I'm so very sorry he never got to play Western legend, Bass Reeves, who was the real life "Lone Ranger" in a well financed Hollywood role. But if he had of, it would have uncovered the great lie (omission) Hollywood perpetuated by creating a White "Lone Ranger". So, I guess that was never going to happen. What a shame...
fred was right on point with his 'three rules' demand. it's fulfilling to see a handsome black hero on scene coming out a winner. ron o'neal (as gorgeous as he was) was never offered sexy and winning hero roles after the success of 'super fly'. sad...he was definitely made for those roles.
Fred raises a lot of questions for me on just what the new black action figures are needed to be like in today's market. Fred's bravado is positive firstly causing enthusiastic fun and interest while Mike Tyson may be an alarming character for various aspects of the public. Michael Strahan may be the latest top contender for the range but its unclear as far as technique and action figure popularity concerns for guys like Terry Crews and Dwayne The Rock.
Wow! What a great interview with the Hammer and I am proud of this brother's success cause he is from my City,Gary Indiana and Fred stated on the next street from my family and went to school with my uncle and when he comes home from a break from football and acting, Fred always came to visit my family and he would set at the table and drink a beer or two talking for a couple hours and this was during the early 60's.I remember him telling my grandparents that he were a engineer.Fred would be in his parents backyard doing some karate moving and we kids be in the alley playing around and a couple of times Fred seen us or someone doing something wrong,we like here's come Fred and he give us a good talking lesson and he will say at the end.I know all of y'all parents. And a few times when we see the "Hammer" we would go talk to him and he was the one that told us about Bruce Lee were his karate teacher and we were like who is Bruce Lee and he said watch this new TV show called Green Hornets and my cousins had their dog with them named poor boy and I believe this is were Mr.Williamson got his company name from.Anyway Fred were very intelligent and cool.
I see it's only 32 people who responded to this where are the black People in Hollywood who need too hear this oh I know there listening to the white man who tells them what roles to play and be THEY ALL CAN LEARN ALOT FROM FRED WILLIAMSON
Well I didn't know Fred was that intelligent but what a kid knows. But he became our hero during the 70's in the G and we would go watch his movies at the theater and drive-in to cheer for our homie, especially when he was kicking butts.
the term "blaxploitation" was coined by junius griffin who was a black publicist and ex head of hollywood naacp. the black media and other black spokespersons railed against these films as promoting derogatory images of african americans. after so much boiling over hollywood announced they were going to discontinue making black films. fw's three demand rule was brillant. blacks want to see movies end with the black heroes ending up winners.

I along with others back in the day were ecstatic to go to the movies to see different portrayls of us on the movie screen.Of course we patronize actors as Jim Brown who was the 1st to transcend football to movie, then Fred. They, and other black stars were famous,as,Ron oneal, pam grier,Richard roundtree,Isaac Hayes and others. But,to listen to him speaking about us on unity,he should be the last person on that issue.Back then we blacks were the foundation of watching his movies, which included black men and women, but now in his movies you can count them on one hand especially the females. He did just like all black men when they become rich. They go and marry white women and forget who helped them along the way.If he doesn't walk the walk,he shouldn't talk the talk.IJS
the word "blaxploitation was not coined by whites as fred williamson states. it was actually created by ex-naacp head and one time publicist junius griffin. ron o'neal reported that griffin was disgruntled with his inability to obtain the contract for 'super fly' he so badly wanted. he then went in hard after the black movie genre...labling them blaxploitation films.
Arrogant, obnoxious fred williamson who back in the day, reached out to us melanin beautiful ladies for inclusion in his movies. But soon, like o.j.simpson and other black men who become famous,he began swirling and still is.Back in the day hollywood wasn't allowing it.Maybe, that's why he moved to Rome.As we see in his later movies, very, very few melanin ladies are included. And maybe he just swirled to prove a point to hollywood,as he said he enjoyed going against the grain. During his earlier time interracial appearances weren't happening on the big screen, maybe, beginning in the late 70's,it gradually leaned in that direction. I must add he is talented and was handsome.Oh,by the way,he thinned his lips more and straighten his nose more. And yes,he can talk much _ _ _ t.😃😃😃
My man, Fred Williamson has been a positive mentor and force for me, since I was 15 years old. Thank you sir, for your influence and life force.

Well I didn't know Fred was that intelligent but what a kid knows. But he became our hero during the 70's in the G and we would go watch his movies at the theater and drive-in to cheer for our homie, especially when he was kicking butts.
The Hammer is very talented. He did die in at least one film.
I Love The Hammer
There is a good book on Fred Williamson called The Hammer an American Hero by Harold D. Edmunds.
He is right on point about 'us' putting down 'us'. 7:35
They call him boss.
Mr. Williams is the truth.
Despite the Subject Matter Of BLACK CAESAR, I LOVED HIS CHARACTER BEATING UP THAT CROOKED COP WITH THE SHOESHINE BOX!!!!!!
So sharp and strong. Him and Jim Brown should've collaborated on some projects.
Truth!

Dorothy Brewer Ron O'Neal explained that to be true in the '97 four part interview.
He is Dion Sanders real father. lol
Fred Williamson is the original Tyler Perry..
Adios one goes with Richard pryor
In the ending of black ceasar Fred Williamson got beat up.

Most of the movie he produced are so bad you can barely make it through the whole movie. I think he swirled in movies to spite people
I'm producing Fred's new film...check us out! www.kickstarter.com/projects/williamxlee/smith-and-wesson

Yes, the man has some sense.
