The Jaguar Cichlid is my favorite and it’s what got me into the hobby. I have one with an arowana. It was literally the only fish I could find that was compatible because of the aggression levels. Truly an awesome fish! Love the videos bros
Me too.... Jaguars are my all time favourite and got me into the hobby as well even though I had a bunch of people tell me that it isn't suitable for beginners. But i was immediately drawn to his aggression and personality. Besides they are quite hardy.
My favorite is Parachromis Dovii. I keep a pair in my acrylic 180. Most intelligent cichlid I have ever kept. Only for hardcore fish keepers, hyper aggressive and need large tanks.
The Maskaheros Argentea (Silver Cichlid or Maskaheros Vieja) is at the top of my bucket list fish. Ever since I saw one a Prime Time Aquatics video, it's the reason I started the list.
@@CichlidBros Hellooo, good evening sir, sorry if I disturb,i just want to ask,a 100 liter tank is ok for one flowerhorn ?Max 2 flowerhorn? And can I ask you the scientific name of the peacock bass?and last thing,i like big fishes,in particular ciclids, but the max i can afford for a tank i a 100-150liter tank ?What can i buy? I like them playful and aggressive!!!
Excellent list...I have owned every one on your list but the Yellow Jacket (never heard of it before but it looks like an awesome fish)...my absolute favorite was the dovii, red devil and the butterikoferi from Africa...all mean little bastards
I love this video. I have a Convict juvenile and a firemouth cichlid in my 90 gal South American cichlid tank. All the cichlids seem so beautiful. All of my fish are juvenile but I can't wait to see all there growth and personality when they get adult size. Not sure how long that takes but they are still pretty to watch swim around. Appreciate the video. I may want to add a blue acara but my favorite fish in my tank right now is my turquoise Severum. He is getting big and has a cool personality,
red tiger motaguense is my favorite right now! I just got into these fish and they just i don’t know won me over. Would love to see you guys get into them!
Dovii and Umbies along with black nasties are the most aggressive Central American cichlids I’ve ever had. But oh so beautiful… personal favorite is the Synspillum though.
Just set up a 75 with juvenile Dempsey, convict, and Firemouth as per the Bros recommendation. Geophagus steindachneri in the mix as well. He was too feisty for my South American 75
I'm from Central America. Maybe I should keep some cihlids from Nicaragua. Hehe. I've seen how big some of those cihlids can get! They look as big as some big salt water fish. We got some huge lakes in Nicaragua 😊. Thanks for the video
I purchased a used 80 gallon tank a couple of years ago. It came with everything including fish. I purchased the whole setup. It took less than a week to decide the Red Devil, Bob the Builder, had to be removed from that tank as he was determined to kill my Tiger Oscar, who was my favorite fish ever, but he died of cancer a few weeks ago. 😢 My other fish are a Jack Dempsey and a common Pleco. Awesome fish, all of them, but just for pure entertainment value, Bob takes the cake. His acrobatics are amazing. 😅
Convicts like Loonie, are amazing fish to keep, they play with you and recognize you. Just a warning to never breed them because 1. they produce around 40-50 eggs maybe more and 2. once they get big, nobody would want to buy them. I sold 15 out of 35 convict and it took me 3 months to sell them and 3. The male kills the female after 5 months after breeding, just like how mines killed Toonie (RIP)
I’ve had a similar experience with Firemouths both of mine were super docile and my convict that was their tank mates became a monster and stressed both the Firemouths to the point they lost color and passed away unfortunately. So I got a green terror for my convict and that terror keeps him in line he doesn’t even try to attack that thing.
Were did you get those long tal tree roots? That would be nice in my tall tank. Also, the Red Devil is the most aggressive fish I have seen. The Jaguar is no joke neither.
Never kept central americans (i've only been on the more calm south american side such ad discus or Apistos or Rams) but i really like the firemouth since It is not a terror and you don't need a giant aquarium and of course its colours and his behave
I keep a 20 gallon cichlid grow out. I have a rainbow cichlid, Bolivian Ram, turquoise Severum, 2 Kribensis, and 2 algae eaters. I will move the Severum into a bigger tank soon and might switch over to a aggressive cichlid Growout
Jaguar cichlid, Red Devil cichlid, Dovii aka the Wolf cichlid, Jack Dempsey cichlid, Texas cichlid, Convict cichlid, Firemouth cichlid. This is a good one the Black Nasty, I heard they are super aggressive but they don't have them in pet stores that much. Another one is the Cuban cichlid. Also are Savini cichlids easy to find, never had that one before.
Hey I love your videos I just had one question so basically I have a massive 100 gallon American cichlid tank which I stocked about two weeks ago and I have two Oscar’s one chocolate cichlid one gold severum a green terror electric bourbon jack dempsy and a pleco all are juveniles expect for the pleco and the severum and I was just wondering if I had room for a couple more cichlids or not and was just wondering what everyone thought?
I love Firemouth Cichlids they are awesome fish, I have 4 in my 180 gallon tank and other 3 in a 40 breeder, They are mostly show offs rarely do they go beyond flaring to a real attack. They are very terriorial
Yeah that's debatable. Bloodlines have been muddied so much over the years, you will see tons of fish that look like a mix. Either way they are so close, it's just being pedantic to mention it
Aggression seems widely varied even in same species. You guys have a peaceful Jack, mines named J.D. (Jeffrey Dahmer) because he will kill anything he can catch. Even killed my Firemouth.
Bro I had to give my 10 inch Jaguar cichlid back today, he killed my convict who was spawning. I swapped him for a big green terror and he’s not 1% as aggresive
my fav central American is the jack Dempsey. truly an amazing cichlid

