This was the video that started it all for me. Saw it when I was 4 on Nickelodeon. Wasn't until I'd started jumping many years later and found out it was by none other than Carl Boenish. To Carl, BSBD, and thanks for starting this fire.
We played this 16mm film for students every saturday and sunday morning before training started. never got tired of it and watch it along with Masters of the Sky when i want to sit back and recall the good old day. That was back in 1974. BLUE SKYS
This film first seen at ASU in '77, shown by instructors from Skydive Arizona/Coolidge (aka Ghoulidge). Inspired me to take up skydiving from Sept '78 to March '84 totalling 400 jumps, including out of Beech 18s (exact same one as seen in the hang load segment of the film), DC3's, 4 engine DC4/C-54, Cessna 182 & 206, Pilatus Porter, & DH Twin Otter. Most jumps at Coolidge DZ & Wild Horse West and one T-Day boogie in Perris, CA before that owner Larry Hill moved to & set up the world class DZ in Eloy, AZ. Film always brings back memories. Too old & fat now to jump. Blue Sky, Black Death! FYI, the sound track music during the large DC3 formation load segment is Franz Lizst "Les Preludes".
I am so jealous! I used to skydive from the mid 80s to the mid 90s. I was too young to partake in the 70s, but would have loved to have been on that load!
@@saltshakerannie Fred hit the right horizontal stabilizer. Bruised his upper arm and was Jumping a week later. Of course it's dangerous, that's why it's fun. ☠️ 😎
This film is from the late 1970s, not early 70s as titled. Carl Boenish filmed the El Capitan jumps in 1978, and if I recall correctly, the then world record 50-way penta-wedge was built the same year. Happy memories from watching this countless times in the 70s and 80s. D.3411
I am working on a documentary about the Lake Erie Skydiving Incident 1967. For this, I am looking for skydiving footage of the time. Would it be possible to use footage of your video? With credit in the video as well as a link to your channel the description. Please let me know, this would help me a LOT.
The used to have some good videos of Jerry Birds All stars that was a good 10 man team video back in the 70s A 10 man team I jumped on used to practice with Jerry Birds Team in Logan , Utah.
I remember seeing this film as a short subject, airing on SelecTV prescription tv back in the early part of the 1980s. The search for the piece of music starting at 6 minutes 5 seconds is the reason why I searched for this film - does anyone know where this music comes from ? Cheers and thanks for uploading! :)

That's me on the wing of the Twin Beech. White suit, blue Wonder Hog with WSCR patch, tan frap hat.

@@wscr320 I wondered did anyone hit the tail. It looked rather dangerous for those on the roof of the plane.

Played after my first jump course as we were waiting on weather, May 1981.

Lindo de bonito
The only issue is... this isnt the original music. My uncle is one of the divers in the video and we had an OG copy and the music was EPIC
you must be confusing with a different video, this IS the original sound track of the Skydive movie by Carl Boenish
I saw this video as a small child. The music is the same, and trust me, it IS VERY EPIC.
Sure is.

This looks like late late seventies and early eighties.
