    Simple, I see a video with Steven and I click.
    So much stuff to upack here. I am going to hit Monsoon the hardest because I feel like sunset it gets alot of flack talking about how strong/powerful the pattern is. Well, thats why the monsoon is what it is, thats what makes it a monsoon. Its one of those genes where altering the color is the most viable option and quite frankly I dont see anything wrong with it. With so many color varieties and additional genetics that can be used to tweak contrast there is plenty to do.
    Also on the Axanthic topic, There is alot to be said as to which is the most used/most worked line being the most popular or worth getting into, those being the VPI and the TSK.
    Personally I work with VPI as its by far the most common there for alot of leverage to make cool stuff. TSK is up there but was basically brought back by one guy and the market share is considerably less. Which is also why you can find an adult tsk dg male sitting on MM if it were a VPI Ax DG it woulda been swooped up long ago due to the leverage.

      You are the man Brandon! Completely agree with every point you said! Monsoon pattern is it’s biggest strength just like the Sunset colors are that project’s biggest strengths. I want to lean into the strengths and use them to make incredible combos rather than fight against the projects we are working.

    Here's what's great about clown. As long as you go visual to visual, you can count on EVERY BABY being worth SOMETHING and not being too hard to move. If your just getting into recessives, clown is the one for sure IMO.

    Great video, as always! I think your analysis of the genes you mentioned is spot on. Also, as I see more combos with sunset, I find myself being won over, where at first, I wasn’t a fan.
    I’m just barely getting into the hobby and it’s a daddy/daughter thing so we’re taking it slow and just having fun with it, playing with wookie and DG for now, but I can’t help but live vicariously through you guys and the other wonderful people who make awesome content for this great hobby! Thanks for sharing your passion and knowledge. It’s very much appreciated!

      I completely get people having different tastes. Brian Kusko’s videos on the Cinnamon Enchi Sunset are what made me fall in love with the morph and I am stoked other people have started to find it cool as well! Definitely my favorite project!

    I’m currently waiting for a 1.3 of het puzzles to grow up. I hope and think that puzzle is the next shock and awe gene. I think it awesome but I really like pattern disrupting genes. I’m trying to find a monarch up here in Canada to get some monarch puzzle combos but monarch is hard to find up here.

    Aesthetically, I love Pieds! However, I almost feel like a less is more approach with them. My biggest beef is that it can be so incredibly difficult to accurately identify what genes might be in that specific animal if you have a multi-gene pairing.

    • @LeviathanSnakes
      @LeviathanSnakes  11 місяців тому

    How bout get out before you lose your ass...oversaturated and only the "big breeders" make money...because all the Wannabes that wanna make a living off this shit gotta have the next big thing. Its ball python Amway...been there..done that..glad im out

    • @LeviathanSnakes
      @LeviathanSnakes  10 місяців тому

      We are not big breeders at all (we started in 2020, we do about 15 clutches a year, and produce about 100 hatchlings a year) and we have no trouble selling our animals. In fact I don’t think we have a had a clutch that didn’t pay off the parents the first time they laid even accounting for the animals we held back.
      If you put in the work, market yourself, and build trust for your brand, you can do well.
      The problem comes when people think they can buy any random animals, do no work other than cleaning cages and putting a male in a female’s tub, and then expect to have people beating down their door to buy their babies.
      If you want to do this successfully, it is a grind and some people don’t have the time/desire to learn all the skills they need in order to be successful. You have to market yourself on social media, you have to vend shows every weekend, you have to make smart investments (as well as get a bit lucky), you have to have know when NOT to buy something, you might need to breed rodents to lower overhead, you have network throughout the hobby, you have to have amazing customer service, and above everything, you have to love the animals so much that even if you made no money, it wouldn’t matter because this is what you do for personal enjoyment.
      A reptile business isn’t easy and once people realize how much work it takes, they often leave because they were focused on making a quick buck rather than the love of the hobby. If you’re willing to do or learn what to do on the business side, the hobby can be an amazing side-income as well.

      I think the key to success is to market yourself on social media. A lot of folks don’t know how to do that or don’t want to do that, so they have a very hard time being successful. Steven pounds the need for marketing in many of his videos, and rightfully so. It’s very important.
