Nanak Das in this poetry devotes an ode to his spiritual master, the one to whom he pertains as the embodiment of the answers to his awakening.
While heedlessly relishing worldly contentments, we tend to forget our true swan nature. Nanak says, when the true master appears, he liberates us from the endless cycles of rebirth and realizes us to our true nature, the one ever free and pure.
Our dear Lateeb, the one with an unbroken reserve of energy and his very spirited smiles has added charm to this ode by adding the melodic Rajasthani delight. With a habit to burst between songs with his playful Khartaal skills, he makes the audience dance to his passionate beats.
Lateeb here sings a voice of a newly married girl who spices up stories with her innocence to meet her groom. Making things exaggerated, she exclaims that a scorpion has bitten her. In a youthful love, she yearns for her husband to come and bring down the poison from her body.
Where one takes us closer to the self the other makes the heart lose in playful delight. Listen to this beautiful medley in the voice of Kabir Cafe and Lateeb Khan.

Who was I? Where did I come from?
Even unknown to my name!
My master showed such grace, turned me, a crow into a swan
Born on this earth, you got such a precious gift
O friend! keep fulfilling your doing
Wake up, you demented!

"Sang Kabir" is a 2-day music festival, curated for seekers and travellers to embrace the enchanting world of Kabir. The first and successful rendition of "Sang Kabir Music Festival" was organised at Jaipur, 26-27 February 2022 in collaboration with Jawahar Kala Kendra, Jaipur. It’s an extended version of “Rajasthan Kabir Yatra”, a week long travelling folk music festival held annually at Rajasthan, organised by Lokayan Sansthaan, in partnership with Rajasthan Police and Rajasthan Tourism.
