I carry an emergency kit in the car but when I've gotten stuck in the snow, I've always been able to switch between reverse and 1st gear, rocking the car back and forth until I got out. You can treat an automatic transmission like a manual. It's much better than getting out of the car and getting cold.
I think you should also give advise on how to drive in winter such as keeping fair amount of distance with other cars, applying break slowly because applying break fast may skid your car, etc.
It's a weird thing white Canadian's and immigrants alike do in Canada. Contents of garage valued at $500. Car valued at $50, 000. They protect the $500 of crap storing it in the garage but don't protect the much more expensive investment, their car. Your battery will last longer and your car will see less corrosion from storing it in the garage, but most people store crap in the garage.
@@DeviousShrimp You can store your crap inside the house or throw away stuff you're not using. Most of you have basements anyway. You've got plenty of places to store crap you don't need. Your cars aren't fine. Storing your car outside, exposing body work to more UV light, salt, snow etc... results in more damage, more repairs, etc... But sure, keep the garbage in your garage and fuck your car. LOL
Not just remove snow from windshield, but from your full car. As you drive the snow/ice on your roof will blow off and can slide down your own windshields blocking your view. Or it can fly backwards blocking the view of whomever’s behind you or damaging their car. Don’t forget to clean your lights, side mirrors and your license plate too.
Thanks for the good tips, especially the extendable brush. Some additional tips could be to have a combined tyre inflator and jump starter, to have a snow shovel, a tow line and a reflective vest.
@@prashantchauhan9513 you can't remove the cover directly once it's loaded with snow!! But you can apply all these cleaning jobs over the cover and once snows get partially removed, you can lift that up.... Can avoid unwanted scratches and direct contact with snow!!!!
One tip I doo before winter is I buy silicone spray and spray all my door seals and latches and door locks this will help keep your doors from becoming stuck and your locks from freezing.
keep wipes in upright(away from windshield) to help not to freeze your wipers on windshield. its good to have a automatic car starter in the car to keep your car warm in winter before drive. to remove snow easily, i prefer to full blast heat on windshield and turned on rear glass heater then i leave my car start for 5 min try that in the mean time snow starts melting automatically or you can easily remove instead of brutally scraping. use anti defogger in interior glass of your car. it will helps you to see clearly without any danger. in winters your car windows gets foggy very quickly. studded winter tires could be consider as good option if its allowed to use in your province. avoid driving in freezing rain. and last thing...enjoy winters snow in Canada STAY SAFE :)
One additional thing- Reduce your insurance deductibles in case they were high in summer season to preferably 500$ for collision and 250$ for comprehensive (this is important). And yes keep a shovel as well in your car if you can especially if you more snow is on the way.
Can make a full video on what you have to bring from India or any other country and what they shouldn't bring. Specifically what I international student needs to bring to Canada from they country. Which season is best to travel in Canada.

Are they included as part of your car insurance? How many free call outs can you get? I liked the point about keeping a blanket and food items for safety.
*What if you use Car Body Cover!! I think if one uses cover, then it might be possible to gently remove some of the snow and then pull off the cover!! I'm not sure though if there's some other reason which won't let one to use cover!!!*

Hey guys, love your content ❤️ I had a question, why don't people in canada prefer car covers instead? I guess it would be much easier and it won't damage your car either as cleaning your car with a snow brush or ice scraper might leave some scratches. Keep up the good work and more power to you 😊🙏🏻
Generally it's just much more convenient to grab the brush and brush the snow off. Plus, car covers are a hassle to put on your car, especially if you're parking somewhere public.

I wonder why didn’t you park your car inside garage?
Because of lack of storage in North America, many people use garage for storage purposes.
Because they have to store the ghee, chavwal, aata, cardboard, wedding dress, shaapping, chupal, coata shoata somevhere
