I started listening to Dolores when I was nine years old I’m 20 now so I’ve been listening to her for quite some time and I miss her to death but I still cry for her some days but I just get through it but she was my mom’s idol before mine and my mom introduced me to Dolores and I think her for that because she has my wonderful and lovely idea that I would not trade for anyone else in the world would not and could not ever trade her for anyone else in the world

She had the voice of an Angel. I also battle addiction and depression from childhood abuse. I feel what she most likely did, i just hate that we lost such a good soul so early.
She was a big part of my 20s and 30s with her music. I understand the mental pan of depression and what it does to a person. God rest your soul Deloris, you are missed.
For many people, life never gets better and I feel certain that she battled serious issues from childhood. The song Ode to My Family has always resonated with me, "My Father, he Liked me....does anyone care". Physical or sexual abuse was right there for her "therapist" to help her with and they did not apparently. I wish I could have talked to her before this happened, I am not all OK myself, but know that deep very serious pain and what it does mentally.
    Rest In Peace ma'am.

Ditto- was sexually abused by a caretaker in South Korea 🇰🇷 while my family was there for my fathers work for little over a year. I was 3-4 years old and didn’t remember until one day was changing my sons diaper and started having flashbacks and then was paranoid about anyone hurting them & even ended a relationship with a man I loved very much & was well to do with his work at that time. My sister was 18 -24 months old and got very sick so they had to take her into Seoul Korea & the nanny said they didn’t love me just my sister and she’d be my friend and so it goes....! I remember very little physically but the fear of my parents finding out (she said they’d leave me there when the family went back to the USA and that if they found out they would give me away.) It was def more that scary & powerful manipulation and the mean lies that affected me a lot & these things are very painful to heal with a little at a time so not to fall into depression over all of it! And well this isn’t just some simple thing you can share w your buddies over wine 🍷 on a Friday night. These are serious traumas that people need regular therapy & real healing and of course be gentle with yourselves bc healing takes time. But getting help basically made me a better partner & parent.
One guy I saw for therapy put me on Lithium and since I have no bi-polar or schizophrenia it just made me feel numb and I immediately asked to go off of that and I puked up bile for quite a few days. Thank God I was smart enough to stop taking it AND to know to get a new therapist and keep healing over more time. Healing can be frustrating & even painful to deal with, but be brave bc there is a bright light at the end of that healing journey!

Look for a therapist trained in and knowledgeable of Complex Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (CPTSD). You can find a number of UA-cam videos on 5he topic. One of the most accessible is the Crappy Childhood Fairy's channel. Dolores was diagnosed BPD before anyone really knew CPTSD existed. The two are often confused, but treatment varies greatly. I was diagnosed just this past January. Given the kind of trauma in her life, plus the recent breakup of an 18 year marriage, it isn't difficult to see the trajectory she was on. If her trauma had been treated appropriately, who knows how things might have turned out differently?
Hang in there. There is hope and it does get better with the right help!

I’m 100% with you. I didn’t experience sexual abuse myself as a child, no not anything to be permanently scarred me like it did to her. But I did receive plenty of physical and mental abuse as a child. And I really resonate with a lot of her songs especially Ode to my family.

The reason for time delay is the toxicology report. They take months to come back… sometimes almost a year. There is a back log in most states and the death certificate is then amended to reflect the toxicology to reflect what is found in a persons system. The medical examiner can do the physical autopsy but the labs take a while to come back….

I need to agree with what you’re saying, since she was clearly found in a bath tub why did it take so long to reveal this information; hard in a way to believe that an inquest took 8 months to complete.
But like you said, privacy issue or maybe no information couldn’t be revealed until the inquest was finalised.
Also what raised my curiosity, is how did she end up in this bath tub, cause apparently she had pj’s on, was she really that hammered that she didn’t know what was going on and fell in the bath tub?

    • @Saby217
      @Saby217 Рік тому +2

A few times over the legal limit to 'drive' (which is basically 1 drink, is not hammered, especially for someone who has a high alcohol tolerance. Plus, toxicology report said the prescription meds were not above therapeutic level in her system. Furthermore, why for 2 months was a Fentanyl story circulating to be later debunked?
Who goes into a bathtub after a few drinks with pj's on? She called and spoke to her mother at 230am, was found dead around 9am. So went into tub with pj's after call with mum or woke up really early to take a bath with pj's
      Yeah right, all makes sense.
Wondering if anyone was with her between those times 🤔
Just seems like such a formula way famous people die suddenly.
Had the same psychiatrist as Michael a few years before, after which goes beserk on a plane and diagnosed as bipolar. Hmmm..

I know a lot of people will say it's suicide, but the drowning story actually makes more sense in my opinion. She had the pills that would have been more efficient, yet she didn't overdose on those. She was known to have been driven to alcoholism due to her depression, so most likely she got drunk, drew a bath, and then drowned when she passed out drunk. The reason why I don't buy the suicide story is because she didn't exhibit the behaviors for it prior to it. Like she was set to do a recording the next day that everyone who knew her and spoke with her said she sounded excited to do. Doesn't sound like she planned not to do it...

Sounds pretty straight forward - she was up late drinking and decided to take a bath when she fell asleep, slipped under the water and drowned and couldn't wake up and get out of the water due to the drugs/alcohol. I've passed out so many times while drinking only to come to hours later not knowing how long I was asleep. I once slept hours and hours like this only to wake up, shower and leave for work. Definitely not my best nights sleep. RIP Delores.

