I want to thank you I’m a 59-year-old woman did you know much of technology but you help me I thought I needed to buy a new TV thank you for helping me put back my TV together. I love watching UA-cam and when I didn’t see the logo on my TV I freaked out, when I seen you and you helped me through just buy a Blink of that I usually all these apps and what to do and how to fix in etc. are so difficult for me but you made it easy kiss by a blink of the eye thank you so much it’s just hard for me to understand because I’ve had several strokes and I have to brainstorm but with your videos the way you explain everything it’s as easy as 123. Thank you God bless you and your family.😊🎉❤
Thank you so much for what you do. After getting a $315.00 bill from Xfinity last month it was time to put a stop to the madness. You have been an invaluable source of information and help. Love the information on the guide. That will help my wife deal with cutting the cord. Thanks again.
Thank you for all the informative content. I’ve recently dumped cable and enjoying the cord cutting life. Have a Roku, Apple TV , and an Xfinity stream box. Keep up the great work.
Another great feature of the live TV channel guide you can go into settings > TV inputs > Live TV > Manage Channels and hide the stations you never want to watch. For instance, I don't speak Spanish, and we have about 6 or 8 Spanish channels. I do not understand, so I hide them with another 6 or 8 stations I won't watch. It keeps the guide nice and clean, displaying only the channels I'll watch.
One other great thing with Roku built into a TV (mine is an older Insignia) is that you can install a 32GB USB Flash drive and be able to rewind up to an our an a half from OTA antenna signals. But, you have to be on that channel for that long. It's a great feature if you don't have an OTA DVR and you can plan ahead.
Great tips! Just wanted to add that I use Airplay on my Roku player to add a second screen to my MacBook. I also sync UA-cam on my iPhone to the UA-cam app on my Roku over the Internet. I use this to hand my viewing back and forth as I go about my day.
The biggest thing I found by accident that I can use the remote app to stream sound to my iPhone or iPad and then use my earbuds to listen to TV. I’m hard of hearing and it really helps.
Wow 😲...! Thank you 🤝🏾- I have been a ROKU user since the 1st generation dropped on the market. Some things I found by playing around with it but this is so cool 😎 to have your channel and the pro tips👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾! Will keep watching...😏😃👍🏾!
One thing I wish they'd do is when you arrange your apps is to do it across all the devices on your account. We have 3 Expresses and it would make it much easier to arrange one device and it changes on all of them.
The live guide only displays your local stations if you have a Roku TV. It would be nice if the players would display your local channels in the guide based on your zip code, but I guess they figure without the ability to tune to the station from the guide it wouldn't make much sense.
My two main streamers are Roku, and Apple TV. I use some music services as well. For those The Apple TV is the better choice, especially for spatial audio support on Apple Music. For movie and TV streaming, I think they're about the same personally. I typically switch if one has a feature the other doesn't, or one is having problems with a particular service. As a non streaming solution, I also have a couple of 4K Blu-ray players for offline viewing. I also own a 2019 NVIDIA Shield TV Pro, but currently have factory reset it and put it out of the way as it's not currently in use. I recently replaced my older Roku Ultra model 4660, with a 2022 4802, to have the latest hardware. The older one is working well, but is starting to show it's age as well.
I don't know what form factor you have in mind, but a few years ago I had a USB type OTA TV tuner. Antenna cable screwed into the back and the front plugged into the computer. It sort of worked, but the big problem was heat. I swear you could make toast by laying a piece of bread over the thing. On the other hand, a large format, internal OTA TV tuner, one that goes inside the computer, worked better. It might have gotten equally hot, but it was hidden inside the computer, so I didn't notice.
Lol on trying with this on my Roku TV. The time change meant I needed to power cycle my TV 📺 to get it to work today. I am guessing too busy on the time server, but error was static screen and it reset to old time.
I just switched from cable to Roku Ultra. I used to select future or repeating shows and RECORD them. Then I could watch at my convenience. I tried via Roku search and couldn't find General Hospital. Any helpful hints would be greatly appreciated!
