    Everyone smiles during this song,
    it's so great!👏👏👏👏👏👏
😊 It's just a song, but the rhythm and the positive vibration grabs you, you can't resist, it touches your heart and you feel good and strong! Could it be that such a song could create a "pandemic" of joy and peace to heal the wounds in our torn world?
    Hopefully yes ❤ ❤ ❤

As recently as April 29th Switzerland were 1st in the odds and 3rd on the night of the contest so not very surprising.
Netherlands dq probably made the contest more even since they probably shared a lot of fans with Croatia.
And my final thought is that the worst thing that happened is that Italy revealed their semi televote number. Started a lot of campaigns around Europe, even on Sweden's biggest net forum, to vote for Israel and the odds started going bananas. Before that Israel were 8th in the odds.

I would have loved to have seen Joost perform and then seen the final vote from the jury and public. I think the final results would have been very different. Since I've been watching, it always appears that politics and agenda seem to outweigh the music and performances. It's really unfortunate. Keep the shenanigans and controversies out of it. The best part of the Eurovision competition is the wide variety of musical styles and performances, and there will always be something for everyone to enjoy! Agree that Croatia should have won, but in a way he did win, he won a career he didn't have before the ESC season, and the hearts and ears of the planet. I and my household gave him a ton of votes between us in the final. So aggravating to see him win the televote by a measure then realise your vote is STILL basically wasted. The rest of my votes went to Slovenia and Estonia and I was sad to see them do so poorly. Austria I loved too but knew the vocal quality might work against her a lot. I gave 90% of my semi votes to Slovenia and Raiven btw, felt she would benefit more than Lasagna, who was assured to qualify. I really needed to see her in the final, I cannot understand why her song and performance is so underrated against some really basic pop. I gave a single token vote to Israel as I admire the hell out of Eden for handling the mob behaviour aimed at her as well as liking her song. I did see a member of the Norwegian jury admit he deliberately didn't vote for Israel. The others did though, so they still got 8 points, haha, but there was definitely a lot of that kind of shit going on, always is. The Joost thing, ugh .... he is the architect of his own demise there, should have handled it differently - it's a sign of the stupidity going on that way too many of his fans decided somehow Joost's inabolity to handle things with Swedish production workers was Eden Golan and Israel, people who were kept away from pretty much everyone for most of the contest. The Swedish police think an offence was committed, and he is being charged. It isn't a conspiracy. Nobody made Joost act the fool except himself and for artists to object to being filmed in what is one huge global media circus and promotional opportunity eh, No. Norway, yeah did so poorly, didn't shock me in the end, juries don't reward that kind of music, and apparently neither to the majority of ESV voters. Did think the performance suffered a bit of that huger stage though tbqh, it lost a little in translation.

    • @tanjanikola9489
      @tanjanikola9489 13 днів тому +4

I did hear that Joost may be neurodivergent (?) and it had been made clear that he should not be filmed, and despite multiple requests he was filmed in secret (with videos published where you can hear giggling on the background). The camera person Joost had a run-in with refused stop filming. Joost would have needed more protection and respect, especially straight after an emotional performance.

Baby Lasagna should be number one, odds are right, Israel came in the picture two days before finals and than everything became a mess with televotes and jury. EBU could not risk Israel to win with televote so they fill Nemo with jury votes. They could fill Croatia, but they did not, who knows why. As Croatian I can say that Nemo was my second best.

    • @JochenSchoenherr
      @JochenSchoenherr 14 днів тому +7

The EBU committees and boards consist of representatives of the participating broadcasters. Do you really think they would "instruct" the juries to vote for Nemo to prevent Israel from winning when they could have prevented Israel from participating before? If you look at the jury voting over the years, you will see that Nemo corresponds exactly to what juries at the ESC like, while a song like Baby Lasagnes is more of a televote favorite and is not so preferred by the juries. It´s the same situation than 2023 with Loreen and Käärijä.

@@JochenSchoenherrthere is no way in hell that 22 juries from countries that are geografically, culturaly so different all independently all gave 12 points to the Swiss. No way. If you want to say the juries award songs that are vocally more challenging or whatever "experts" appreciate, there were other great vocalists so in that case other countries should have gotten 12 points too.