The big secret is much the same as any drug overdose- it’s often a shameful feeling or blame gets placed with family for not knowing or not helping etc it’s really hard as it brings so many additional problems while they are picking up pieces and trying to lay their loved one to rest..... I was under the impression she drank so much she passed out unfortunately in the bathtub and then obviously drowned - to me it would resonate with family the same way a drug overdose would.

I don't believe she "drowned" in the tub. Even if she was super intoxicated, studies show gag reflexes will jolt even the most out of it person. And also suspect that her nose and mouth were found completely underwater ~ which doesn't happen with an accidental drowning. Did the autopsy say she had water in her lungs?

Maybe her family went to great lengths to make sure here death was put on the record as accidental, rather than as suicide.
So as to not tarnish her legacy.....& for money.
I am guessing that life insurance companies probably won't pay out if someone on the policy committed suicide??
This could be due to the family fighting a life insurance company....

There is a condition called endogenous alcohol production. Meaning, the level of alcohol can actually raise post mortem. Candida can produce alcohol. It can show low to normal ratios actually showing up excessively high. I don't doubt she had pills and some drinks. But I'm sure she wasn't as high as her BAC showed. Why she chose to get in the tub is anyone's guess. She will never be forgotten.

    There is an inquest because:
    1) Died at a young age with no medical diagnosis like cancer or heart problem.
    2) She was on prescription medication so toxicology of tissues were analyzed to see if she overdosed on prescription or street drugs.
    3) For her children's sake thorough exam to let family know why loved one is gone.
    4) For sake of possible lawsuits by family to rule out any issues such as slipping and hit head because of lose floortile ( for example)
When I was really drunk I got in bath with clothes on.. obviously she was very drunk, we will never know what was in her head when she ran that tub of water but she loved her family and I don't think she intentionally killed herself. She was known to be a really bad binge drinker. This was part of her bipolar illness. Horrible that people like her are alone when they need others. Finally, it was very important to her mother that an inquest be held because of very strong catholic family. Catholics believe you sin if you complete suicide. Some Catholic cemeteries will not allow burial on church grounds of people who commit suicide. Her mother, who was next of kin after divorce wanted her name cleared.

Her mother was then technically her next of kin. I am angry her husband couldnt see her through her mental health issues. She was such a lovely person who was taking her meds and doing better. Have you heard her album? It has great songs and the boys from the band did a good job with them. May she rest in peace and her children keep good memories.

You often find people who are heavily intoxicated with alcohol or opiods inhale vomit and thus, drown. But it sounds to me that she probably lost consciousness in a bath and, because her central nervous system was depressed, she lost her cough reflex and drowned in bathwater. People can drown in a bucket, in 4 inches of water or, like I said first, no external water.

People, it all comes down to a simple thing. Celebrities have bodies, issues, they do shit, they have ups and downs and just like any of us, from time to time, some of them can't really handle some of their whatever demons, existential crisis, disappointments with relationship and all. The world has been populated by far by the selfish, evil, greedy...then some of us will not take it for so long and wait for the "train" to board, for it might linger...we might just take a chance and walk on the train tracks. I hope you keep yourself strong for better days shall come. But I can’t really judge those who don’t.

Very little focus on the meds she was taking. Notice that both Dr's covered their arse by reporting (inquest) that they had asked her if she had any thoughts of suicide. To which both Dr's said she did not.
3 months earlier she wrote a suicide note while mixing alcohol with her prescribed meds, but fell asleep. Both Dr's knew this.
Lorazepam (This is just one of the 4 different meds she was taking. )
    Sedative
It can treat seizure disorders, such as epilepsy. It can also be used before surgery and medical procedures to relieve anxiety.
    Controlled substance
Can cause paranoid or suicidal ideation and impair memory, judgment, and coordination. Combining with other substances, particularly alcohol, can slow breathing and possibly lead to death.

JimmyMac Chelsea Except that she did not have toxic levels of her meds. Four times the legal limit of ETOH is a toxic level if she had abstained from ETOH for any period of time. (It doesn’t take very long for your substance tolerance to drop.)
ETOH poisoning is very common. ETOH related deaths are far more common than deaths from opioids. But state governments sell alcohol, and Prohibition was far worse. But there you have it...

    • @ailleananaithnid2566
      @ailleananaithnid2566 4 роки тому +3

Michelle Kelly Because you are focused on them. Look, she had a lethal level of ethyl alcohol in her system. Amy Winehouse did the same thing. Alcohol poisoning is bad news. And as you get older, your liver is less & less able to detoxify alcohol. She wasn’t 22 anymore, she was looking at 50 and you simply cannot drink that much alcohol and expect to just wake up with a four alarm headache. She was playing with fire.
(Ethanol becomes formaldehyde in your system - thus the nausea and vomiting from a hangover.)
You can’t simply read a PDR, see certain side effects, and say: “Aha! That’s what killed her! “
Those drugs are dispensed labeled with clear warnings “DO NOT MIX THIS MEDICATION WITH ALCOHOL.” At some point we need to look at the decedent for the cause of what is certainly a tragedy.
She had therapeutic levels of prescription drugs in her system.
Could they exacerbate the loss of consciousness? Indeed they can. (Ergo the clear warnings on the bottles.) But had she ONLY consumed the meds, she would NEVER have passed out and drowned.
Had she not had those meds in her system, it’s still very likely that she would have passed out and drowned. Her ETOH level was coma level for the average adult... I understand she had a history of blackout drinking. That’s your body’s way of warning you that you are consuming toxic levels of booze.
Had she come into the ER with that level of alcohol in her system it would surely have been an emergency.
