Yep. A Wisconsin trapper. I saw that video as well and went to Walmart right away to buy multiple boxes. I'm anxious to try them out on my Michigan lines.
Another great video Lt and thanks for keep bringing them new ideas to us. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you. See you Sunday evening on the show. 👍 FB jail 😆🤣😂
😂🙌 thanks brother, yeah Facebook jail is ridiculous. Someone made a fake profile of my moms and tried adding me on fb....needless to say I went off on them and got reported
The ammo box for weasels is a cool idea, I caught an otter, got a double actually, down here in unit C last week, with a tube I made out of a big piece of field tile and a 330 with some walleye scraps inside, worked like a charm.
@@jimburns7802 I can’t figure out the post but it’s a big piece of 16” field tile, cut about 2 feet long, with two old rails from a tree stand on the bottom that acts as the legs, I’ve got a 6” cut of 12ga wire, strung up in the middle to hold bait, and slits cut on each side for a .330 to slide into on each opening, but I only ran one trap in the tube when I caught her. It sits parallel to the river bottom and uses a cable and a carabiner to secure to a log. It does float so some heavy tree branches or extra long T bars are necessary.
@@jimburns7802 mostly submerged yeah in a spot where the water is only as deep as the tube resting on the bottom, otters don’t dive as much like a beaver or rat that will travel on the bottom, so close to or breaching the surface is how you want it I think
Lowell: I'm anxious to see how your ammo boxes work for you. I noticed that you drilled your 2" diameter entry hole in the center of the box end rather than higher up like Skye Goode did. When weasels enter your box they will be coming in just above the trap pan rather than hopping down on it from above. What I'm concerned about is that they may launch themselves over the top of the pan and fire the trap in a bad position. You may have a valid reason for why you drilled the holes where you did. If so, let me know. Thanks.
@@LTOutdoors15 I'm going to let you be the "guinea pig" 🙂 I'm going to hold off on drilling my holes until after I receive a report from you as to how your hole position worked out.
@@LTOutdoors15 another concern I have about your hole position is the potential increase in non-target animal visits. Raccoons and domestic cats will be able to reach into the ammo box easier and set off your rat snap traps. Additionally mice, voles and shrews will be able to enter the boxes easier and set off your traps.
Those animals will all be an issue regardless of hole positioning. Any animal that wants to reach into a weasel box can easily do so. As far as rodents I welcome them. They add more appeal to the set. I've even put bird seed in my boxes over the years just to draw the mice
Hey I recognize like six places in your intro I take it you live by Alpena I'm over in Hillman I've already been out on Fletcher's this year I would love to go fishing with you out there
Hey Danny!! I'm sure we can meet up this winter! I'm always happy to meet with people. I live in Harrisville but I like to travel around I'll be on fletchers Saturday
Open here too I'm no good with a rifle at that range though. Figured rather than spook them I'll wait till I can go out with my call and set some snares after January 1st 😉
You and the pups have a very Merry Christmas 🐾🐾🎁🎄🎁🐾🐾🎁❤️❄️
Thanks Lisa, we're staying as warm as we can. Hoping we don't lose power. Merry Christmas to you and yours too
Can’t wait to see some catches with those boxes
It's going to be fun. I had to pull them yesterday due to this stupid storm. I'll get them back out when this crap calms down
Lady's name is Skye Goode 🙂

Very nice!!! I like that idea, they would be less wary as they can be with a bucket
Post a photo or diagram of your otter set. I can't visualize the setup.

@@claytonjohnpeak so the whole tube is underwater sitting on the river bottom?

I wanted them level with the holes. They fire so fast I'm pretty sure that it will make a great catch at that level. All a learning experience