    • @JochenSchoenherr
      @JochenSchoenherr 11 днів тому +2

@@Marina_-_- Of course, it is not only possible, but also obvious, for juries to rally behind an entry. In today's world, which is becoming ever closer together due to the media, the availability of unlimited transport options and globalization, the music world is also becoming ever closer together. Globally operating labels, international songwriting camps, festivals known almost worldwide and many more are an indication of international collaboration (and thus also the equalization of cultural differences in music) worldwide and (to an even greater extent) within Europe. That doesn't mean that these differences will disappear, but people who deal with music professionally as musicians, producers, label managers, songwriters or similar are usually internationally networked and musically influenced.
"The code" was created, for example, at an international songwriter camp in which 37 musicians, authors and composers from Switzerland as well as Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Belgium, Austria, Israel and Finland took part.

From what I've heard, Israel's delegation was filming other artists and people part of the press without their permission and there were many complaints reported about them to the EBU, but nothing was done about it (e.g. Käärijä wanted the video of him and Eden deleted but they refused). Instead Joost was disqualified for not wanting to filmed and that's another reason why people are so especially upset about it. Also Israel's commentator had some quite offensive comments about Ireland, which you can imagine is not really allowed.

These are all things you've heard from people who themselves have probably heard it from someone else. It's all just rumors and speculation. The fact is: The EBU stated that several delegations had violated the rules. Not only one. And that things are being investigated. The fact is also: Nobody (here) knows exactly why Joost was DQ. What you say (and what is said in the video) are just rumors (not facts). The thing is: the police were called and now the case is with the prosecutor. That makes me think there was more going on. The only thing that would make me watch the show again is if Käärijä comes back as a contestant. He has no reason to come back though. The EBU destroyed any remaining trust I had in them by throwing away millions of public votes just so the show could be held in Sweden on ABBA's 50th. Absolutely disgusting. Käärijä wants to be friends with everyone. This means that sometimes he doesn't think about protecting his brand. It's not the first time a similar thing has happened with him. He can be a bit naïve. If he had a better manager that sort of thing wouldn't happen, because a decent manager would keep him out of trouble. I'm guessing the right kind of manager is rare in Finland since they have so few international stars. Few people in Finland get any practice in these matters. You are very naive to think that the public votes apolitical. In Europe all the far right parties asked their member to vote for Israel. Also the Israeli embassy did this - much more than ever. This is also the reason why Turkey is not in it. Otherwise they would win a lot of the times with their diaspora. The juries really have to be there to be a little bit more honnest. Another option is to limit the votes to one per device. Now you can vote 20 times.

      @@DaneBramageROCKS It mostly is.
If the public votes would be given out like the jury votes, you'd see them as much more clustered.
Sometimes things are called political when it isn't. If you live in one country & your neighbour has a song in their language which you can understand as well or if their singer is popular in the whole region, you simply are much more likely to vote for it.
Yes, the UK will call foul & call this politics, but they do this themselves as well, see the times when they complain about points from/to Ireland & Australia.
Overthinking it has a great video about politics in Eurovision.
There have been bribes, see when Franco(Spanish dictator) wanted the win & sir Cliff Richard was second. Azerbaijan has also been rumoured to have done this. But at the same time there have been cases of countries buying up sim cards to influence the public votes. Israel has been accused of that this year as well, next to the(proven) Social Media campaign & advertisements.
But normally speaking the jury votes are much more spread out.
Where i wish the jury did better was to not always reward English pop songs. More or less; stop giving all those points to Sweden for forgettable songs.(pun intended)
It feels like you get punished for singing in your own language or doing a genre that isn't pop. Like Norway this year. The jury should've been aware of the singing technique called Kulning, shouldn't have disregarded a folk/metal song & shouldn't have punished a Norwegian language song.
The public simply voted for songs that had more of a chance like Croatia & Ireland.

