So the past 2 years have been the hardest 2 years of my life ever. I just felt so insecure all the time and stressed out all the time. I started UA-cam to have fun and to share some laughs but I felt like I couldn't be myself anymore and got too consumed with all the bad things about UA-cam.
I've worked so hard on all my videos for the past 10 years and every time I got a copyright claim or every time when I created a unique video idea and have it ripped off. I just felt less and less of a UA-camr and just didn't enjoy posting UA-cam videos anymore.
I have done so much growing up this past year and now have finally accepted everything.
I am still SO proud of my UA-cam channel, I NEVER thought my videos would be watched BILLIONS of times and thank you all so much for being a part of my life and to watch me grow.
Now I want to become a better comedian and a better UA-camr, I will no longer make videos for the sake of it or for views.
I just want to make videos that I'm proud of.
I made this video mainly for myself. Its a video iv'e always wanted to make and the fact that I'm brave enough to be so vulnerable and open tells me that I can finally put my insecurities in the past and move on with my life knowing that I did my best and that's all that matters. - Розваги
I HAVE NEVER MADE A UA-cam VIDEO THIS OPEN AND HONEST BEFORE...
Usually my videos are made for entertainment, but I wanted to make a video explaining why I haven't REALLY been making UA-cam videos properly.
3 Years ago when all my videos got copyright claimed it made me SO DE-MOTIVATED with UA-cam, I felt like I wasn't wanted on the platform.
I felt like I was being censored by UA-cam, which forced me to be someone that wasn't really me, and censor myself.
I do regret a lot of things in the past and mainly let my insecurities take over and made me doubt myself and my abilities.
I needed some time to step away from UA-cam and decide that If I really want to continue doing this, then I need to be more upfront and honest.
I need to accept everything that has happened from the past 10 years and know that all of my UA-cam videos have made me the person that I am.
NOW I am dedicated to start a NEW CHAPTER of MessYourself and put MORE EFFORT in and hopefully feel like a UA-camr again :)

well brandon one of the best things you did this year is be upfront about this and being fully honest, i do agree that youtube have changed a lot and copyrighted videos is getting very irritating because you feel like you cant even post whatever you want anymore but hey, lets be honest here, we can still find a way to post videos without getting copyrighted, quitting is not an option rn since you do have a lot of beloved fans! yk this video really remined me of how i reacted on the many videos i got copyrighted on for the simplest things, not really cool of youtube :/ i hope you find a way to still enjoy videos without youtube being too strict about everything, i have been a fan of you for years now and will always be tbh, keep up the amazing work :)

I find it kind of depressing how UA-cam's TOS has developed. I mean this site was a place where people could express their content or like what glitches they found in RuneScape, now it's just a whole disaster. Respect to Brandon for continuing the grind.

I've been watching messyourself for 6 years and those old videos always make me laugh because Brandon was so genuine and him self and his personality especially the cooking videos and I'm glad he has made this video's because it was sad when I didn't watch him as much because of the UA-cam conditions changing because there is definitely things that he's said that most people would get offended by but those were the funny parts but none the less a UA-cam icon, thank you messyourself for the funny videos that bring nostalga to me now 💙.

A few of my vids have been copyright claimed but cuase I don't make have a 1k subs it's fine.
I've only stumbled upon this a year later but for the past year or so, I sit at my desk and get ready and eat breakfast and have messyourself videos next to me every morning. I would watch old videos that I loved like 6 years ago, or I would watch new ones. I stumbled on the messyourself channel on my grandmother's ipad probably around 6 years ago and I loved messyourself for a while. I hate to say this but I did stop watching because Brandon is right, people evolve. I grew up and was going through secondary school and youtube just wasn't a big thing for me anymore. Now I'm in year 11, my last year of school, and now I feel like watching the videos that me, me. Not many youtubers realise but, you raised so many kids a lot more than their parents did. Most of my personality would come from all the youtubers I watched and made ne who I am today. So when I stumbled on this video this morning, I realised how hard it is for youtubers and why most of them had gone away. I can't say I'll continue watching forever, but I can say that I will keep coming back to it because this was honestly my childhood and who doesn't want a replay of the best times in their childhood? Brandon, you're amazing at your videos. I'm glad you opened up about this and really opened people's eyes. I wish from the bottom of my heart that you get the rewards you deserve. UA-cam age restricts "inappropriate" content but like its not the youtubers fault that YT Kids went to who knows where. Like c'mon bruh. There are other content creators like Messyourself that deal with the same stuff like that's crazy. Claims aren't a big deal for a channel with under 1,000 subs as I upload and don't make a penny but I don't Care big channels like mess yourself and jacksepticeye are popular and are big targets to copyright claims.

Uhh no, they shouldn’t. People don’t have the right to take others work without permission, and copyright claims are a good thing that exists. What is bad is how much UA-cam exaggerated it. For example, if someone uploads a whole movie they shouldnt have the right to earn money from it, but if within a 10 minute video there’s a 2 second clip that’s copyrighted, the UA-camr should at least still get some money from it. At least half of what they would have earned

i remember watching you 5-4 years ago when i was around 10. i watched your the walking dead gameplay and it started my love for gaming. i feel like without you brandon and various other gaming youtubers i wouldnt be where i am today. that may sound stupid since its just gaming but it gave me courage and inspiration. especially lis before the storm when i came out in 2019. i also remember watching your scary animations reaction videos with my sister and friends at sleepovers when i was 11. i still watch you to this day as you still make me laugh. your videos influenced me today and they will influence me until the day i die. thank you brandon.
My favourite video is the cooking videos. Those made me laugh so much especially the Christmas Dinner preparation. You made my childhood man. You've influenced my humour, my personality, my hobbies. Brandon, you are one of the funniest, most enthusiastic person I have ever seen on UA-cam and I remember being 6 or 7 listening to you and you would make me happy no matter what, and I also enjoyed that you had such a great sense of humour, and kept on posting for 10 straight years, which is a huge milestone for you and the fans because you have not given up and kept going❤ you have never failed to impress me and I just want to thank you for being such an inspiration and helping me at my low moments, it’s also a coincidence that I found your channel after 2 or 3 years as I have only recently came across your channel again on UA-cam and watched one video and all the memories came flooding back to me and it was hard not to cry when I saw what happened to your channel as UA-cam has changed and become a more family friendly platform😢 You should not be treated like you do as you are iconic, your Who’s your daddy series, walking dead series , Yandere simulator series are all amazing in there own way and all because you are a perfectionist when it comes to comedy. I’ve been subbed to messyourself for about 4-5 years, and all I want to say is thank you! Your literally the reason y I have a best friend, we both liked u and just loved ur content through hischool. But the only thing that I’ve noticed through the years of ur channel, it isn’t the content, it isn’t the backgrounds, it’s the hair, it changes like every video and still looks great