My favourite central is Cryptoheros sajica so often overlooked but grow into stunning adults with a semi aggressive nature
The Jack Dempsey has awesome colors

I had a jaguar cichlid for 10 year her size was about 10’ awesome fish
My favorite would have to be my Managuensis. Solo fish in a 5ft tank. Mean as a rattlesnake and twice as fast.
Oscars (south american) and jaguar cichlids (central American) are my favorite big cichlids.
Dovii and Umbies along with black nasties are the most aggressive Central American cichlids I’ve ever had. But oh so beautiful… personal favorite is the Synspillum though.

Wow, some of these juvenile* Texas Cichlid patterns look very similar to the three-hole gouramis!
The scaping in a couple tanks. The reboot long ones?? Haha. Where did you get those??
What type of fish is that with the bright red at 7:45
the jaguar and jack dempsey are my favorite fish from central america cichlids . I have bouth :D

My favorite central American Cichlid is the parrot these category of Central American ciclid is cute
Loved my old jag but used to get the shits with it pretty emptying half the substrate from one side of the tank to the other...

Yep, they seem to one of the more hit or miss cichlids when it comes to aggression
Could anyone please tell me what kind of fish that bright red/ pink fish is at 7:44?
Zebrina pike cichlid
I love my Texas cichlid
Were did you get those long tal tree roots? That would be nice in my tall tank. Also, the Red Devil is the most aggressive fish I have seen. The Jaguar is no joke neither.
The firemouth is actually a whole genus of cichlids that have somewhat different colour patterns and optimal water parameters.
Where did you get that background from the trees in the water with the red devils?

I have a Female Salvini she is about 5 inches never shown any aggression so surprised to hear you talk about how aggressive they are.
I actually have a red devil in 150 gallon with my turtle. I cant put anything else in that tank cause them two both bully anything new.
You forgot the umbee, dovii.
You should have combined yellow jacket and Jaguar so you could have added the Nicaraguan Cichlid to the list 😂

When a fish is named after a boxer you know it’s aggressive. When they gonna name a shark after Mike Tyson?
Trimac
Guys why don't you add the Texas Cichlid to your South American tank?
It's a bit too aggressive for some of them, and I kinda want to keep it to South Americans
That first Texas you showed isn’t a Texas cichlid it’s a carpintis cousin to a Texas.
