I’m a Celtics fan and loved Larry so watching him compete against Magic and the Lakers is why us oldies still think the 80s/90s was the golden era of basketball. I’d recommend watching some of those games in their entirety, if you got the time watch the 84,85,87 finals series. THAT was basketball at its best.

I am a female born in the 60's. I have 4 older brothers and a crazy dad who all played basketball and baseball. So back in the day it didn't matter if you could afford a TV in every room, there was only one TV in the family room. We had to watch TV as a family as well. No going to your room or doing your own thing. I never got to pick what program to watch. It was always the Lakers or Hee Haw. Sometimes Batman which I loved! I hated basketball!!!! I was forced to watch it on TV and everyday had to go watch one of my brothers games. My mother was earning extra credentials at the University a couple nights a month and on those nights when my dad had to babysit were the worst times in my childhood as I was forced to go to the Forum and watch live basketball. It was hell I tell you. Until one day..... there was a new player for the Lakers doing things I have never seen before in my life and trust me I have seen it all up until then. It was the most exciting thing I had ever seen in my life and I never missed a game ever during Magic's reign. Everything was different including the fans at the arena. It was a party for all! I feel I was so lucky to be part of the Magic era and to see the Lakers live I wouldn't trade it for anything.

Even though my favorite two basketball players were Michael Jorden and Larry Bird and they both had very good passing ability, I always considered the king of the ball passing game was Magic Johnson. I haven't seen anybody before or since that had those kinds of ball passing skills.
