It's so sad for the US people. How on earth does health insurance cost $800 / month?!!!! And americans argue that paying tax, like our UK 'National Insurance' would cost everyone more?! It's insane! I'm so sorry for him. :(
@@catsandcrafts171 It's because he's self-employed and probably covering his child as well. The vast majority of people have their health insurance through their employer who not only gets better (group) rates but also usually covers a large portion of the cost. Anything the employee pays is also taken out before taxes are applied and in Joe's case, the costs would be deducted from taxes as well. Coverage options also include spouses/families, so a lot of married self-employed people are on their spouse's health plan. There's also Medicare and Medicaid to provide health care for retired and low income individuals respectively.
I know Etho tries to be humble, but the current minecraft youtube landscape truly would not exist without him. Sooooo many people got started after watching Etho From all the more chill guys on Hermitcraft to even all the more modern channels.
Yeah, Mr. Beast can be found in the comment section of an Etho world tour crediting him for why he started UA-cam. So arguably the biggest single UA-camr started because of Etho
I love that four of the OGs (Etho, Bdubs, Beef, and Hypno) all answered Coestar, and everyone else answered Etho and/or Bdubs. Coes Quest launched in Alpha 1.10 four months to the day before Etho’s first Let’s Play, and this video prompted me to go back and dig that video up only to realize that if I didn’t know it was Coestar, I’d think it was an early Etho or Bdubs vid in all its chill-ness. What a legend. Coestar is really the godfather of Let’s Plays that threaded the eye of the needle of being interesting, informative, and not too basic or condescending. My other favorite answers were joehills wanting Microsoft to pay his medical insurance and Cubfan literally having a spreadsheet of 78 changes he’d make to Minecraft - because of course Cub would. 😂
Hannah, Grace, and Mamrie were so awesome. I love how they collaborate with almost everyone in the UA-cam space it really made it feel like a community back then. I miss it! 😊
He really has wanted enchanted boats for a while, yeah. He's mentioned it in a few seasons of the Naked & Scared series he does with Impulse. It'd be such a fun addition, it's my favorite answer, even over inventory management overhaul. 😅
Tangos happiness about Etho naming Decked Out 2 as his favourite Event since joining Hermitcraft was so incredibly heartwarming ❤ you could hear how much that meant to him 😊
Legally binding for everyone except the man who immediately asks if he should contact his lawyer. 😂 RESPECT Etho, Doc, Bdubs and Decked Out 2. It is surely deserved.
Xb to Ren: “All these answers are legally binding so answer wisely” XB to Doc: “These answers are not legally binding (please don’t get a lawyer)” Amused me a bit to see that one statement come back later in the episode.
This turned out to be so good.....and finding out Etho is responsible for most of what we call Hermitcraft is incredibly satisfying for some reason....
In one of the MindCrack podcast episodes from many years ago the cast talked about how they had wanted more diversity in the group. Specifically more female members. And Guude (Boulderfist, the creator of MindCrack) talked about how he had wanted ZombieCleo to join. I dont remember why it didnt happen or if he even talked to her about it, but Cleo was good friends with Pauseunpause from another server (she showed parts of a Christmas thing they did together in a video once) and most MindCrack members knew of her. She is one of the more OG minecraft youtubers and I always felt she was underrated by many. Guude wanting to add her to his server kind of gives some credit to her work.
My favorite answer for what you would change about Minecraft is still Skizz's boat thing. It's such a good idea even if it wouldn't affect that many people. Imagine riding boats in the nether or being able to finally go over that half pixel on ice.
For the step over pixel, Level 1: 1 pixel Level 2: 2 pixels Level 3: 4 pixels Level 4: 8 pixels Level 5: 16 pixels -> imagine how great it would be for ice racing!
I love Skizz’s answer because it’s so random and thought out. He’s talked about it in videos past, and he and Impulse used to joke that Bill Gates needed to get to work on any features in Minecraft they wanted changed. Really though, the boat idea is so cool. A small change, but recently Etho said that he found out that there’s a whole sector of the Minecraft community that are really into boat racing in Minecraft. So there would be an audience that could likely enjoy the change.
