知道嗎？我第一次看到他們倆位的演藝，讓我驚艷，拿捏得真自然，我好喜歡，喔…我根本不認識他們倆人，但我已經喜歡上。
This was better than any romantic scene I've ever watched. It's beautiful and peaceful and passionate at the same time. This is the moment they fully embrace their feelings for each other, considering each other their whole world. I was moved by this scene like anything.
i laugh so hard at ppl who still try to call this a 'bromance'. LMAO like yeah your bff would compose a song for the two of you, call it by your ship name "wangxian", get whipped, go to isolation, do spirit inquiry for 13 years, raised your "child", & break so many rules for you even when he's the most law-abiding person you ever met. if this isn't love then it doesn't exist

@@pilarpadilla9698 EXACTLY we all know its categorised as bromance because of censorship//Chinese laws and even if it wasn't no way in hell that it is bromance they have been through a lot for each other
very true! such a sweet scene with tender emotions (repressed ones;). I'm still very sad that they didn't confess their love at this point (like they did later in the novel). I guess that's why some people see it only as bromance or friendship. And bromance was the most important message to pass the censorship while the production team tried to find a way to show both (sticking to the novel and dropping hints😄).
the difficulty is the translation of 知己 (zhiji). there are good explanations (e.g. on tumblr) about the translation and the depth of the word in the context of TU/CQL. English is not my mother tongue so I had one more translation (in german they translated it with "best friend" why is really like your best buddy/bro sometimes I read " confidante" which is focuses more on trust :( . So I stick to soulmate which comes most close. But what I got is: all translations are kinda ok. true friend, a soulmate, your love, you confidante...."the one who truely knows you" (like a mirror). (it's funny that the big word "love" would somehow limit their importance of each other and maybe is not as much as 知己. please native speakers correct me if I'm wrong.;) having the same beliefs is a very important topic right from the beginning of TU/CQL ("having a clean conscience") which they both have and is leading their way of life.

This scene is capable of giving beautiful interpretations. When Wei Ying learnt the truth, he realizes that it is not worth proving his innocence to people because they do not matter, when he now has a prized possession of a bonding with Lan Zhan and nothing else really matters. Also, Lan Zhan seated before Guqin in Jingshi reminded me of him playing inquiry and maybe this time he really got an answer from Wei Ying, after 13 years.

Surely I am not the only one that appreciate their friendship more than them being in love with each other? This drama makes me realise how wonderful it is to have a friend who is equally capable as you and go through hardships together while relying on each other. Friendships created during hard times is so precious.
wonderful to have a boyfriend/girlfriend or husband/wife that are equally capable as you and go through hardships together and still love each other without the need of submission from one of the partners.
