@@Brook11223Chrichton’s widow said the initial ER pitch was about Carter mentoring new doctors on a particularly rough night at Cook County. This looks to be the exact same thing but with the real time conceit added.
Ever wondered why the US churns out medical dramas like they're on some kind of prescription? My theory: people love watching something that’s either painfully real or wildly fantastical. You’ve got crime shows, which give us a gritty dose of reality, and superhero sagas, Marvel, DC, or action heroes, that let us escape to worlds where capes solve everything. But medical dramas? Oh, they’re the perfect hybrid. For Americans, they tick both boxes. They reflect the brutal reality of how fragile life is hello, ER-style heart attacks and last-minute saves but they also dish out fantasy in spades. The fantasy part? That’s the healthcare system itself. Most Americans watching these shows couldn’t dream of affording the jaw-dropping, god-tier medical interventions they see on screen. State-of-the-art hospitals, miracle drugs, and doctors who actually listen to you? It’s basically Avengers: Endgame but with stethoscopes. So, these shows become a sort of double-edged entertainment. On one hand, they’re relatable because, yes, bodies are fragile and everyone’s scared of hospitals. On the other, they’re escapism, like watching superheroes. Only here, the superheroes are doctors, saving lives with infinite resources, impeccable timing, and a level of insurance coverage that’s straight out of science fiction. In a way, it’s the perfect American cocktail: reality with a hefty splash of "if only.
I get a kick out of writers who include DX of pheochromocytoma so often. neuroendocrine tumors like pheos and paraganglioma are so rare, they should show up in an ER on most medical shows. AND, diagnosed so quickly. Believe me, I've had a paraganglioma. 😅
Kinda funny to see it billed as an "original" series when it was supposed to be an ER reboot but WB didn't want to pay Michael Crichton's widow for the rights.
Yes! So looking forward to it. 😅 code black was awesome then lost its mojo. Hopefully this series can go the distance. Nothing has been like ER and greys died after they killed Derek off
Finally, John, where he belongs. ER forever.
Mora than a hundred likes and no comments? Let me fix that
We'll take it, but too bad it wasn't an official spin off.
Is he actually playing Dr. Carter?
Why am I crying?? Welcome back Dr.Carter!
Close enough. Welcome back Dr. Carter.

You set the tone, Carter
ER crossed with 24???? Im in!!
dr carter welcome backkkkkkk
He's not Carter, although he should be.
"You set the tone."
Cool to see Shawn Hatosy in this and John wells as producer since they both worked on Animsl Kingdom and that show was great
Don't forget Southland
@stefansaladziak1784 oh yeah good show as well!
Dr. Carter in the house!
Omg. I’m a big er fan. So ready for this!
Thanks for being my great fan so far and may God continue to bless you
They should've called it "ER: The Next generation"
It is an E.R sequel and that' Carter. Nothing can change my mind.
It was supposed to be but they couldn’t get the rights.
Good to see Shawn Hatosy ! And Noah well is a legend
Thanks for being my great fan so far and may God continue to bless you
Literally feels like a sequel series to ER.
That's why the Michael Crichton estate is suing WBD, John Wells, Noah Wyle and other executives for this series.
@@90abaker I heard about that case and after seeing this first trailer I was like wow this looks too much like ER.
@@Brook11223Chrichton’s widow said the initial ER pitch was about Carter mentoring new doctors on a particularly rough night at Cook County. This looks to be the exact same thing but with the real time conceit added.
@@DeadpoolNegative It definitely looks like that with Carter mentoring the new generation of doctors lol. It's not a different show.
@@DeadpoolNegative It's literally also saying from the producers of ER or something in the title logo LMAO.
And yes, you set the tone Carter - wouldn’t have minded it if they let him play it as Carter.
Sure I’ll love it ❤
Long time no see Noah!
I need this to continue! Literally raised on hospital dramas, ER being one of them! Where to watch in the uk? Sky go? Now TV?
If I can handle ER, then I will have to look forward to watching to this series in the new year.
Hope we get some ER cameos!
God I used to have such a crush on him when he was on ER!
The medical drama is John's forte. Welcome back John and Dr. Carter!
I mean, a mix of Pope and Carter - from two of my favourite ever TV shows. I'm so there
15 episodes for a streaming service! Incredile! Soooo gooooddd!!!! :D
IKR? Just noticed that the new Dune show got 6 episodes. Geez. That's more like a limited series, not an actual show with multiple seasons.

