Considering one of our star guys (adou thiero). Was limited due to illness, and we are working aidoo back to full strength I think this was a great game. Plus learning how to finish games like this bodes well because conference games will be close.
Aidoo's performance v Michigan was encouraging. And no disrespect to the other players, yet Thiero may be the heart & soul of the team. Thiero had an illness, and he gave Calipari 20+ gritty minutes in which he still played with physicality and he aggressively drove to the hoop.
Coach Cal is a treasure to listen to. I should have known this by now, but he was the enemy for so long that I didn’t pay attention to him. This guy is awesome.
Play defense all game!!! Guard the perimeter much better, all game. So much talent on the team, but got to play hard for 40 minutes. But this win will build confidence and mental toughness.
Yep agree - it showed them what they have to aspire to in order to win against top talent. They survived that last punch ….. barely. Not making free throws just kills us and puts most games in jeopardy when it doesn’t have to be. It’s age and experience too. Guys just can’t only play O. They gotta play lockdown D and do the basic 101 stuff like drop gimme free throws at crucial times in the game but again that takes game experience and maturity.
I love that Cal pointed out TB overcoming the missed FT's with the big-time block. And he also praised Nellie for making a hustle play after he had been beat.
Nolan had 40 minutes of Hell. Cal will get there. We have the talent but just got to get well and get that killer instinct. I didn’t feel comfortable with an 18 point lead with 8 minutes left. Michigan cut that down so fast it made your head spin. Those two Michigan 7 footers are phenoms. They move, pass and handle the ball like guards, amazing to watch. For TB to get that block at the end of the-HUGE! And the tipped pass the last 3.7 seconds - HUGE! That’s killer effort. But I don’t see how coaches manage the portal and NIL. There is no player commitment anymore - none. They are 18-19 yo immature boys with millions thrown at them. They get sideways with a coach and then act like a 2yo and leave. NCAA - total F - U with portal and NIL. It’s the same with all teams but NCAA basketball could be better with a few guardrails in place. FACT.

@billybarber2064 Some coach team ball without having to have every 5 star they can buy. Hurley just won back to back and others as well. Cal takes credit for getting them to the NBA as if its his coaching alone. Nobody has had more talent through the years with so many early exits in March.
@@joeywilson9067 As I am watching this year play out I look back on a lot of UKs roster and where they are at now. G league and overseas is higher than players playing in the NBA. The quantity Cal has squandered is ludicrous.

Im a Kentucky guy but im rooting for Cal. i dont think hes the coach he was 6 years ago but he is still better than most. great win for Ark.
