What about the physical characteristics of the lock? Are the mounting screws vulnerable to drilling? Can it be opened with turning force?

It’s not easy to brake open this lock just like any grade 2 security rating deadbolt lock, but if someone try to pick it open then he probably can! And that’s whay I recommended to replace the cylinder to a high security like the Mul T Lock MT5+

Can this function independent of Wi-Fi or Bluetooth connections? I’m considering installing this for my parents, but they don’t have smart phones. I want to ensure they can just use their fingerprint without connecting to Wi-Fi. Thanks.

So the first programming you’ll need to do with a smart phone after you create an account etc, and then add your parents fingerprints to the lock and after that they can use their fingerprint to access the lock or the regular key without the needs of Wi-Fi connection.
The Wi-Fi is only optional if you decide to buy an additional Wi-Fi adapter (not included with the this smart lock)

Do you think the motor can retract a deadlatch? Yes, I have an old school 1960's heavy duty Schlage deadlatch. Front doors are double so not enough depth in the strike for a typical 1" bolt.

Yes it is key level security but that’s why I recommend to upgrade to high security.
And the fingerprint access it’s for convenience
