I started paddle surfing on an inflatable. It works ok for the basics but when you want to start getting some decent turns in you'll be ready to move over to a hard board.

Yes mask are important in most situations. In this one its a joke. They are outside away from anyone. The mask are simply for show. It's almost impossible to understand them if English is your first language. If it's your second you have very little idea what they said.

I understand that when one provides a nif during a purchase that one may get a refund depending on income and purchases completed during a tax year. It is automatically provided to the fiscal department. I think it compares to the VAT value added tax and one receives VAT back if one is in a certain income bracket in Portugal. If someone likes to chime in and provide further clarification...

The wheels are in motion for the entire family to move over before the school year starts in September 2022. My girls are in high school and full English so we will have to locate in the Algarve for the girls to attend an English school there. I am an avid Kite Surfer and have already spotted various Kite Surfing spots in the Algarve, but the one thing that I still don't have 100% clarity on is, is a wet suite required? Is the water as cold as those oceans back in Cape Town (i.e. Blouberg, Big Bay etc.)

Sure, anything a little away from the coast. Obviously, the Alentejo is the most peaceful place but small towns around Loulé are great: Boliqueime, São Brás de Alportel, Santa Barbara de Neixe and Estoi. Homes in the country around Silves and Algoz would be lovely and peaceful too.

You are not even allowed on the beaches now and especially when you are surfing you get fined. Plus Surfing and a nif number have nothing to do with eachother, You can surf with or without and at the moment not at all.
You actually can surf, there are GNR at the beach sometimes and lots of people out. They have made special arrangements in Faro and Loulé concelhos at least.
I have never seen people listen so blindly to authorities without questioning the facts. Masks, masks, masks everywhere, Portugal looks like a ghost town, such pitty. We had planned to get a D7 visa and were considering moving to portugal but after seeing the scene, We dropped the idea. Where are the people to stand up for their rights and speak up? Dissappinting

Also when one sits alone on a bench with a mask outside with no one in 10 meters radius nearby, the police will come and ask to keep moving so one doesn’t spread covid. Beach and park benches are blocked so one can’t sit outside in fresh air but one can congregate at home or sit down when taking a bus or a train... Germany also has the worst lockdown for weeks crippling small businesses and they just reported the highest rise in covid cases today. Lets keep up with the lockdown!
Where are all the people?? We started our preliminary process to apply for a D7 visa but everything we saw from videos in Portugal were deserted beautiful places, everything looked like ghost towns, everyone wearing masks, seems no one has guts to look at reality, look at the science and simply everyone listens to authorities without questioning them , extremely disappointing for such beautiful place !
I was under the impression that the lockdown at present prohibits you from moving between districts? So I do hope the footage you’ve just posted on the beaches up at Alvor is old. It's a good question, I doubt you would need a NIF for less than three months... It's essentially a holiday rent.

That's true but it's optional. For example if I go to a supermarket they always ask whether you want to record the transaction with a NIF or not.

Hi Michael, we have surf all around although in the summer it's flat on the south coast, good on the west. Check Magic seaweed for more detailed info.

Sure, anything a little away from the coast. Obviously, the Alentejo is the most peaceful place but small towns around Loulé are great: Boliqueime, São Brás de Alportel, Santa Barbara de Neixe and Estoi. Homes in the country around Silves and Algoz would be lovely and peaceful too.

You are not even allowed on the beaches now and especially when you are surfing you get fined. Plus Surfing and a nif number have nothing to do with eachother, You can surf with or without and at the moment not at all.
You actually can surf, there are GNR at the beach sometimes and lots of people out. They have made special arrangements in Faro and Loulé concelhos at least.
I have never seen people listen so blindly to authorities without questioning the facts. Masks, masks, masks everywhere, Portugal looks like a ghost town, such pitty. We had planned to get a D7 visa and were considering moving to portugal but after seeing the scene, We dropped the idea. Where are the people to stand up for their rights and speak up? Dissappinting
@@ericbalanchi9936 They don’t want surfers to catch covid from sea water and fish. Also when one sits alone on a bench with a mask outside with no one in 10 meters radius nearby, the police will come and ask to keep moving so one doesn’t spread covid. Beach and park benches are blocked so one can’t sit outside in fresh air but one can congregate at home or sit down when taking a bus or a train... Germany also has the worst lockdown for weeks crippling small businesses and they just reported the highest rise in covid cases today. Lets keep up with the lockdown!

Where are all the people?? We started our preliminary process to apply for a D7 visa but everything we saw from videos in Portugal were deserted beautiful places, everything looked like ghost towns, everyone wearing masks, seems no one has guts to look at reality, look at the science and simply everyone listens to authorities without questioning them , extremely disappointing for such beautiful place !

I was under the impression that the lockdown at present prohibits you from moving between districts? So I do hope the footage you’ve just posted on the beaches up at Alvor is old. It would be a bit hypocritical posting a video telling ex pats how to get a NIF if you were ignoring the law. But I’m sure you haven’t have you.
I had authorization to work on another job in Alvor, so don't worry Martin, it was perfectly legal.
