You know, I do like this movie, but rewatching it I noticed quite a few plot holes in it, which is weird considering that Get Out had almost no plot holes/mistakes in it, yet this movie had so many despite being made by the same person.
@@jadenmccown2132: When compared to Get Out, which only had 1 plot hole (no 1 ever made the connection that all of these Black guys who went missing were dating the same woman), there are a few unresolved issues and things that don't make that much sense in Us. Now, they could be setting up for a sequel or just want some elements more up to interpretation for the audience, but I left the theater more confused and unsatisfied because there were multiple things that bothered me with Us, whereas Get Out left me completely content with where the story concluded. While the plot of Get Out does sound ridiculous and no normal cop would take the claim seriously without real proof, I'm pretty sure at least someone would have realized that "Hey, my brother/son/friend who went missing after dating this rich White girl wasn't the only 1 who did. Maybe I should contact her or ask the cops to at least drop by on that family." Like I said, it is the ONLY thing about Get Out that bothers me, but I didn't even realize it until my 3rd or 4th time I saw the film. Now, as for Us, there are several plot holes that I noticed the day of seeing the film. If the government had been cloning everyone for years, how were there enough underground tunnels to store over 300 million people? Adelaide, her parents, and her family didn't live in California, so how did/what were their clones doing there? If the whole idea for the clones coming up was to show that they don't want to be oppressed anymore/want to be treated as equal despite not having souls, then killing their counterparts is a horrible idea. If the cloning project had been ended (as it was suggested) then when did the government stop, and if it was before the kids were born then how do they have clones? Why did none of the clones ever think about coming up before if there is no real security system keeping them underground? Where did they get all of the red clothes, scissors, and gloves, and how did they communicate with each other on how to execute this plan? I'll admit, some of these sound nitpicky, but when you add them all up, it does make the movie not as well written as initially reviewed, but I still liked it.
@@jessetorres8738 With Get Out, that's not a plot hole. In real life, when black people go missing, they rarely, if ever, get national attention. That was a bit of a commentary about the disregard for black people's well beings aka Missing White Woman Syndrome. The main theme of the film is race so it's relevant to the message. With Us, I think the only legit plot hole you pointed out was their clothes and the scissors. As far as the tethered living underground and the government shit, remember that was Red's "belief". She is not a clone and she didn't originate down there so she doesn't truly know why the Tethered exist. But if we took her belief in that, she did explain why the Tethered never left. They didn't have a mind of their own or at least they didn't know they could have a mind of their own until Red basically showed them that she was different. She took charge because she's a full human and led them to revolution.
@@jessetorres8738 every movie has a level of disbelief you have to suspend. As a viewer, you should be able to tell what that level is as the movie goes on. As long as a movie doesn't contradict rules that the movie itself set in place, it's ok. Yes the underground clones in Us are unfeasible, but it works within the rules of the world in Us. The correct response is to not worry about details, otherwise nothing in the movie makes sense. Another example: all of the aliens in the MCU speak English, and some signs on alien planets use the alphabet
Lol I feel really dumb for this but can someone explain how every other tethered has to follow their counterparts movements, up until this tethered family? Is it also just movie magic that each tethered found their partner when they are just stumbling around in tunnels? I don't understand it, and I feel like I'm missing a lot
Pluto is the real Jason. When Jason got trapped in the closet last summer as they say in the beginning he got burned by his trick and he couldn’t get out. It was then when he was swapped by his doppelgänger. Now the doppelgänger puts the toy not to get the door locked because he knows what happened to pluto, and when he makes the trick inside the closet pluto gets scared because it was because of the magic trick why he got burned in the first place
Or Jason switched with Pluto and then whenever Jason would fail the trick, (as seen in the beginning of the movie), Pluto (the real Jason) would play with a match which ended up burning his face
@Sydnee Kiara Actually.... Pluto's face mainly mouth and neck area are severly burned, if he damaged his vocals talking would either be painful or impossible therefore the grunts because his lips are burned pronouncing words would involve lip movement and that would be too painful for him if his chords are someone what in tact making noises would be easier for him than to try to speak.
4:40 it’s a small moment for Adeline that I actually really like. She doesn’t resort to violence with Pluto but tries to plead with him and is even horrified to see him die. Everyone talks about the tether being violent by nature but ad proves they can be like anyone else if given the right upbringing. The tethered are the way they are because they are effectively traumatized kids who have suffered for generations with little understanding of the world. That doesn’t change the awful thing she did but she isn’t the same girl she was when she left the hall of mirrors and the same could’ve been for the rest of the tethered. If anything what red wanted to do was even worse cause while she’s a victim of a horrible event that gave her decades of trauma and horror it doesn’t justify murdering millions of innocent people to take their lives like ad took hers. I can understand her wanting revenge but tormenting and basically genociding millions of people for her message is way worse then what ad did by miles(no potential pun intended).
Theory: Pluto is the real Jason. It's mentioned how Jason had an accident with one of his tricks, setting the house on fire with him inside. But he "miraculously" survived with not even a scratch. "Pluto" however, is covered in burns. I believe the REAL Pluto used the fire as a way to switch places with the REAL Jason. This explains how "Jason" had no burns and can't use the lighter and do tricks like before. Plus the personality change. "Pluto" can't talk due to likely smoke inhalation, causing his noises, and his almost entirely melted mouth. That's my theory
It's more likely that the reason Pluto's face is burnt is because Jason is always playing with that lighter. Pluto has a match instead of a lighter so everytime Jason plays with the lighter, it's likely that Pluto burns himself because they're both tethered.
To be honest i don't think that Pluto wants to hurt Jason, it looks more like he need someone to play with

