Well the fact that mososaurus took the indominus rex in the water. It would probably be the same result. Unless spino who’s capable of swimming, maybe he could use his intelligent agility to defend himself from the mososaurus
Another idea as you said before , is befriend and ask for help to get to Isla Nublar. This would most likely make sense of how spino got to Isla Nublar.
