- New York Knicks rumors coming out of Knicks training camp focuses on the impact the Karl Anthony Towns trade has on the rest of the roster. Jalen Brunson, OG Anunoby, Mikal Bridges and KAT are all locks to start but who fills in at the last spot. Initially the thought was it was going to be Josh Hart but there has been some speculation that it could actually be Miles McBride. Bothe Deuce McBride and Hart bring pros to the lineup but does strengthening the bench mean more here. Tom Thibodeau will have a difficult decision to make. I think Josh should start, first of all just for the pace moving and the rebounding but second, for a fresh deuce to come off the bench and start face guarding The other team's number one guard scorer who's now a little tired, it would be tough for every team, especially the teams that lean heavily on only one or two to do most of the scoring

Also, it can be a night by night thing as different needs are needed for different teams... If they're going to struggle with rebounding, Josh Hart, if there's a sick scorer we need to be put through hell and really worn down, start deuce... Opportunities are endless here... I think we're a solid backup center and another wing with size away from being legit unstoppable

Achuia at power forward
Og at small forward
Bridges at shooting guard
Brunson at point guard
Putting Og at power forward is not a good idea because he's injury prone. Banging wit then power forward is not good for him. It's gonna wear him down

I would start Josh over Deuce because we need rebounding in the worst way, plus I like Deuce off the bench for instant offense. I think Towns will get back to averaging double digit rebounds at the center position under Thibs... but after that, who??? Honestly, I say start Precious Achiuwa at the PF spot and really bolster our bench with Hart, McBride, Mitch, Payne, and Kolek!
PG - Brunson / Payne / Kolek
SG - Bridges / McBride
SF - Anunoby / Hart
PF - Achiuwa / Towns (when Mitch comes in for Achiuwa)
C - Towns / Mitch
Of course Mitch is out, so I'd start Hart until Mitch is back.

Forget about “5 out.” Precious gives you rim protection, rebounds, and toughness from the 4. Hart in the second unit as the 4 (with Sims at the 5) lends his rebounding the shooting of Sham (3), Deuce (2), and Payne (1).
We can still play five out with Precious
@@coachtali5151 I agree, but there appears to be a misconception that Precious can score. You or I can probably score a bucket or two with the gravity the 4 starters command and the spacing they create.
These pundits seem to believe the only way to play “5 out” is with Hart, Deuce, or Shamet as the 5the starter, and that’s foolish.

You’re 100% correct MG. Hart gives the other Team someone to double off of. You put Duece in and you have 5 shooters which allows a lot of one on one. Hart adds needed strength to the bench.
Josh Hart 3. Let’s not underestimate Deuce off the bench. Last playoffs, he was a spark plug off the bench and made immediate impact in his time in the game

I think deuce scores better as a starter alongside Brunson is what I’ve heard. I think hart provides flexibility off bench being able to sub in for deuce/og/or mikal. Of course, if we are getting killed on boards you put hart in. But i would start deuce.
Space is an issue with Hart there. It falls into Dueces strengths hit open and rock a full court press. Hart makes that first unit a bit slow.
Hart can command that 2nd unit with energy. Duece can command only in spurts.

Koleck, Warren & Toppin can step right in that mix.
Duece ignites Brunson & Kat on offense keeps us quick.
On defense Duece full court defense makes OG & Mikal that much more dangerous.
Deuce would score way more as a starter cause he gets most of his points off catch n shoot 3s from Brunson and other guys

I agree with the commentator. The last 5 to 7 minutes I want Hart on the court. His game skills and versatility usually give the Knicks an edge.
It doesn’t make sense, the SG should be Bridges and Deuxe his backup. Hart is Forward, not Guard. The starters mush be Brunson, Bridges, OG, Hart and KAT.

Hart. The starters are the best players. Hart is extremely better because of all he does on Court. Deuce isn't as impactful yet
This ain't no popularity contest. You're still small with Josh starting play Precious at the 4 so u can keep a big line up and still play 5 out. Let Josh and Deuce be your first guys off the bench.
3 Hart even though Deuce is a heck of a defender he is short and was posted up and with Brunson it gives us a small back court and Bridges should be the SG with Hart at SF
Positions bw hart og and bridges wont mean anything. Og will guard best or strongest wing followed by bridges then hart.

I love the comparison, but I wonder if it totally changes things with an offensive powerhouse that we now have at the five, which was completely absent and all these scenarios.
I would have totally diffetent ideas on starters, based on avoiding injuries to key players( OG , Kat, and Robinson if he comes back.
Precious at the starting PF is the right thing to do.

Low-key yes, whatever defense we lose by having Kat out there Precious can more than make up for, and vice versa. If Precious develops more of a shot this year, this is a no brainer.

Josh hart impacts the game WAAAAAY more than Deuce could ever. Hart provides the auxillary things needed that Deuce doesn't. You can't just focus on shooting from 3. There's way more to quality basketball. Hart gives you high quality and impact minutes.

#2 Mc Bride for sure, let Hart wreak havoc 2-4 for 30 minutes a game allowing starters to stay rested. This will be a relentless strategy.
is there any difference who starts? Probably it depends on the opponent in this case, the lineup will change fast anyway depending on circumstances. We need one more reliable wing off the bench, that's the problem...
3 Josh should start. JB, Mikal & OG are enough to score while we need Deuce’s shooting off bench.

2, Duece in the starting lineup gives us 5 over 40% 3 pt shooters and he can play D on either 1 or 2 so Jalen can take the scrub out of those 2.
Hart is a better rebounder so I would start him at the 4 and OG at the 3. OG’s injury history scares the hell outta me!! Smh 🤦🏽
Whit what we have Deuce should start and Josh a super sub. That way Payne Kolek and Shamet have more playing time and Josh can sub any wing and balance more the bench

@coachtali5151 that's all?? Hart has proven to be able to guard 1-4 quite well, as have Mikal & OG. In addition, Hart is literally the best rebounder for his height in the league so I don't see what Precious gives you over Hart other than a few inches of height, which is completely negated by the impact Hart has compared to Precious.
McBride is a great spark off the bench. Josh doesn’t get hot as quickly as McBride.
I don't think there is a such thing as a traditional power forward in todays game where we have centers shooting at the 3 point line more than they shoot in the paint.

Josh Hart to me with Hart he will be great for grabbing rebounds and he has the energy. McBride will give us better scoring and great energy. Thibs likes to get the second chances shots. Both can do it

Josh Hart not even close. Chemistry with JB and Mikal, helps in rebounding, can defend 3 to four positions depending the opposing 4. Mcbride is great and deserves starter minutes on this roster but it shouldn’t even be a question C’mon. Shamet will move above payne on the depth chart . So will Kolek before the start of the playoffs. Heard it here first.

Josh Hart plays better defense and excellent "fast break" player on the basketball court 🏀. Miles McBride is a better shooter than Hart, but he is a SG more than PG.

Without Randle Hart must start. The Knicks are going to need a guard who can rebound.
You are not talking into account of spacing. On offense Josh will be guarded by a 4 allowing Hart to get rebounds.
Marsh if u think about it this way Hart is not really a scorer yes he can score but he cant come off the bench and provide the offense u need i feel like that can be Deuce with that said i think precious or Sims should start so that when u go to the bench u have Hart and Deuce coming in to give us the wing depth and scoring u need to keep it going while Kat and JB sits to rest just my thought
