What do you think of SDC's demise?
We were somehow able to get a refund a day before they filed for bankruptcy because after the alligners arived, they were excruciatingly painful
They left 500 employees in Costa Rica without their payment , they just disconnected the system without saying a Word and they just sent an email saying : “ you are fired and you will not receive any payment”
Glad they're gone. Should always be doing something like this under the supervision of a dentist, this is dangerous. Even for the price, the price of this vs dental office Invisalign, you are only paying a couple thousand more. It hardly seems worth the destruction of your teeth for about $2k.
They tried a new idea but clearly it didn't work out
Since it didn’t affect you, of course, you are glad they are gone. It affected me and I am very much upset that they are gone.
When i first heard about them was like cool they are helping people oth their teeth and saving them money thats a decent business. Then i saw their financials and i was like what are they thinking
It got messy quickly!
I had very good results with sdc me and my daughter. But I also didn’t neglect my dental treatment. I still saw my regular dentist in person, and I also saw an local orthodontist just to make sure my teeth were perfectly fine.
I was hoping to receive my touch up aligners, but won’t. But I completed the main program.
It wasn't suited for everyones teeth situation but they still took people on!
I’m on my last aligner now but it clearly isn’t even close to fixing my crooked/overlapped front tooth. I paid off my loan in full already too! Paid in full for something that hasn’t even fixed the issue I came in for! Plus I ended paying $800 in interest because I was told as long as I make the minimum payments for the 24 months zero interest promo that I wouldn’t need to worry ! Well stupid me shouldn’t have listening to the lady at the office cause paying the minimum for 24 months doesn’t pay off the amount owed..so I thought I was done paying after 24 months but nope…since the Lon passed 24 months all that deferred interest was then added…so my 24 month zero interest loan turned into 27% interest for all those months!!!

I have the retainer cleaner and each one I got keeps breaking. The UV light would stop and it would sometimes not vibrate. I regret getting them!

Your loan probably was sold to a credit company so I would guess it will impact your credit score if you don't pay
I would ask on Reddit legal or debt advice subreddits for help, someone will know the answer to this.

Sad. I really liked them. Of course, dentists were going to complain and competition were going to criticize them. They were amazing. Dentists pushing their brand for 2K more… makes sense they should have charged more. Unfortunately, it happens in the business world. It’s a dog eat dog world. 😠