Edit: I would like for you to do a deep dive show about the all these Settings. On the same page as above are Settings for "Auto-adjust display frame rate" and "HDR subsampling" I don't understand either of those and I don't understand other Settings elsewhere either. Thank you.
A lot of people don't know how to setup or know that a sleep timer exist on Roku. So simple once it's setup and saved power and data of your on a data cap plan.
I'm going to try to use the antenna guide. The tuner in my TV doesn't work, so I am using a tuner box that plugs into an HDMI port. It doesn't have a very good guide, so hopefully this will work with Roku.
Luke!! Do you know or can you look into whether Roku will be releasing updated/new versions of their streaming sticks, more specifically, the Roku Ultra and the Ultra LT? Can you look into the patterns as far as when Roku has put out updated streaming equipment, please? I’m hanging on to regular tv until Roku puts out an updated Ultra, if I can. Also, I have Ethernet for getting my internet. That said, is it easy to hookup a Roku Ultra from my eero router that came with my Frontier Fiber internet? Thank you.
Wish I could control non-Roku soundbars with a Roku streaming stick. It's not suppose to work at all but I can power the soundbar on but no volume controls.
Start with a rabbit ear antenna. I spent a bunch of money and time to put up and wire an antenna on the roof before I tried the rabbit ears that came with a small TV I had laying around. The rabbit ears worked perfectly with the minor exception that I had to rotate them ever so slightly for some of the channels. I've moved since then so currently I have an outside antenna that I'm using inside. If my TV was against the outside wall, then I would get all the channels, but it is on an inside wall. I get all but the weakest channels just fine. I'm getting a Tablo unit and will move the antenna outside to get all the channels, then plug to the Tablo tuner for wifi broadcast to four Roku units in the house.
NEED to cut cord & get smart TV 60". Which one? I heard roku tv u are limited on viewing. I need to RECORD all my shows, i.e. soaps, reality etc to watch at later times & be able to FF thru commercial. Which smart tv? Do I need to buy a dvr- which one? Antenna for roku tv- which one? Sorry, need directions like I'm a 5yr old- thx!
My Roku Ultra is my only streaming device that my Sony TV always shows displaying as "Dolby Vision (Bright or Dark)" Go to Settings> System> Advanced System Settings> Dolby Vision always on (Yes or No) Below this it explains: "If this setting is 'Yes,' all video will be played in Dolby Vision format. This means that any video with a different format will be converted to Dolby Vision."
Cord Cutters should stop considering Sling TV a viable alternative to cable. Sling is actually just like a cable provider....price increase from 35 to 45 dollars in my market because they added local channel ABC to their lineup, a channel I do not want or need. Their customer servive is non existent....How is that any different from cable.
I recently heard something about Roku not doing so well financially and might be forced to either sell to a more financially stable company or file for chapter 11. I'd like to know if there's any validity to this. I know Roku ain't the most financially stable company, but I didn't think they were doing particularly bad.
I’m new to ROKU TVs and have a question. When I turn on Live TV on the left, it always start at a channel in the 600’s that I was watching. If I want to see a channel in the 30s, I have to keep scrolling for a while to get there. Is it an easier fast way to get from the 600 channels to the 30 channels?
I disagree. I have a Roku TV and I love it! Have Netflix , Hulu, prime, Viki and tons of other apps on it. Of course I have a Fire Stick as well, but having a Roku keeps the Fire stick free from clutter.
I have an RV with a Roku TV. How do I get the tv to list the locals when I move to a new DMA? The tv is connected to an exterior antenna, but on the first trip using the tv, it only listed my home area (tested setup before leaving) and not the local DMA. Instructions by Roku don't cover this , nor how to get the local list, which doesn't show up most of the time.
On my Roku TV, Settings - TV inputs - Live TV - Scan for antenna channels should work. At least I hope so because I'm moving to a new state in a couple of weeks!
The lack of a guide was one of the main reasons we put off cutting the cord as long as we did. So happy we found this on ROKU. Awesome feature.

