Thank you Vickie! My craft room is a work in progress and I’m slowly getting everything organized. I’ve always had small areas to craft in, and I’m so happy and blessed to finally have an entire room! I kept putting off starting my channel, thinking my craft room had to be totally organized first. Then I just decided to jump in and worry about that later! Thank you for watching and have a great week!

@@kindashabby It reminds me of a comic strip I saw years ago. It was a picture of an elderly couple, probably in their 90's, with a simple caption, "We waited until we could afford to get married".
Sure, no one wants to put the cart before the horse but sometimes you have to grab an opportunity when it presents itself. 😚
If every crafter waited to start their channel until their craft room was perfect, there wouldn't be any crafters on UA-cam. 😉
I've watched plenty of UA-camrs redo, remake and organize the craft room long after their channel was established.
I'm glad you didn't wait! We need more talented crafters like you! And it's always good to see crafters update their working space. It also lets people know that you're human and you lead an ordinary life, just like the rest of us.
And people watching like to see these updates. It shows that you're growing and expanding and that good things are happening in your life, personal and professional.
And as you grow, so will your craft room. You have exquisite taste and that's clear to see. At some time in the future you will be ready for another update. Just be reassured that it's taken as a positive thing. And your viewers are ready to take this adventure with you!
We're not looking for perfection, just someone who can inspire us! And you do that, on all counts!
You should never apologize for something not being perfect. There's a vast difference between perfection and productive!

    • @kindashabby
      @kindashabby  2 роки тому

@@vickiepatterson1748 thank you! Very true that most things wouldn’t even get off the ground if we waited until we were “ready”. I’m just a middle aged gal with a love of crafting and teaching. This channel is so fulfilling and I’m blessed with THE BEST viewers. It was scary at first, but my fears were unnecessary. Everyone is so kind and supportive. In the year I’ve been on UA-cam I may have had 3 or 4 rude comments. I love the happy little community I feel here and I truly appreciate you and all the other ladies that show up each video!

I enjoyed watching how you transformed your sewing table and bench. I love shabby chic, farmhouse (some rustic but not modern), and any romantic style with plenty of lace, roses and soft colors. I'm actually working to bring more pinks, and soft greens, yellow and soft gray to add to my mainly blue and white theme. I'm trying to organize & downsize right now but I am going to be doing a lot of furniture painting. The way you painted and decoupaged gave me a lot of ideas. The sound was so bad though that I could barely hear you. Thank goodness for close captioning. I just subscribed today and I am looking forward to your collab with Indie Annie Jones. She's fun and makes really pretty things too.

Thank you so much, Mary! I do apply top coats, depending on how I will use the piece. For my sewing table, clear wax on the top and drawer fronts. I use polycrylic for surfaces that will have lots of daily use. Great question!

Welcome to my world of pink, aqua and white with a touch of pale gray on built in cabinets surrounding the fireplace. I'm 74 yrs old and have crafted for yrs. I'm a widow and live in my family home which is 250 yrs old. My walls are 14 inch solid rock so remodeling and changes are sometimes fraught with decisions. The Spring covid started my daughter in law and her friend cleaned out the room I had decided to make into my craft room/cozy visiting area. Walls were painted white, old carpet replaced with gray/white washed looking wood kaminate

Laminate and craft table/desk painted white. I have pink peonies are my favorite flower so I have artwork, photos and garland with pink peonies. Touches of pink and aqua are scattered around. I purchased a shorter than regular pale gray sofa, a hot pink curved lounge and a white chair with white cushions were added in fireplace area for visiting with my vintage friends. I painted my mother's old chandelier pink which I love. I'm still doing things to hone my organizing to make my craft room just right.😁💖 I enjoy your projects and admiring your lovely craft room. Thanks for sharing.

Vicki, your description sounds delightfully dreamy! Pink, aqua and white makes my heart melt. I’m sure a 250 year old home poses a few challenges, but how amazing it must be to live there! My home is only 5 years old. It’s nice, but lacks the charming appeal of historic architecture. I’m glad you enjoyed seeing my craft room, and I thank you so much for sharing a glimpse into your lovely home too!

I’m so glad you’re enjoying my channel Sandra! I bought the baseboards here in Florida from Eco Relics. They have lots of salvaged items perfect for crafting. Check for stores that sell architectural salvage in your area. I’ve also found items like these at my local flea market too.

everything looks so pretty! and i love your haul. that fabric is everything. i refabbed one my mother in law's mother's benches like yours for my make up vanity. i put a solid blue fabric and put lace around the edge, where you put the pompoms. but now, i'm tempted to go back and do floral! personal request please? could you please either speak up a bit, or turn up your volume in your editing? i'm a little hard of hearing and have my volume all the way up. it would be much appreciated. thanks.

Thanks for getting back to me. I've done plenty of painting/ distressing and it frustrates me when I go into a consignment store, and it's obvious the pieces have not been properly prepped. The paint chips or scratches off extremely easy ... and they charge so much.

I can't tell you just how much I love what you did, that seat recovered is darling, there's something about that shade of blue and pink flower combination and those white pom poms just take it to another level! your wall hanging with the bed spring is darling!! I love the pink flower w/Pearl drop embellishments but I don't like that natural muslin hanging down the front of the spring, I feel it looks too drab and completely takes away from everything else on there... Really I don't mean to be rude but honestly it's a no- go. I wish you would take it out of there...🤔 please please please, cuz that piece you made is so beautiful
