    When you ger 62 years old, if your lucky enough to make it that far, all that jumping around stops .Flush type fittings are used in aircraft . They will not get sheared off upon impact. You are working in mud, You put bigger equipment in there it might get stuck. A real disadvantage for any equipment. Thank you for the video I 'm interested in buying one of these. I am very impressed with your video.

    As a former owner of a Kubota U-25 mini X (that I sold, as I thought I was thru with projects, then I bought another 30 acres...) one of these would be a step down, BUT, for the price, I am getting very interested, as I really miss the U-25. I operate a 30 ton boom truck for a living, and when I found a 1400 pound counterweight was a factory certified (important, gotta keep it legal) option, I bought one, and it makes all the difference in what I can safely do with it, stability wise. It would be very simple to install more counterweight on one of these, carefully and with testing. Too much counterweight could be bad. I've got bids out for shipping one to Idaho, but I could also drive there and carry it in my 1 ton flatbed, no trailer, small as it is.

    I have a groundhog kh14G, essentially the same machine. I added blower fans to the side vents to draw air in and keep the pump and engine cooler. It gets "burn your skin" hot in the summer sun and that helps a ton.
    If you're digging stumps, i like the pick, tooth, attachment. I can rip a bush out in about 3 to 4 minutes with it and it leaves a much smaller hole when you're done.
    Lots of bolts will probably loosen up on you. Get some blue locktite and apply liberally.
    Also, dont skip that break in oil change. Its essentially.

      @SpicerDesignsLLC I can't remember exactly, but I know a company broke off from Groundhog. I thought it was Kymron, but I may be remembering it wrong. I think they both originally ordered from Hightop machines in China. I know Nick from Groundhog, a long time operator and equipment guy, worked one on one with the manufacturer to have certain areas reinforced and upgraded, so he would have a superior product to the normal imported machine. From what I've seen, Kymron has done very similar upgrades. So I don't believe Kymron is at all an inferior machine. I've only worked with Nick when I bought my machine, but he was a true blue collar, honest, shake your hand and stand by his product type of guy....so I'm partial to Groundhog. But I'll admit I'm biased based on my experience. 😁

    That little thing definitely has more power then weight. If it were my machine I'd probably try to figure out how I can add more weight to the back to help it from tipping over with a heavy load. Maybe something simple like a weight rack to hold tractor style suitcase weights, that can be removed very easily if I need be. Also I'd be looking into installing a axillary 12v electric fan to help pull the heat out of the engine bay.

    As far as ethanol free, absolutely worth it for all small engines! Especially ones where the fuel will suit for awhile. Ethanol in lament terms attracts water out of the air which then mixed with the fuel and water is heavier so it sits down at the bottom of the tank where the fuel is drawn from! Another tip, go get some StarTron from napa or wherever you can find it there. Mix that with the fuel, don't use Stabil that crystallizes. The Startron will help any water that does get in there burn off. When you buy ethanol free at the pump if it's a shared pump there's a good chance you'll get ethanol from the hose. I buy VP brand pre canned 5 gal is best value but still expensive $80.-100. A can.

    BTW - Do you have a new swale work you need to do on the property? If so, would like to see what 'machine' you'd use.

    Looks like the little Kymron could use a larger counterbalance. Might be a fun project to build a steel-framed counterbalance using the Langmuir. How big of a market is there for rentals like this? Did you have to get special insurance or are you offering supplemental insurance for folks who buy and break it?

      The teeth are bolt on so you could just remove them to get a smooth edge. I talk about that in the next video too. And the hydraulic thumb is standard on the Kymrons

    Hey Kyle! Few things.. Your going to kill yourself in that thing bwhahah. Better have a 40 hour safety course if you are going to rent it out 🤪😜. BTW I got the Hat!! Thanks. But noticed a few irregularities. First went down to the drive way to get it, then came up stairs, open the box, put it on and fell down the F*&k^ing stairs. I was so Pi$$ed off that I went to the machine, no i mean the machine, Machine... REFRIDGERATOR dammit! and got a Keystone light. That's all for now... got to take my new MiG welder that i bought for some dam reason and repair the effen branch that fell off the dam tree in the wind last night! Why am I cursing?

    • @SpicerDesignsLLC
      @SpicerDesignsLLC  4 місяці тому +1

      It does have a pretty decent counterweight. Im guessing is a couple hundred pounds. Not many of the 1 ton units have them but Kymron adds them to theirs.

    You'd be better off with a stumper attachment rather than the bucket for cutting roots. There's a lot more power in the slender blades of the stumper than the bucket in such work. Hopefully, Kymmar makes the stumper too. Otherwise I'd never recommend this little unit for stump removal as it would be dangerous for the average Joe. For ditching and pickup using the thumb it looks impressive though.