I have been waiting for this video! :) Here are some of my thoughts:
I don't think the Juries had decided who the winner was going to be - Nemo's vocal ability became clear at the pre-parties, but even then he was not a favourite by the bookies. Last year was very different with Loreen becoming the runaway favourite from before she was even selected to represent Sweden. Käärijä got 12 points from 18 countries, whereas Loreen didn't get any, so the discrepancy between the Juries and the Public was massive. This year the Juries awarded Croatia a massive 210 points, with a couple of twelves, and several tens and eights (the next on the list, Italy, only got 164 votes from Juries). I love Rim Tim Tagi Dim (one of my favourites), but Nemo's The Code is much more complex, interesting and requires an insane vocal ability (especially when balancing on the circular disc). Juries also did not follow the odds, as last year with Loreen. Rim Tim Tagi Dim was always going to be a crowd pleaser, as it is a banger and easy to sing along to, and it gets you moving with the simple dance routine. In a way it brings people together, and this is a huge opportunity for Croatia going forward. Marko also has a good raspy rock voice. Nemo was on a different level with his vocal ability, but I can understand why rock fans would not get the rather avant-garde opera/rap combination.
Last year the Juries got it wrong, but this year, it is hard to complain about the Jury voting. Actually, when you look at the top 10 list voted by the Juries, there is quite a mix of songs, and they did not go just for the safe pop songs as is often the case. Even Armenia did well with a very ethnic and fun entry! Israel was also in the Top 12 by the Juries, despite many countries preferring not to vote for it. I was surprised about Juries voting for Ireland, but Bambie does have quite a vocal ability and the stage show, whilst too much for some, was exquisitely executed and the camera work was on point. It was pure theatre with a (scary) story. I prefer the music video, but this was visually impressive. They are definitely an interesting artist and brought something totally outside of the box to ESC!
    eurovisionworld.com/eurovision/2024#scoreboard.
When you look at the public votes, they were fairly evenly split between Croatia, Israel and Ukraine, and the split would have been even bigger had Joost performed. It is possible that Croatia would have fallen lower, with Switzerland winning and Israel coming second. In fact, Israel might even have won with the concentrated voting! (It is worth noting that there were big voting campaigns by right-wing parties in Europe with Members of Parliament in some countries encouraging their followers to vote for Israel, and Israeli government funding c. $1.5m social media campaign to drive votes their way - I assume this is against the rules).
A point about the public votes: in some countries it is expensive to vote (Finland: €1.00, Estonia €1.70, I think), whereas in some countries it is really cheap (UK: 15p and many others on those lines). If the voting is expensive, you tend to select a couple of favourites and give one vote for each. However, those who really want to make a statement will spend the full €20.00 (using the Finnish cost as an example). This happened with Israel's votes. Those who wanted to support Israel's cause (including supporters of far right politics) focused a lot of points to Israel, never having even heard the song. The same happened in other countries. Hurricane is not on the charts of many countries that gave it 12 points. If the votes were genuine, people would actually listen to it. However, in some countries that voted it the best song, it doesn't make even Top 200. Had Israel won, we would have one heck of a s*it storm on our hands. Luckily that didn't happen and Nemo will be a fantastic ambassador to repair some of the damage done this year.
As for the video about Käärijä and Eden Golan, I heard that Käärijä was not aware of who she was at the time (can't confirm if true), and he is very polite and will oblige if asked to do something. He would not have known the level of harassment other artists were getting from the Israeli delegation. I think he would have refused, had he been aware of everything that was happening, but it only came to light later. Only once the video was posted without his consent, and not removed for a long time despite multiple requests, he realised that he was being used on purpose. Unfortunately, this year ESC was going to be about politics, as EBU failed repeatedly to take the right action. EBU also failed to protect the artists and the press from harassment, and people did not feel safe.
A lot of changes will be needed to make next year's Eurovision happen, including a new sponsor to replace Moroccan Oil (Israeli company), as well as some big changes in the management of EBU.

