- ONEblademag went back to Eindhoven, Netherlands in February for the 2019 Winterclash. This is what we witnessed at Area51 skatepark.

Do it man. Im 31 and been back skating for about 3 years. I skated hard from 2000-2009 and a break from 2010-2017... YOU GOTTA get some Razor SL's/Shifts or try the new USD Aeons, or THEM 908's. Skating is alive and well.

All those people at AREA 51 for BLADING in 2020!! WE HERE FOREVER. WATCH the FISE tour!! Guys like Joe Atkinson, Diako Diaby, Jaro Frijn, Yuto Goto. They all destroy parks meant for BMX. So much stronger with companies being SKATER OWNED and operated. Jon Julio is leading the way. Its beautiful. Blading will be given a shot at the XGAMES in 2 years. Its in the works. The sport has progressed so far. The FISE tour knows how to throw a blading comp! THERE IS SOOOO MUCH MONEY OUT THERE NOW. Danny Beer who rides for THEM skates is making awesome royalties. Skaters just need a chance for exposure with events... Like the FISE tour, Winterclash, and Blading Cup. Razors and USD are doing great things as well for their pro skaters. The sport is so much stronger at its core because its mostly OWNED BY BLADERS - FOR BLADERS! The companies now care and with COVID all skate shops sold out worldwide basically. Good luck finding any size 9 or 10 XD. Razors even is making the SHIMA 2's again!!

So many people, damn! Is there a way to find other bladers? I've only ever saw one other blader in my whole life, and I live in a big town in Germany, so not liek in the outback or something...
Fucking amazing. I'm so happy skating is back. Some guy in the comments said about skating and style is what makes skating so fucking good, and looks sexy as fuck. One thing I am glad that didnt come back though, is the super huge baggy jeans! My skates would always get caught under my jeans. Good old K2 fatty Pros, Razor Flats, Salomon st 70 at xmas. Those were the days. 30+ old dude.

Of course it was in the netherlands, Bring the sport back to America, it needs exposure. The sport has evolved, the blades are different from 90s, early 2000s, and more technique is applied into tricks. I think If this was showcased in America it may changes people's perspective of what once was, now refined.

Tbf the Netherlands is an awesome place to visit especially for something like Winterclash!
The scene has definitely moved away from the state's and more towards Europe and Asia. The scene is really healthy if you know where to look

I ride scooters, but I've always loved and respected blading. I find bladers have the most style , and it's a shame that there is so much hate towards blading :/.
... scooters...no steaze... What are you 19? 17? less? Sorry...you weren't rocking it like a G in the mid 00's... There's a big 3 for a reason. Bike, Board, and Blade. And to get to the top of blading you had to put your body on the line more. The X-Games removed blading almost bc of that. More falls = less visually pleasing runs, and therefore lower presumed enjoyment of the sport. Was also less of a cash cow than bike and board... they made a monetary based decision to remove blading... scooters have ALWAYS been just a thing to roll on as a kid... nothing more than transportation for 12 y/o to go get their own code red MTDEW at the mart...
@@Habeev07 I'm 20 and honestly don't know what your point is. my comment was nothing but a compliment to blading. I grew up on skating and I also skate as well and ride bikes just like every other mature scooter rider does. If your here to argue then im out dude! Have a good day
the scooter peeps dont have a problem at all with bladers, actually nor do the bmx or skateboarders....unfortunate kids are always playing bravado, thus saying one is better than the other. I have always found that once you get to a certain level or maturity - you just respect the damn effort everyone puts into the sport they have chose and cheer for when they land something sweet....or when one falls, you make sure they are ok.
@@retroafro1 if I could shake your hand, I would! It's so refreshing to see someone like yourself over the internet, especially in a sea of hierarchy with popular opinion vs logic. You hit the nail on the head there, and it's unfortunate that kids enforce allot of popular ideas these days, but aye, that's pop culture for you. Kanashima and Montre were out there. But I agree. Aragon still drops 900's in 2018, according to their podcast talk earlier last year. Amazing if he would make a brief appearance or something back in the scene. I been blading since about 2000-2001? Daily Bread magazine and Senate - Project Mayhem on VHS. Recently turned 30 and rocking the SL's. Blading is the illest discipline. Brink - SOUL SKATERS
right I feel you on that, I remember being 14-15 and watching Aragon, Haffey, Farmer, Montre and B-free and learning so much from them. those were the good days man. wish there was more of a love for the sport still though.

I call it blading. Skating. Aggressive inline. Rollerblading. etc.. BLADING is the go to for me. BRINK - SOUL SKATERS!! Epic Disney movie.
I have never called it "blading". Where I come from "blader" is an insult, like you would call a wack graffiti artist a "toy" or a poser bodyboarder a "boogie boarer". We all just call it skating, because that's what it is.

I'm knocking skateboarding here (as I quite like it) but as a frootbooter myself I look at this and wonder why it's doesn't get its own spot on the x games jo more with proper best trick contests. I watched the skateboard best trick and people went wild for a 180 kick flip down a 5 set of stairs which won BTW.

The atmosphere is like that because there is not a single one coming from a "Tony-Hawks-Pro-Skater" type of commercial. They all live and love rollerblading. Not that there are none in the skateboarding community, but it`s flooded with toxic-wannabe-skaters who just hang at the skatepark trying to look cool fail-trying kickflips for hours.

Le niveau en plus 20 ans est devenu régressifs..ta que les filles pour réchauffer le truc de base tellement ont est loin du niveau des années 2000...et les pauvre toutne elle ont du courage avec cette mode newschool en mangeant moulin bite avec des tricks de niveau assez bofbof et encore si le délire des wah! a tout bout de chant façon lèche moi bien ta vu m'est truck profite profite qui pu en plus en Park ça lamentable franchement le roller par en couille... Sans les meuf c mort mais je crois que la nouvelle génération interprète mal le truc...bref vive les Park...espoirs au meuf je désespère...Limogeau de l'époque fish Brain roces senate 50\50 cosmo et Aragon 1.1...pour se qui ont la nostalgie niveau bol de Marseille année 96/7 en poppy' et dealy Brain tant que yora des Girls ça relèvera le niveaux...
