This is way more simple than how he plays now, so he did get alot better. Travis has a very distinct way of playing and if I heard this song without knowing it was him, I wouldn't have guessed it to be him.

And well, I think Travis is doing some interesting stuff and he is one HELL of a drummer and badass, I'd largely think "breathing new life" into punk would be a bit off centre and a bit of a shallow sentiment. Just like if someone said that's what MGK is doing. I can appreciate they're doing something different musically or culturally but breathing new life into punk just doesn't seem right. Bringing attention the genre for sure. Maybe adding punk flair to hip hop/pop? I would maybe give that title to Idles, PUP, Fidlar and a few others when it comes to pushing that genre forward. There's alot more interesting things happening in punk (and has been basically forever, maybe a rough spell mid 2000's early 2010's, some stuff I love from that time, Flatliners etc) than anything Green Day or Blink can offer.

My first band was called "Cynical Attitude" in 1982. We played the Circle Jerks "Group Sex" in its entirety. We played parties and almost every time the cops would be called. It was a fun time! We had a British exchange student at our HS and we played his house one night. His dad threw us out for playing "God save the Queen".
Man you can tell how Travis is just at a totally different level than the rest of this band, kinda how you see pro athletes playing when they were young just on a higher level than anyone around them.

That's the pop punk sound of the 90s. I was never into that scene, i was into the hardcore punk, death metal, thrash, grindcore and nu metal scene back in the 90s admittedly there were a couple of catchy pop punk songs that i kinda liked but not many.
Travis have you kept in contact with any of these guys? Also I saw on the OP from years ago a guy said this was his garage and y'all used to come and jam and just play block parties or something