You summed this up perfectly wow your analysis is on point 😂

Can't wait to see Noah Wyle!
HE SAID THE THING!
Ive been waiting for this trailer! Binged all of ER this year and going to rewatch it until The Pitt comes out👏❤️
I am waiting for this amazing series
So it is ER combined with 24's format. Will Keifer Sutherland be making a crossover appearance? I will check out based on the talent around it.
This looks to be ER meets The Bear. I'm all for it. 🔥
Carter still setting the tone
Nice to see you again Dr. Carter
Dr. Carter step in the footsteps of Dr. Greene. Can wait to watch it and waiting for ER veterans like Kerry Weaver.
For a moment I thought I was back in time, in my childhhod, watching ER on telly with my family.
Hey Dr. Carter, so this is where you ended up. Good to see you again doc.
He finally got another shot at it! I will have to resume my Max sub!
Looks good. The amped up language will make it feel more intense and realistic
"The job that keeps on giving"
See what you did there... 😂😂😂
The legend himself
A TV-MA medical show. Can't wait.
I love Noah Wyle.
DOCTOR CARTER!!!
15 episodes for a streaming service? Amazing! Please bring back 24 episodes tv shows
Let’s gooooo Patrick!! I see you boy!!
This show is going to be amazing, the team is incredible and the plot line is sick!
"Dr. Greene? Are you coming?"
Where's Nurse Hathaway? 😊
"Welcome to the Pitt, ya jags! Yinz are in my hahs, now!"
ALRIGHT.IM GETTING THIS.
Fine by me. Love it.
Missed Wyle! 🎉
Thanks for being my great fan so far and may God continue to bless you
ER and Animal Kingdom together at last! LESSGO!
You set the tone Max
So excited! 🎉
Thanks for being my great fan so far and may God continue to bless you
Think one of the producers is suing claiming this is basically a sequel series to ER. Seems the comment section agrees lol
Well they are both set in a hospital. Deals with the ER. 🤷♂️ I think since Noah Wyle was onboard they wanted to use his old character as the lead.
Dr. Carter is the new Dr. Greene. I'm ready.
I'm not a fan of emergy series but this look really good !
Current show I'm working on! 🤯🤯
Give this to me right now
I love that the girl couldn't reach the top of the door like the guy
Thanks for being my great fan so far and may God continue to bless you
Noah Wyle? I think. Anyway, looking forward to seeing him back in the er.
My sister was an ED doctor for a decade. It's weird to see it all dramatized like this. In real life it's nothing like this
Great

Dr. Carter is back!
This is what I thought 24 was. The most insnaee 24 hours of someone’s life 🤣
Aaaaaaaa ❤
Thanks for being my great fan so far and may God continue to bless you
Dr. Michael Robinavitch also known to many as Dr. John Carter.
I am going to watch it for the actor “bob” from animal kingdom
Its the Librarian!
Oh yeah 🎉❤
Flynn FINALLY retired from the Librarian
Damn, even HBO is doing medical drama. But, it's HBO prestige. Can't wait.
This is the same series that the Michael Crichton estate sued the show, network, and Noah Wyle over. It looks great. But it's also giving ER.
NOT MY GREYS ANATOMY
Welcome Back Kotter
ER 2.0
This looks interesting.
15 episodes, better than 8 or ten
ER spin-off: Carter’s Tone
Glad to see pope turn his life around
Can't f....g wait.
Noah Wyle, The og steve jobs actor.
I wonder if he'll be seeing most of his patients in the waiting room as most ER doctors are forced to do now.
Thanks for being my great fan so far and may God continue to bless you
So thats where Soji Soong ended up in the timeline, protecting people...
Me expecting Brad Pitt Origin Story 👁👁
Dr. Carter!!!
So an R-rated sequel to ER? :)
So Dr. Carter moved to Pittsburgh in his middle age years? Ok, yeah, I could see that
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
And hear, I thought this would be based on "The PITT", not whatever this is.
CARTER!!! The show should be called Carter. Ok? Theenks.😅
I hope the hospital has a good Library ? 😉
what about a "Pink Panther and Pals"?
(-mia)
Noah Wyle? Thought that was Pablo Schreiber from Halo
After being president during a time of national rebuilding after alien occupation, Tom Mason went back to work in a hospital ER
Please Dr Benton show up
The show feels like a more serious version of House M.D
I'm getting more of a "St. Elsewhere" meets "24" vibe.
Cool but, Just give me my welcome to derry trailer lil bro😭🙏