There's a metal boat mod (i believe) for that. Modded MC is where it's at. Seriously. Mojang under Micro and Soft will never get to where the fan base needs to be. Micro and extremely Soft has a webpage dedicated to them, with the graveyards of all the businesses they purchased and killed. Not even EA is there. Also, MS has a vendetta against Java going back to the late 1900's. They got in deep shoite over it too, big time. TLDR, learn to create mods and be the change that MC needs. The game will be killed, it's inevitable.
The MOMENT I saw X, I could hear him say, "We're supposed to be Professional Minecrafters." To this day, that's still my favorite moment of ALL UA-cam.
Cleo talking about the Corssover and Ren the King event made me remember that at the time I was thinking that Ren the King would be joining Empires SMP as part of the Crossover event leaving Rendog to rejoin Hermitcraft.
I feel like automatic sand duping could be stone farms - grinder - gravel - grinder - sand. It would even make sense, as sand is just like really small stone and- well you get it.
That would make sense and still feel vanilla. I had a worse idea, what if deserts had sandstorms that deposited sand (or maybe even sand layers), not sure if that would be farmable tho...
Agree, and also being able to turn sandstone back into sand! Never made sense to me that you can smoosh sand into sandstone (not very realistic), but you can't smash sandstone down into sand (which is literally irl).
I like the sandstorm idea. It could be farmable maybe with cauldrons (and a bucket of sand), or if the sand literally deposited on the ground, a contraption could be made with pulls away some ground with sticky pistons, then the sand falls onto collection tracks, breaking into items. Waiting the the desert version of a thunderstorm would stink though.
Sand can be farmed by having a new block item called Plantbox. When crafted it will look like a block looking pot (similar to composter) made out of planks and can do many things. Primary uses are pots for tall flowers and acts as a cauldron for sand when the sandstorm occurs and forms a sandbox. Empty plantbox are used for farming sand while plantbox filled with dirt, grass and even mycelium for possible two block tall mushrooms (But they could take it up a notch and make it so that they can put semi aquatic plants by putting water in the plantbox) Just my add on idea on a suggestion
Gourd, that transition from Xisuma and you reminiscing about Professional Minecrafters, to Mumbo having a microphone mute moment & laughingly calling himself a professional... It's so perfect you'd think it's scripted. But it's not. And that's the delight of Hermitcraft! Also I love love LOVE that my favourite Hermit (Joe) has the same favourite moment as I do- which incidentally, is around the time I added xB to my list of regularly-watched hermits. We love a full circle ^^ This episode has been super enjoyable to watch during this chill Sunday, hope you were able to chill a bit while travelling too! :D
I enjoyed watching XBs levels go up throughout the video and was wondering if I'd see them reset by the end. I like that that became relevant. Also i love the people who chose decked out 2, its so appropriate, they all showed immense love and appreciation for the game while it was happening and knowing that joy is unparalleled and not easily forgotten is really special
XB you know what you should do? you should make some sort of podcast room where you can invite some other hermits and interviewing them on what project that they are working on, or what building they are focusing on right now, etc.
I didn't think hearing both of xB and Etho's voice would bring so much joy because I have always liked how chill Etho was and now hearing them both is just reaaally great to hear
Zed: i want roller skates, or something similar me: yes please omg i love roller skates this is such a delightful video, everyone's reactions to the questions and their answers are so interesting
Videos like this make me appreciate the proximity chat mod so much. Earlier seasons of Hermitcraft were filled with typing to eachother and the occasional "shift spam greeting". This feels so much more natural.
man love seeing everyone interacting with other hermits this season more, its bringing back what makes your server great, as your guys interactions with each other are second to none
I will say, there are a lot of fans who give your character Guardian features because of more recent things - season 7, for example, having Impulse move those Guardians into your base, as well as the orange and teal color scheme of the floating base. You're also super collected and skilled when it comes to raiding monuments, fond of swimming over boating, always need depth strider and some sort of water feature in a base... You've kind of fish coded yourself, over the years :p But season 3 was a gorgeous base and a definite highlight (the two-headed Elder Guardian god was SUCH a fun bit of base lore). Thank you so much for this episode! Everyone's answers are super interesting and a great peek into their minds, plus you always have the most fun interactions with other Hermits - I'm glad you left these segments longer, more Hermit hangouts are always the best!
