my younger siblings were born after i stopped watching arthur, you can bet im making them watch all these old episodes with me (responsible older sibloing things)
5:45 It's so surreal how a show like this has this one specific moment of wacky, overexaggerated animation when the whole rest of the show doesn't do anything like that. It kinda makes me wish the older seasons had more moments like this.
In all fairness Mrs turner is close friends with Mr Ratburn she was probably well aware of the coming wedding. She also knows his handwriting and that he wouldn’t make so many grammatical or spelling errors
@@ilovedragonball2435that reminds me of Francine having a neighbor and muffy sent the letter to the neighbor and the neighbor returned the letter with spell checka
"Liberry" is actually how I pronounced "library" when I was little! It's so funny hearing Mr. Ratburn say it that way (hearing him reading the whole message is funny!)
The weird thing about seeing compilations like this is that I remember basically all of the moments but almost none of the context. I watched plenty of this show as a kid and have probably seen all the older seasons, but not quite enough of it stuck with me for me to remember full episode plots.
I have the opposite occur. I didnt remember most of the show until seeing these compilation clips and I suddenly remember a lot of the context. Its like unearthing a huge section of my mind that hasnt been dusted off in what feels like eons
There's also a theory that Ellwood City is a segregated society because there's only a few times you see reptile people in the background and they're only doing menial service jobs. Mammal supremacy is such a weird concept
The clip with the ducks at 1:58 almost has the exact same vibe as that scene in the lifeguard episode of SpongeBob where he lies about there being sharks in the water, which then cuts to a family of offended anthropomorphic sharks. It can be a challenge deciding on what characters should and shouldn’t have human-esque qualities when making a show where everyone is an animal.

"Why do you insist on embarrassing me like that?" Muffy and Francine had an interesting relationship. They were certainly friends, but Muffy never stopped being the wealthy alpha b--ch, keeping their contrast strong.
As an adult who is around adults doing adult things especially at adult work, I have an entirely new perspective seeing some of these career people like the teachers.
The context in the episode was that they wanted Francine's sister to marry Muffy's brother. They thought that would make them sisters, for some reason.
With those eyes you'd think they were brainwashed. On that topic, amazing how Vampburn could do that with a simple point of the finger, let alone make them say "we do not like recess".
All these videos on shows saying "out of context" and they usually makes sense to me, even if I don't know what's happening exactly. That song with adult Francine and Mollie, though...I had to pause that one.
One never realizes how many fever daydreams you have as a child until you go back on old 90's cartoon clips, where that thought process feels normal to kids. What happened to the first Out of Context?
0:13 I never understood that joke until now oh god the dad thinks arthur showed Buster some adult books 😂
ehe
Same. Adulthood is understanding things we didn’t back then
OMFG
I'm sorry but that don't make sense in the context of the episode🤣
And this is coming from a mega Arthur fan
And it wasn't supposed to be dirty joke
Time sure does fly… I loved watching Arthur as a kid, especially when I stayed home from school. Now I Can’t wait to rewatch these with my daughter.
I feel the same way, but I’ll only show my kids these versions of Arthur not the new animation ones, they feel lifeless
You can sure say that again now that the show is finished
my younger siblings were born after i stopped watching arthur, you can bet im making them watch all these old episodes with me (responsible older sibloing things)
As long as you show the old seasons. The new seasons are woke trash.
I like the old classic episodes of Arthur they are my favorites

isn't it just a warner bros' animation style type of gag

I love how ms turner didn’t bat an eye at the fake love letter from mr ratburn and just handed them a beginner’s guide to writing poetry

For those who can't read cursive, yes, he did indeed spelled "library" as "liberry".

What an iconic show. Well-written while instilling morals in kids.
There's a few terrible ones but yeah the show is overall really solid
