Very nice rockets, love the addition of the tube buster to break up the stick and tube... As well as providing a nice bottom shot effect. Keep up the great work!
Every time I think I know all about fireworks, Ned comes along so much more I don't know. And now I want to know all the details of the separate peices that you have attached to the sphere.
Hey, thanks, PD. We typically see where our creations fall short of our goals, but it's also good to appreciate what it is that we accomplish, and enjoy the ride. Best to ya.
Hey Ned is just wanted to let you know that I have watched about 10 off your vids and so far I’m honestly blown away your a god dam artist and your painting the sky please don’t stop making vids I really enjoy them
Hey Ned I got a question I was wondering if I could use potassium chlorate instead off potassium perchlorate since perchlorate’s are really hard to come by we’re I live I wanted to use it in star compositions but I can’t get it and I wanna know if I can use chlorate instead since I already know that chlorates are less stable than perchlorate’s but they are more powerful oxidizer’s and I mean the perchlorate’s but anyways all I wanna know is if that’s possible or if it’s just out off the blue thanks and have a good day
@@zebrehenriksson Zeb, before perchlorates became available, in the "old days", the chlorates were commonly used in star comps. Hardt's "Pyrotechnics" has many chlorate formulae in it. One has to be careful with them, though. It's good to get an education about the hazards, especially when it comes to chlorates and sulfur, and practice good careful techniques when using them.
Alright so in theory I should be able to use chlorates instead off perchlorate’s I wanted to use the chlorates for a couple off star comps that I saw on sky lighter.com but as I noticed all off them used perchlorate’s instead off chlorates so I should be able to use chlorates in the recipes instead off perchlorate’s although I have to be more careful thanks again really was a big help
one question, why do u need a tube buster? to seperate the shell and sticks to reduce wheigt and downforce? would be nice to get this answered after more than 2 years ^^ good job tho, like your rockets :)
@@alexMeier1000 "Technically", Alex, one of these lawn-darting spent rockets, coming down on the top of my head, would kill me dead. Not a good thing. (-:
Why do commercial rockets like texas pop rocket or black cat rockets have like a dried type black powder? Its almost like it was poured in because some of them have spills over the edges that is hard black powder. Do they mix it with water then pour it into the tube? If anyone knows thank you.
It's a timed salute which destroys the spent tube/sticks so they don't come down like a lawn dart. You can see and hear it go off after the heading has displayed.
Must one possess 1.3 certification to build home-made fireworks such as this? If not, what are the legal requirements? A link would be great, thanks in advance to anyone willing to help.
That's a complicated question, CH. I'd suggest getting a copy of the ATF "Orange Book", and also checking out your State and Local laws. We discuss this a lot in the website.
All awesome! Not really a whole lot of difference even when the burst was doubled though, so beautiful to begin with it seems like the double burst isn't worth it. Great shells as always not matter what.
Hi ned can you help me out i made time fuse for 2"cylinder shell and my time fuse burn 4sec / inch how much lift do i need to lift in the air to a safe distance to its not fall back
That's too much time for that small shell. I'd recommend shortening that timing first of all. If you need to use that shell with that timing, I'd use more lift powder than normally used, yep. But, that amount will depend on a lot of variables. Good luck.
ned gorski it was 2 inch and the fuse burns with 4sec /inch and this mean if i cut 1/2 inch of the 2" i will get 6sec and know i don't know how much g Bp i need for the lift
:D Extreme I have no idea. That's simply way too much timing on such a shell. Even if you can get it high enough for that timing to function, the shell burst will be so high it'll look so small, and if it breaks on the way down, you'll get more of a horsetail break.
Ned has educated me for years with his videos, nobody makes better rockets/effects/timings. Thank You Sir for all the knowledge You have shared!
Hey, thanks, Marko. I'm glad you've found the info of value. Enjoy.

The tube buster eliminates potentially damaging/lethal fallout from the rocket, Alex.

You may be looking at a prime slurry that is applied when the rockets are fused, E8.
@@nedgorski oh nice thank you for the response. So thats what the stuff is well thank you for the information.
Your # 2 is my fave. You got an excellent hang in your willows Despite the wind. :)
Ti incorporated into your stars huh?
Very Nice.
You always do work beyond the unexpectation. I love to see your work that you doing.
Please tell me how to make chinese ice fountain 3meter 30seconds.
Thanks, Shahbaz. I have no idea about those ice fountains, though. I have no experience with such devices.

What qualifies as slow flash? Do you just use larger mesh aluminum?
It also uses potassium nitrate as the oxydizer.