@@DaneBramageROCKS I think the huge problem with Käärijä's video being published without his consent was the backlash he got from his followers, who misinterpreted the situation and some said horrible things about him. He was seen as a friend of Israel, and it became something else than just a fun moment and people turned against him. Israeli team were frequently filming people secretly (and possibly setting up situations, who knows - this is pure speculation from me, but this could have happened here). I agree with lots of things that you wrote, especially with people voting for Israel to make a statement. But, when it became obvious that Israel is making a voting campaign (invitations for voting were all over different global jewish sites and groups and it was also evident after italian mistake with publishing by accident results of televote of second semi-final) EBU was in big trouble and obviously trying to avoid catastrophy in case of Israels winning. Now, I don't deny that Nemo has more than decent vocal abilities but there were other artist with equal or even better vocal abilities imho (Slimane, Eden, Nutsa, Jerry Heil, Raiven, Gate, Iolanda - just to name a few) . Nemo was really very good, but not that good to have so many 12 points regardles of how other points were spread among other countries. It is very, very hard not to believe that at least part of those 12s given to Nemo weren't politically and strategically given (just like the low jury points for Israel). EBU couldn't risk with Israel and had to make huge jury vote points for one artist to ensure that Israel with low jury points won't surpass them because of enormous televote. They needed someone with good televote potential who will "eat up" part of Israels televote naturally - and they had it in people's favourite Baby Lasagna (who even managed to have more votes than Israel in the end). It should have been enough to secure Nemo's victory, so the next year the whole shabang goes to a strong country that can endure and handle all the shitty stuff (protests, incidents...) that happen on ESC.This year was very "odd" to say the least. I must say that regarding all the songs and the places they took or should have taken - I completely agree with Dane.

Thank you for interesting points! I didn't know all that about the Israeli advertising campaign. It makes sense they mobilised the religious circles as well to vote for their country.
I don't think there is any conspiracy to make Nemo win. The performance was quite a jaw-dropper. If you watch the reactions by vocal coaches on the song, it is easier to understand why it scored high from Juries. The opera part may not be to everyone's taste and a lot of people hate Nemo as an artist because of his gender identity and he got mocked for his dress, but the song still got 226 points from the public. Juries gave Croatia 210 points (actually a bit better than I expected - the song is a big favourite of mine, but it is not vocally as demanding, apart from needing a raspy rock voice - it is sung fairly 'flat'). The result could have literally gone either way.
The Juries gave over 100 points to all countries in the top 10, apart from Israel. That indicates that there were a lot of favourites, and songs scoring high. The Public and Juries also agreed on a lot of songs, but not all. I understand why, for example, Sweden would get better points from the Juries than the public: the song is superbly produced, very professional, and perfect for the radio, but it is fairly average to the listener. The voting is also not just on vocals, but on the song, the performance, staging and the whole package. This year was strong with so many good performers. Ukraine and France did both well (3rd and 4th). Apparently Slimane had a small break in voice in the Jury Show.
There are different tastes. For example I didn't like Slovenia that much (especially the vocals at the end), I loved Gåte (voted for it), but I knew people listening to it for the first time would not get the song because of the vocals. Iolanda's performance was super artistic and beautiful and she was flawless, but I doubt many people actually remember the song itself after hearing it for the first time (Juries loved it). I actually had to remind myself which song was Nutsa's, as there were so many female singers with male dancers. If the song is not memorable, it won't get many votes. Also if there are several songs that are similar, the votes get split and may end up being lower than they deserve.
It is what it is. A lot of people are super grateful for Switzerland winning this time, not only because they thought the song deserved to win representing something different, almost like a new genre, but also because Nemo is an amazing ambassador to Eurovision, and what it should be about. I think the upset about Croatia not winning, is partly because it would have been such a fairytale story. Croatia was the favourite to win at the end of the day, and if the Juries would have wanted to completely make sure Israel doesn't win, they would have concentrated everything on Croatia. Second place from Croatia was a super result! The song is a crowd pleaser and many people's favourite (mine too).

Him being out made people vote more for the other artists and saved us from Israel winning. Israel did not play fair this year by involving religious communities who never even watch the show, buying votes and spending a ton of money on commercials for their artist. Their president got involved too. For them it’s definitely political. And all the drama they caused backstage by following and harassing other artists and publishing videos where they sneak filmed other artist was just disgusting to watch. Honestly I can see both arguments for Nemo winning - the song and his costuming (boy in a dress!) along with the latest in identity politics was clearly finely honed jury bait. He's actually a rapper, he discovered his flag waving NB identity conveniently close to the competition (6 months earlier), the song came from a song writing camp for ESC, he had fairly recently been in LA and decided to start singing in English as opposed to Swiss-German for obvious market reasons eh, you know, add it all together, it showed, there was to me something very cynical about it all. Whole thing was a finely plotted and successful career move. Compare and contrast to Lasagna whose song wasn't written for anything but his own album, no plotting to win, no ID politics to bait the jury., just something that felt a lot more organic and less cynical. However Nemo's vocals were very ,very good and the staging phenomenal. Did remind me a lot of a west end theatre performance tbqh. I admit it doesn't speak to me one bit though. Croatia, Slovenia, Estonia, hell LATVIA, said a hell of a lot more to me than the 'winner'.

