Got me a physical copy myself, amazing work they did with the storyline and gameplay. The camera, I didn't care for sometimes, but beggars can't be choosers! Lost paradise was what got me into the yakuza series as well, that says volumes about its quality even if it is not clone of....I heard part 2 was the closest to lost paradise. I think a video game based on the anime OVA "M.D. Geist" would be great and somewhat simple to pull off amazingly, just use the dark souls format with a twist of metal gear solid and a bit of dynasty warriors.
The expressiveness is easily right up there with the likes of Mega Man Legends 2 and Nintendo’s works during that era. That dev team really knew what the hell they were doing 💕

That's right my friend, the subtitle 世紀末救世主伝説 translates to "Legend of the savior of century's end" while the main mode's name is "Legend of the savior".
They actually explained that. TldR: the size of Kenshiro and the bad guys in this series is caused by mutations thanks to the radioactivity still lingering around after the nuclear-apokalypse. Pretty much all fighters are more or less mutants canonically.

16:50 largely from what I gathered, the reason Ken lost to shin was because he was "Heir" to Fist of the north star in name only. Ken hadn't mastered the style yet and was also reluctant to use the power of hokuto to its fullest afraid he may hurt or kill someone. There's actually an entire ova (I think u can find it subbed on UA-cam) that shows when he finally became the Kenshiro we're most familiar with.
Plausible explanation but Kenshiro had everything he needed to kill Shin except obsession as the motivating force. Also the Nanto Seiken style as a foil never really stood much of a chance until Souther and were destined to lose.

Shin beat Kenshiro the first time they fought basically because Ken was a really soft, gentle, certified Wifeguy™ who loved his girlfriend so, so much. His brothers even thought he was the weakest among them, and only their master saw the potential in him... because Hokuto Shinken is all about love. You gotta love someone (Or in Toki's case, everyone, because he's Jesus) deeply to be the strongest. Shin kidnapping Yuria was a colossal fuckup. He made Kenshiro realize that he loved Yuria even more than he thought he did, and the very thought of not having her by his side Released The Beast from inside him. What I mean is... Hokuto no Ken is about loving your partner so freaking much that you gonna murder half the world just to be by their side again. What a classic. What a hero.
Which becomes pretty sad once the story establishes that Kenshiro intends to take the Fist of the Northstar fighting style to the grave and never take in any apprentices when we get to the events of FotN2.
Aww, I was all excited because I thought this was gonna be about the PlayStation 4 version, which has one of the best stories, one of the most satisfying endings, and it’s made by the guys who made Yakuza!
I really like these graphics. Perhaps it's because they remind me of nostalgic old DS games (yes I'm a fetus, sue me), but in any case I find them really charming.
I would have loved this as a kid! My parents not so much, all the over the top kung fu movie sound effects would get grating really, really fast I feel. Still though, that art style is super charming even now, I love it.