1:03 If Jason and Pluto actually high-fived each other, that would've been too cute! 😄
Born by the fire , died to the fire.
Born laughing died laughing
both laughing and both died
0:37 this is so cute 😭
4:15 Jason smarter then me
The way the Tethered move is so scary.
And Pluto didn’t even pulled out his scissors or if he didn’t have any
Why did Jason do that.... That was so sad, watching Pluto go into the flames. Okay like don't freaking burn him to death. That's so freaking painful. At least end him as painlessly as possible.
they had to make sure he was dead
They did say he loved fire
@@S4VORYT-OG But that's so brutal-
I mean he was trying to kill them too so?
but at the end of the day pluto was going to kill them anyway, that was the plan so they had to make sure he was dead
Pluto was crawling in the house sense but in his death sense he walking :|
That's because he's a shadow you walk he walk he only do so if necessary

@@multicolormaurice bruh wtf
A detail I love, Jason is shown to have a stronger connection to Pluto than any other pair. Immediately before pulling up to a house on fire, we see Jason unsuccessfully flicking his lighter. I'm wondering if their connection is strong enough for Pluto to control Jason.
Probably the closest to the original plan for the tethered(as messed up as that is).
You know, I do like this movie, but rewatching it I noticed quite a few plot holes in it, which is weird considering that Get Out had almost no plot holes/mistakes in it, yet this movie had so many despite being made by the same person.
I haven't seen the movie but name 1 plot hole
Jesse Torres Us is heavily layered. Symbolism everywhere.
Pluto is adorable
He died young but went out in a blaze of glory.
@Sydnee Kiara There's more evidence though
@Sydnee Kiara Actually.... Pluto's face mainly mouth and neck area are severly burned, if he damaged his vocals talking would either be painful or impossible therefore the grunts because his lips are burned pronouncing words would involve lip movement and that would be too painful for him if his chords are someone what in tact making noises would be easier for him than to try to speak.
gabriela mejia ok but they said it took years for addy to speak so how would it have only taken jason a year?
@@logansmith8744 That's the only thing I can't explain but there is a bunch more evidenced

@Dylan Vuorinen you’re probably 11 so I’m not finna judge you
I think main theme of this movie is
the real villain ain't them, it's US
4:40 it’s a small moment for Adeline that I actually really like.
Pluto’s giving spider baby from granny vibes
Pluto likes fire...🔥🔥🔥🔥
Dark comedy
Him and beavis would get along.
I think Pluto Didn’t want hurt anyone because he just needed somebody to play with the reason he chased after them is because he just wanted to play

Why did they pick the names “Jason and Pluto” for twins? Maybe after 2 mama boys. Jason from Friday The 13th and Pluto from The Hills Have Eyes.