Your laugh when Xisuma said "Professional Minecrafters" was amazing, I loved every single conversation and hope that the few that couldn't make it will be able to in a future episode, but that moment of this episode was the best.
For me 1. I don’t make videos but what gotten me into Minecraft was Hermitcraft technically Welsknight. 2. The inventory and how to get people more organized because the only way to be organized is with redstone. I would do something like custom chests (renaming the chests would make it that only that item would be able to be put into it) a side hot bar that you can have any building blocks, a way to quickly reorganize chests (mouse tweaks), just basically more ways to be more organized. 3. My favourite thing about Hermitcraft is EVERYTHING!
I love skizz. I never watched any of his content before him joining hc and im so glad hc introduced me to him. Hes awsome and a really good fit for hc.
Every time people talk about regretting voting on phantoms I am reminded of the fact that of the options they were the least awful. That year it was three types of hostile mobs. One was an ocean mob that tried to drown you, even pulling you out of boats. One lived in the ground and would attack you when you walked over it, even destroying items.
xb you always bring a sense of calm understanding and as a journalist you went around and just made it about them. Which speaks volumes for yourself. you are amazing xb and i hope you know, and are validated of this every day.
The stairs and the inventory issues could be fixed in one go. Remove stairs slabs and full blocks from being separated. Add a tool something like the chisel from chisel and bits, that can remove 1/8 from any block. You could make slabs, stairs, and even vertical slabs and small bits like mob heads out of every single block in the game. You’d have more choices and less different stacks in your inventory
11:21 the no beds is a good idea and it is possible to change the day/night cycle to where the night is shorter, not for the scaredy hermits but for making video your viewers can see
oh wow. cleo played wow.. i understand so much now. i would be truely shocked if i found out she played alliance. she throws off horde vibes. it all makes sense now. :D
Thanks for this episode xB, extremely interesting and entertaining to learn stuff about each hermit. Etho tries to be humble, but in my opinion he is the best Minecraft UA-camr there is. He may not be massive, but inspired so many UA-camrs (Mr. Beast crediting Etho for him starting UA-cam too). He’s also just stayed true to himself and played the game and does UA-cam his way
Also shoutout to xB for including that he was also inspired by Etho, it was such a sweet moment (as someone who's super shy I would've never been able to say it to his 'virtual' face)
I'd love to see a Hermit vote on things that are opposite but neither is "better". Like who has the most infectious energy, and who has the most infectious calm. Who inspires you with how they build at scale, and who inspires you with detailing. Who inspires you with how the build buildings, and who inspires you with interiors. Who inspires you with terraining, and who inspires you with organics. Who inspires you to do more with video production, and who inspires you with their production simplicity. That kind of thing. And not just one choice; ranked 1, 2, 3. You could even just make one book, copy it a bunch, then mail it out. ... actually compiling all the results and running it through any of a number ranking systems would just be a ton of paperwork. I guess it depends on how much of a data nerd you are 😅
I clicked on this without realizing it was an hour and 45 minutes but it felt like no time at all! As a newer hermitcraft watcher this was all such a cool and interesting look at the members and insight into what they're all like. It's also really touching to see how many hermits are fans of one another. Everyone interacts so well together and are so fun to see the interactions of, but moments like Tango hearing that Etho loved Decked Out, or Gem being inspired by Bdubs, or the shared history between Xisuma and XB really add something special to Hermitcraft. I really want to go back and watch season 6 now to see what everyone's referencing.