This is a very strange view in my opinion. Juries can also be pretty conservative, so I doubt this has nothing to do with Nemo's gender identity. The fact that Nemo got so many public votes, despite a lot of people hating his NB identity, confirms that people appreciated the song. Anyone who submits a song to national selection process is also thinking about their career in some way. What is cynical about it? BL also submitted the song to Dora - in English - even though it originally just missed out being selected.
Europe loves rock and heavier music, so Rim Tim Tagi Dim was bound to do well, and get to at least the Top 10, regardless of how the Juries voted. In fact, Juries also loved it and scored it high. The year was really strong, and not everyone can win. Winning is not the be all and end all though. Käärijä has a huge career in front of him for coming second (and in his case there was a massive discrepancy between Jury and Public votes, unlike this year where the top artists got good votes from both). It is what it is. Let's listen to our favourites and go and see them live where we can.

I was so relieved that they didn't win for that reason only. The song itself was good in my opinion but not a winning song.

Nemo was not originally my favourite, but top 5 anyway. It's amazing how good his vocals were, even during all that physical madness on the plate. So, I do think he deserved the win. But about the flag, I was thinking the same thing. I have nothing against the binary flag, but if EBU forbids it to be in the stadium, then Nemo did not only break the code and the trophy, but the rules as well. And much more clearly than Joost. Indeed, I have been a huge Joost fan from the beginning and will remain so, but this is really about consistency and justice. They can't apply one set of rules to one artist or delegation (and yes, everybody knows what I'm talking about, we've seen the harassment in their videos and heard the complaints from some other contestants) and then an entirely other set for others. It's just one big mess that needs to be sorted out so that it will never happen again, unless we like watching drama. Although I must admit that with Joost not being there, I mainly watched the final to see the drama. 🙂
On another note, my top five would also have included Croatia, Norway, and Finland (loved the vocals!).

It seems like a reasonable idea that the result should be left up to the people to decide. What could be bad about that, right? It's democracy, right? Many people say this every year, particularly if they favoured a song that did well in the televote and less well in the jury vote. Unfortunately, what everyone who says this doesn't realise is that Eurovision without juries has already been tried. And it was a total disaster.
They did it for several years and what they found happened was it changed the incentives in terms of what kind of songs countries sent. They stopped taking artistic risks. They stopped sending anything remotely creative. Lots of countries started sending lowest-common-denominator novelty songs to try to get the voting public on side. The rest stuck with safe ballads. Those years (in the 2000s - you can look this up) constituted some of the worst years in terms of song quality in Eurovision's history. That's why they brought the juries back. They're needed. The reality is that the public vote is much more political than the jury vote is. Sure, there can be a bit of political voting in some juries, but for the most part, much less than in the public vote. Most juries vote on quality as they perceive it and unlike the public, they have specific categories they're required to score each act on.
And the current balance is about right. 50%-50% works well, and I say that as someone who has occasionally been disappointed that my favourite didn't win because of it. It's still my preferred system, because it incentivises quality.
I'm slightly confused by your take that you never saw Switzerland coming as a dark horse. It wasn't even a dark horse. It was leading the odds several times during the run-up to Eurovision and was never out of the top five. I can only assume you didn't know that and were a little bit uninformed. When I saw Switzerland's performance in the final, I was blown away. Here was an artist who absolutely nailed opera, rap, and a nuanced pop vocal, all while balancing on a rotating disc like a skateboarding champion and carrying the performance completely solo, with no band or dancers and very little in the way of stage dramatics like pyro etc. Just a disc and some excellent lighting. Absolutely phenomenal. I loved Baby Lasagna too, but Nemo was different class in terms of songwriting, lyrics, and performance. A very worthy winner.

