I didn't know Riddhe was still an old-type... I guess Banagher was just trying to get Riddhe to stop being a racist and thought saying "Hey your one of 'them' too" would mess with his head enough. Or he was just wrong and assumed "He's piloting the plot suit, he has to be a newtype."
Kinda shame they have to remove it's Vibro Nail (Armed Armor VN) and Beam Smartgun (Armed Armor BS) but understandably since hes an Old Type and likely couldn't use both weapons to it's fullest potential
My favorite series of MS. Along with Nu Gundam series. Norn a beast too. Wish Banagher and Riddhe just let go all out, get Bright and support, then just flatout KO corrupt the Fed and then just force out whatever corrupt Federation with evidence, then work together to have all three lead a new Federation government to a new beginning.
I don't think Riddhe is still old type. The attachment probably there initially because they(mechanic/leadership/whatever) assuming he isn't capable of activating full system that requires Newtypem