This is the best video I have watched in a long while! Such a great idea. Documenting the Hermits by a Hermit is something people are gonna come back and watch after years have passed! Good job Mr. xB :)
I love the survey and VintageBeef said something interesting about beds that got me thinking. Impulse and Skizz have a series call naked and scared. It is ultra hardcore with no sleep, I would love to see Vintagebeef play with those two OR have a special hermitcraft challenge where everyone plays. Not like the life series, full cooperation and a massive challenge that would require all of them like kill a wither in an ancient city in under 10 minecraft days.
A tiny part of me always gets emotional when I see long time fans post comments updating us on their lives and how etho has remained a constant despite all this time passing, so it's kind of surreal to hear how it's the same for so many hermits. I've literally watched him from middle school all the way through grad school (I don't even play minecraft anymore), but this community has just been so inspiring and heartfelt. This is such an amazing video, so thank you xB for taking up the challenge. (Also bless you for having the courage to tell etho you're a fan to his face, I would've crumbled).
I've been waiting for XB to release this since the Ren interview. I'd love so see more social vids or collabs; like with Keralis cuz its always a breath of fresh air when XB talk to others.
I do agree with Doc that, at the least, there needs to be a renewable way to make/get sand. Cause there has been many formally non-renewable resources like gravel, clay, quartz, and lava that now have a way to be renewable so it would be nice to have that for sand as well. That is actually one of the things I really like about the SlimeFun plug-in the server I play on does. With it you can pretty much make any resource and even non-renewable items renewable, even if it is a bit grindy to get some of them.
I loved the vibes of you and Keralis sitting by the lake and having an interview. It makes me want every player to set up a place at their base to just chill with friends more often. Remember the open mike in BDubs shop last season? You did so well with this segment.
I remember back in like 2011, I was in 6th grade... and I came across a Keralis modern house building tutorial that looked interesting so I decided to watch it. He and the tutorial then made me fall in love with Minecraft and I begged my parents to buy it for me.. & the way he said he was "finking" when he was "thinking" is still a refrence I use today, so thank you from the bottom of my heart Keralis for being you.❤
Zeds idea of roller skates made me think of skis and making a way to use gravity and momentum to move down mountains. making ski resorts and games using snowy mountain trails. cause now nobody goes in the mountain unless they need a goat or a bit of snow or iron.
My favorite event of Hermitcraft is officially this years charity event for Gamers Outreach. I am so proud of this community. I'm also curious if any hermits would change their answers after that weekend. Decked out 2 is definitely up there and TCG
Man I’m so happy you made this video! Seeing a couple of hermits do the 3rd degree last season is how I found your videos and now you’re the hermit I watch the most
I have to agree with Doc in a way about the sand issue. One thing I infer a lot of people are disappointed about when it comes to the Husk mob is that it doesn't drop 1-3 Sand blocks upon being slain. It almost feels like Mojang dropped the ball with that one, but then maybe they didn't have the know-how at the time to figure out how to stop duplicating blocks that convert into entities? It would be a reasonable exchange, given sands' finite quantity in the world, and that players _really_ don't want to be making Farlands trips just to de-sand a desert for a solid glass monolith in their area near world spawn.
this was a really amazing video xb. so cool to hear answers from so many hermits! the time really flew by, it did not feel like an hour and 45 minutes. thanks for doing this!
I agree X bringing back a memorable, funny moment about the Hermits was my favorite. There are so many more unrepresented that add up to why we love the Hermitcraft gang.
Y'know, I was curious what the answers to "what would you change" be, but the moment Gem started answering I immediately switched on; That one, I want the Cottagecore update. Not because of the cottagecore, but I ADORE the idea of making MC feel more lived in. I always hate how my base has like... four areas that exist, unless I'm playing modded. Like I make a kitchen, but unless I'm playing modded I can't actually cook in it. Or I make a bedroom, it's just a room with a bed in it, everything else is just fluff. I want blocks that DO THINGS and make the game just feel more... "homey"

I didn't think hearing both of xB and Etho's voice would bring so much joy because I have always liked how chill Etho was and now hearing them both is just reaaally great to hear
Zed: i want roller skates, or something similar
me: yes please omg i love roller skates
this is such a delightful video, everyone's reactions to the questions and their answers are so interesting
Videos like this make me appreciate the proximity chat mod so much. Earlier seasons of Hermitcraft were filled with typing to eachother and the occasional "shift spam greeting". This feels so much more natural.