Thank you for your video and opinions. I don’t wish to sound negative because I like how the ESC is catching the attention of so many of you guys in the US. I do wish, though, that you’d read up a bit on the history of voting. Not that I’m an expert and I agree that some change would be great. But the EBU has experimented with various systems after introducing the publing votes (which is a fairly new phenomenon in the 68 year long history of the ESC). As far as I remember, the jury system was pulled back completely for a number of years but reintroduced simply because it changed the entries in a way which didn’t benefit the contest.
Anyway, I’m not being negative, just I think that it’s important to look at the history of it all and to acknowledge the complexity of it.
As for Israel: Russia and Belarus have been excluded due to their military attitudes toward other nations. This year, Israel is under trial for committing genocide. No conclusion has been made but even having that UN court (I don’t know the English name of it) take on the case shows that it’s serious, so at least it’s valid to question the EBU decision of letting Israel continue. Especially because the main sponsor of the ESC is an Israeli company. I agree, though, that it’s no fault of the contestant, but she did participate with a song which was originally called “October Rain” and has been quite vocal about wanting to join the Israeli army. Also, it has been confirmed that the Israeli government has actively been trying to promote the song and have politicians, etc from other countries publically support them.
In order to avoid “political turmoil” the EBU banned every symbol that could signal support for the Palestinians, yet there are also Palestinian Eurovision fans so many have thought that not being able to show support of that part of the fandom was a too political move of the EBU.
As for Nemo: knowing the criterias the juries have to follow, I’m not surprised that they won. And if Europapa had not been excluded, The Code would probably have won even more because it would have taken public votes from Croatia. That’s just speculation, though, and I feel so sorry for Joost Klein, but he did do somerhing which was severe enough that the Swedish police raised it to be decided in court (not very severe, and I hope that he will not face punishment).
But I agree that Croatia was best. They were my number 1, Norway my number 2. Btw I’m from Denmark and have been watching Eurovision since the 80s 😄

Most of my thought are based on what has been of late, coupled with the thoughts of recent news outlets and comments from the fans and supporters. So I to appreciate your brining all that forward! Each juror shall rank all the competing songs in each show from their least favourite to favourite based on the following criteria:
      - composition and originality of the song
      - quality of the performance on stage
      - vocal capacity of the performer(s)
      - overall impression of the act"
I checked mine & other countries & this checks out. It has a music station owner, a former contestant, a singer/songwriter & so on. Those former contestants are quite often jury members in later years. Juries vary per year, so you don't get the same jury twice. Did you know that the famous Charles Aznavour was once a member of the French Jury?
As i wrote elsewhere, i do wish the juries would vote less for the English uptempo pop songs, but the members ARE music professionals.

Joost Klein attending the final probably would've pulled points from Baby lasagna, making Nemo's victory more decisive.
Also I think you are very wrong about the public vote not being political. The jury vote was introduced to combat bloc voting, which was ruining the competition. Although Eden Golan had an amazing performance the public votes towards Israel this year was definitely very political.

    Ah, come on, not everything is a conspiracy 11:46 . . .
Also, you are essentially quoting what the dutch team has said, rather than witnesses. Off course they are going to support each other and play it down as they didn't want to get disqualified. They (the dutch team) also said that it was disproportionate and that they had suggested other solutions/because they themselves realized that something had to be done. Otherwise you don't suggest other solutions. Also admittning that something did happen with the word disproportionate. And plot-twist for the reader of this, i would most likely agree completely with the dutch team rather than with the EBU.
Another thing that you seem to have missed is that the women that experienced him (and vice versa) called the police on him. That was 100% the whole problem. That the police became involved, and that it went from being an argument to a real police investigation. Neither one of us that weren't there shouldn't be so quick to say that somebody accused of something didn't do it, just because they themselves say that they didn't. But the opposite of that is equally true. Namely that off course you can't just trust a random women that accuses somebody with something and think he's guilty of something either. But the police getting involved because of her calling them was the whole problem. And the EBU acted like a bunch of 🐈🐈🐈 🐈🐈 as soon as they heard the word police.
Would he/Joost have won? No. He wasn't the top contender in the odds, that was by far Croatia, and the people that liked him also usually like Croatias song (like you), and only 1 song wins. So basically, remove the Netherlands from the contest and that increases Croatias number of votes and include the Netherlands and both Croatia and the Netherlands loses votes to each other.
By the way. I'm inclined to believe that the journalist/women probably was an asshole. There is, so to speak, a grey scale between being a serious worthy journalist and a paparazzi/pest. And i would guess that she was closer to the latter. But that is obviously a complete guess, cause newsflash, none of us know. The pest just as easily could have been Joost.