New cord cutter here and reviewing all things Roku. You just got a new sub, and thank you for all that you bring us ❕👍👍

I definitely use Roku Search feature. You can also use the little microphone on the remote and speak the show or movie your looking for.

Roku user here in Australia, thanks for the great tips.
The roko search also lets you search by actor, which is really cool if want to see list of movies by person.
I use the search option regularly. Great tip!
The biggest thing I found by accident that I can use the remote app to stream sound to my iPhone or iPad and then use my earbuds to listen to TV. I’m hard of hearing and it really helps.
You are very smart thank you for all the great tips and I love this channel
I use the ROKU search function a lot. It really is good.
Wow 😲...! Thank you 🤝🏾- I have been a ROKU user since the 1st generation dropped on the market. Some things I found by playing around with it but this is so cool 😎 to have your channel and the pro tips👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾!

My Roku player doesn't have live TV option but up here in 🇨🇦 also so our censorship bill may take this all away soon.
Thanks for tips
Great episode. It looks like I'll be watching more Roku Channel.

Nice tips. Thank you!
Wow! I never knew you could be a "professional" Roku user.😜
I like your channel. I use the voice surch. Also my favorite thing is to put in actor name and a library of their works is displayed.
Great tips! I learned something new.
Would love to see the Roku ultra add a OTA TV tuner would be awesome.

Vary eye opening and I'm interested looks like I'm have to subscribe and Thanks for posting I highly recommend to tap the thumbs up
This is the first time I saw you. I've learned a lot thank you. I accidentally found you I hope I can find you again.
If you subscribe, then he'll find you.
As far as getting the guide for your antenna I believe that's only works with a Roku TV and not a Roku player.

Pro tip: go to left and select live tv. In screen to right there's apps, shows, news channels that are live instead of scrolling up n down in the grid

Why does my Roku TCL TV continuesly disconnect from the internet.... Should be NO problem but it is a regular occurrence....
Wish I could control non-Roku soundbars with a Roku streaming stick. It's not suppose to work at all but I can power the soundbar on but no volume controls.
Hi cord cutters can anyone recommend a good inexpensive inside antenna to get local channels. Thanks in advance, have a great day 👍👍👍
Keep trying different ones and save your receipt to return in case it doesn't work. I have never found one that works.

i have a roku still in box it's an express with hdmi cord, box says 2017 should i buy new one or use it still in box
I was going to buy a tcl roku tv. Should I after the scab collapse?
What antenna do you use ?
When you "record" on Roku, where are your recordings??
How to dvr?
My Roku Ultra is my only streaming device that my Sony TV always shows displaying as "Dolby Vision (Bright or Dark)"

Do not waste your money on Sling tv. Roku free stuff is so good. I am watching Walker Texas Ranger all seasons for free. Winning!
Can I cast from my android to Roku internet linkden learning videos training
The guide is only on Roku tv's. The streaming devices don't have the antenna guide .
Wrong, the OTA live channel guide is only available on Roku TV's. It is NOT available on Roku players.
Before Roku upgraded their service use to & continue to use their Search feature ALL the time. Fastest way to find content.
How do I add other apps to Roku. Please demo by actually downloading an app.
I use Roku search all the time. I can't survive without it
so TV with Roku have voice search which is great
Is it possible to hook up a surround to it
Yes
What do you think will happen to roku due to its loss of 25% of its capital, $500 million, in the SVB collapse?
My LG tv had roku but it disappeared off the tv. Does anyone know what happened to it? Its a smart tv with roku built in i think.
Can someone steal roku from tv?
How can stop the message "We'll be right back" while watching my roku tv??
Cord Cutters should stop considering Sling TV a viable alternative to cable. Cannot get local chanels
Roku only works with an internet connection. Resists screen casting and usually fails otherwise.

I'd like to know if there's any validity to this. I know Roku ain't the most financially stable company, but I didn't think they were doing particularly bad.
@Mickf Yellin just announced they will not be bailing out SVB. They are still looking for someone to buy the assets.

I just Roku but don't have a Roku in my TV.🎉
You talk too fast!
There’s really only one pro tip. Toss that roku out and buy a real streaming device.
Like which one???
I've been using Roku players since the first one was released in 2008. Haven't found a reason to switch yet.
I disagree. I have a Roku TV and I love it! Have Netflix , Hulu, prime, Viki and tons of other apps on it. Of course I have a Fire Stick as well, but having a Roku keeps the Fire stick free from clutter.
Roku is the number one streaming device out there right in the US I love my Roku TVs and my Roku ultra

Rescan your channels