It’s so immersive!
man love seeing everyone interacting with other hermits this season more, its bringing back what makes your server great, as your guys interactions with each other are second to none
Doc naming Gronkh means everything to me.
Oh wow a whole movie to know more about the hermits? Count me in, nice treat to welcome Monday in few hours lol.
I believe there is a correct answer to "what would you change about Minecraft" and it is fix the inventory PLEASE MOJANG!
For me
Hey XB I started watching you this season and just wanted to say how much I am enjoying your videos, there very entertaining and fun!
It feels like yesterday that Ren did his Star Wars base, but it was season 7 already???? Time flies with lot's of fun hermit videos
XB to Gem: Answer me these questions three, ere the other side ye see!
xb you always bring a sense of calm understanding and as a journalist you went around and just made it about them.
This is the best social video that the hermits have done in a long time and I like their social based videos. Thank you, XB! You're awesome.
The payoff! I've seen a few other perspectives of these in other Hermits' vids but it's nice to see the full suite.
XB thanks for this vid - its fabulous 🙂
Now we need a way to get Mumbo to go to the deep dark for silence trim, a challenge, quest, blackmail or bribery will suffice.
Oooh I’ve gotten glimpses of this from streams and other videos, been looking forward to it!
I love this thumb nail and that fact that all the hermits are in the same order as the video ❤
I guess it depends on how much of a data nerd you are 😅
What an excellent concept! Very exciting to scroll through and see chapter length, looking forward to watching!
Cleo not knowing Etho is hilarious
Been watching you ask these questions in some others videos, great to see them all combined here! Hope your trip was fun!
Yes Bdubs, snipping vines should be a thing.
Everytime I watch xB’s videos his texture pack reminds me of when factions was popular
It's been really lovely to see you drop in to every Hermit's episodes :3
18:50 CLEO STILL ATTACKING ETHO AFTER THE LIFE SERIES😂
I do agree with Doc that, at the least, there needs to be a renewable way to make/get sand. Cause there has been many formally non-renewable resources like gravel, clay, quartz, and lava that now have a way to be renewable so it would be nice to have that for sand as well. That is actually one of the things I really like about the SlimeFun plug-in the server I play on does. With it you can pretty much make any resource and even non-renewable items renewable, even if it is a bit grindy to get some of them.
funny how x's episode 299 is in the list of recommended vids for me.
I am suddenly very antsy to get some kind of skates, skis, or rollers in Minecraft, it is such a good idea
My favorite event of Hermitcraft is officially this years charity event for Gamers Outreach. I am so proud of this community. I'm also curious if any hermits would change their answers after that weekend. Decked out 2 is definitely up there and TCG
Man I’m so happy you made this video! Seeing a couple of hermits do the 3rd degree last season is how I found your videos and now you’re the hermit I watch the most
This is one of the greatest of ideas for a pre-recorded hermitcraft video ever
"answer me these questions three." - Bridge Keeper (Monty Python)
Great trip down memory lane. It’s a great little time capsule for the future, and that thumbnail has much charm.
XB, thanks for making this. It was SO cool to hear all the Hermits' answers!
This was honestly one of my favorite episodes. Xb sneaking around, lots of interaction, and just everyone being so nice. Way to go Xb!
An xB movie?! Yes, please!
what a joy of an episode this has been 💜 it's so fun to see how the hermits answered the same 3 simple and interesting questions!
this was a really amazing video xb. so cool to hear answers from so many hermits! the time really flew by, it did not feel like an hour and 45 minutes. thanks for doing this!
i feel Doc´s answere.... over 1000 episodes of Gronkh playing minecraft.... loved it :D
I agree X bringing back a memorable, funny moment about the Hermits was my favorite. There are so many more unrepresented that add up to why we love the Hermitcraft gang.
Love the 3rd Degree. Interviews with XB. 😅
"homey"