You’re one of the best UA-camrs on my books. As an American, I’ve watched videos of young people raising flags in protest, yet they often lack clarity about the cause they’re rallying against. It’s disheartening that these individuals don’t invest time in understanding the issues before taking to the streets and causing chaos. Recently, I delved into the situation in Israel and Gaza, and it’s undeniably tragic for innocent people on both sides. Some reports indicate that over 60% of Palestinians voted in favor of the Hamas organization, effectively sidelining the opposition party advocating for peace with Israel. Additionally, it’s crucial to recognize that, similar to Ukraine, Israel faced attacks. During the Hamas offensive, hundreds of innocent civilians lost their lives or were abducted. My empathy extends to the civilians in Gaza, but I also feel for the victims in Israel.” 🌍🕊️

First off I think your reactions to all the events which were happening in Malmo was outstanding. Okay now onto the actual events. If you are at Eurovision and you pose for a photo, the expectation is that that photo will be seen in public. Kaarja has every right to ask for the photo to be taken down, but he obviously posed for it and it was only when it became public, and he was obviously thinking about his public image that he asked for it to be taken down and refused to give the jury votes for Finland. This to me makes Kaarja look bad as he is trying to publicly be someone who he thinks will be better received, but is not himself. The fact that the Israeli delegation was seen taking photos and uploading them without people's permission is a mute point because that has happened at every contest and no one has been bothered about it before this year, for some reason, which we all know, but are not allowed to say for fear of being tagged one thing or another. Three, the artists such as Bambie Thug, that overgrown child from Greece and others saying that they performed under immense pressure pales into insignificance, when the young lady from the nation whose name shall not be spoken, had death threats as well as 12,000 hate filled criminals standing outside her hotel room. That is real pressure, surely she must have thought for a second that when she walked out onto that stage there may have been some hate filled idiot in that arena who had a gun and may have used it, egged on by the despicable behaviour from fellow contestants, who would have had blood on their hands if that scenario had happened. And finally Sweden is one nation who takes domestic violence and violence against women seriously as they have some of the most stringent laws regarding this (just ask Julian Assange), so any behaviour towards females which is considered violent or threatening is taken extremely seriously and I say good on them. From what I have heard Joost did nothing wrong, but in that country he could be in some legal trouble. If there is vision of what I have heard happened, he will go close to jail time but maybe just a fine and a ban from entering Sweden. However any act who does behave badly should be excluded from the contest, I do not care who they are (and for the record Europapa was my favorite for this year, although with the staging he had in the semi final no way does he win and I think he does it tough to make the top 5 because the live staging had none of the comedic and poignant power of the music video). Just on the music, for me I had both Serbia and Norway in my top five so I was surprised they did not finish higher and while there were some surprises for me Bambie Thug and Germany were shocks. Bambie Thug's staging was one of the best live performances I have seen in Eurovision but like you, that genre of music is not my taste and she (that is the proper noun) is such a hate filled person that we do not need people like her ruining what Eurovision is supposed to be, a song contest. Germany is just a generic mainstream pop song and I think he got some of the votes from the traditional family viewers who watched a devil worshipper (nothing wrong with a bit of satanic symbolism but we do not want it thrust down our throats), a guy from England who must have thought he was in his own private sex dungeon doing a pre-intercourse erotic tease for his friends that were present, and a guy from Finland who is the 2024 version of Benny Hill. I have a sneaking suspicion that the minority groups who love Eurovision want the casual fans to go away and just let them have their own event, and if things keep going the way they went this year then that will be the case by 2034 because more nations will not enter, the big 5 will say it is not worth financing and contests such as Melodifestival and San Remo will become the more popular events because they are still about the music and not what cause or issue is trendy this year.

The juries are just a bunch of cowardly hypocrites who know their names are being published and are trembling in fear of the Muslims and the toxic fandom. If they had behaved professionally and not with fear and hypocrisy They wouldn't give zero points to Israel for Eden's phenomenal live performance that was done under terrible conditions that she was the only one who had to deal with it in all her rehearsals and performances in this year's competition, and given so many Douze points to Switzerland. They did it on purpose so that Israel wouldn't win and also fucked Croatia out. And as for Joost, From what I understood the Swedish photographer filed a complaint against him to the police and that's why the production had to remove him from the competition, because once it goes to the police it's become criminal case. The problem is that no one knows what really happened there.
