I'm glad to learn and practise English with you. Not only because you make the grammar easier, but your speaking is so clear that I'm able to understand all what you say. Thanks!
It is only a few days that I found the English lessons by 'Ms. Gill ' I have not words to tell how wonderful they are. I learn English many years ago but I did not have the opportunity to listen or to speak for many years now and to listen to Ms Gill is like listening to my favourite music. Thank you very much. You make me very happy, indeed.
My Gill, when I watch your lesson, I think:" I can do it, I understand what she says! I will able to make a conversation with a native speaker, one day! Thank you very much!
Hello teacher Gill!I am from Brazil.I am an English Teacher and I learned a lot with you. You´re excellent teacher!Thank you for everything!Congratulations!
Thank you very much, Gill! You are the perfect teacher! If you only knew how pleasant it is to listen and watch you! To me you are an example of a very polite and cultured British Lady! Thank you so much for your job!
Good morning Mis Gill, I can't thanks you enough, I'm really happy on your lesson and day after day I learn and I progress, so thank you my angels teacher Gill, so I have just a question, this pronunciation for American or England or it's same for both ? I hope you have a sweet day like you deserve. Your student Nabil from Algeria.
I have observed that in the UK, people pronounce ‘h’ as haitch with an aspirated h. This particularly so when spelling out words containing the letter h.
And then there are the words like herb & herbal, which we in England place in the first column, but our American cousins place in the third. The second column words sound different [in my opinion] because of the tongue placement for the following vowel sound. If you listen carefully, you'll also hear the 'raspier' sound in "heat" and "heal/heel"; this is because the tongue is raised for what we call a 'long E" sound. (And I can add one to the list where the following vowel isn't "U" - although it _is_ pronounced the same: "hew" :-)
Gill you're an outstanding English teacher!!! Understand English is quite easy with the way you teach it!!! Thank's a lot ! Stay safe ! God Bless ! Denis
Interesting but we need a second lesson about H WORDS SOUND into the context of a complete sentence (it often seems to disappear) and the H sound pronunciation within certain words such as: manhattan, vehicle, etc. Many thanks! ;)
you are the best english teacher ever! at least for me . love your accent love, the way you teach . you are so so so sweet lady . some times i like to hear your voice as i enjoy to hear a bird song.wish for you very very long life full of happiness dear.
Thank you. I find it very funny that individuals from England say "haitch" when calling the letter. As you said it is "aitch". So not "Haitch P" as in "HP" but "aitch P". In Jamaica the problem is this. Individuals remove the letter "h" from words that contain it and add it to words that have it not. Example: "Help" is pronounced "elp", "art" is pronounced "hart" Example below gives insight into how many say the Our Father Prayer: Our Father who art in Heaven = Hour Father who hart in aven This is mostly heard in the rural/country parts of the island and some urban areas as well. Students are not taught the incorrect removal of "h" from words in school however.
Hi, I have not noticed any difference between "h" sound in words from both first and second column. And you sounded excellently when you pretended to be an Android after "human" word. I am a Pole.
Dear Gill I'm very happy to learn and practice English with you also your accent pure English pronunciation. Please could you make a lesson about Charles Dickens short stories famous books Oliver twist, Great expectation, David Copperfield. Thank you so much God bless you. Manchester .
