@@markrobgray Just came back to listen to the mix again, forgot I even posted this haha. Far from it sir. I was a quiet little metal kid getting into dubstep people thought was really odd for the time lol.
@@_obsoleet_ I thought it really made sense, I kept telling people that dubstep is so close to metal. especially when you listen to Distance back then, who actually made a lot of his sounds on an E-Guitar, he came from metal, too.
I feel so lucky that this album came out when I was clubbing regularly, had the honour of hearing most of these tunes on heavyweight systems. Such a golden era, seemed like it would never end. The perfect blend of funky dub reggae skank and warped rude synthwork
I was at a VIVEK show shortly before corona hit. The DJs after him played all the 2007 era hits back to back for two hours. no time to have a smoke or go to the bathroom. I was peaking, sitting infront of the subwoofers of the sound system in nostalgic bliss.
My life was never the same after this album. It quite literally shaped my taste in music. After an entire life of rock and punk, I started electronic music like infected mushroom(goa) en pendulum. But after this album my love for niche genres like breakcore grew so big i hardly ever listen to punk and rock anymore.

Damn, I was trying to find this video for ages. I listened to it a tonne back in early or mid 2021 I think, but then I moved on to other things and only recently got a hankering to listen to it again. But I couldn't remember for the life of me what it was called. I thought it was a mix done by Mary Anne Hobbs, but Warrior Dubz didn't sound familiar at all. I was going crazy. Turns out I bookmarked this in Google Chrome...I just had to find it burrowed within the crap-tonne of other webpages I've bookmarked. I'm so glad because this sounds so sick and already kinda nostalgic. A lot has happened to me between now (late 2022) and early 2021.

My ears are still hurting
THE BEST MIX OF ALL TIME
