I listened to that who podcast, there really wasn’t criticism of the church. (Yes I know the people are the church,) it was criticism of people in the church
Let’s be clear those are some truths that Tye Tribbett spoke HOWEVER, those are things that should not be spoken on a podcast for unbelievers to hear because it will keep them away from the church. Wisdom is key. You cannot speak about the church universally as if the body is like that.

The black church of today is more concerned about its building fund. It’s not concerned about missionary work or the community. But be at bible study every week, attend Sunday school, noon day prayer, and by all means…pay your tithes and offerings. The black church was once a staple in the community, not only being a place to worship but also to discuss civil rights, strategies, politics, host community outreach events, etc etc. Now We just want to shout and hear a feel good message to make since of the madness the enemy throws at us, all while believing the democratic politicians that appease our emotions the most with WORDS.

Facts
Tye Tribbet took a percentage of what goes on in the church and made a general statement about the church institute as being whack like the church collectively said "let's have wolves in sheep clothing represent the whole body of Christ". Bishop Wooden is talking about all the nuances is Tribbet's statement. It's like if a black man goes on someone's podcast who doesn't necessarily like black people and he goes on there and vents off a frustrating point in the black community and then say I think the way black people live is whack. He'll give the podcast host/hollowers even more of a reasons to not get over their issues with the black community.

You do realize no one is going to listen to the whole message. Right or wrong what he said was too much and too easily misconstrued and that's the issue. Why didn't he take the time to turn that question against the devil and attack him? You don't hear him say the devil has caused man to twist what God made for our good. You are missing the whole point.... and the message of this video !!! It's irresponsible as a seasoned believer to be in the presence of unbelievers spewing reckless words that will lead the sinner deeper into an abyss of discord and darkness, or paint the church [ the ekklesia] with unbalanced truths and lack of substance! This is more about leaving the unsaved with a distorted image of who Jesus Christ is or His body than Tye Tribett being in his feelings about the institutional church. Indeed, It is necessary to lament the wiles of life inside the church, but it is dangerous when we assume that everyone else is uplifted by our conversations. We need to keep asking: who are we talking to! If even Jesus, Yeshua, the Christ used his words with careful consideration among the unsaved, then so should we. My issue with Tye Tribbett's interview was 2 things : 1. He lost his identity in the midst of non- believers, and 2. He avoided giving a well-balanced response to appease the culture. When Jesus told the Twelve to be as wise as serpents and harmless as doves, He laid down a general principle about the technique of kingdom work. As we take the gospel to a hostile world [ i.e. the breakfast club] we must be wise (avoiding the snares set for us), and we must be innocent (serving the Lord blamelessly). Jesus was not suggesting that we stoop to deception but that we should model some of the serpent’s famous shrewdness in a positive way. Wisdom does not equal dishonesty, and innocence does not equal gullibility.

How does these preachers stay abreast of these secular podcast and platforms and always having to set the record straight? How about preach the gospel and live it. What you won’t find in these holiness churches is compassion and unconditional love, non judgmental……. Let the gospel convict and change the hearts of individuals. Lead by example and be transparent instead of acting like Christianity is perfection. Preachers have institutionalized church and made it about memberships to a cathedral rather the church being the body of Christ being the church.

Can't bash them. You have to continue to educate. Many believers need the Word direction. Can't blame the Hook/Interview for his mishap. I like the response on how he should have responded.
Sadly, the main people criticizing the church aren't doing anything to help fix or address the problems. We have imperfect people trying to do what is spiritual operating in their flesh. You never hear Muslims or Buddhists publicly criticise their faith but Christians not on condemn but also crucify their people.
When I got saved it was the music of Tye Tribbett that kept me and helped grow me as a baby Christian. He has self admitted that he isn’t perfect and has had many crashes in his walk but pressing into Jesus brought him back and humbled him and reminded him of his calling. Brothers in Christ who criticize other brothers in Christ in public are the problem with the church. If God is using him, pray for him and help him stay on the path with his mission. SMH - this is dividing the brethren and something God abhors.

As a PK mos def it caused me to be very rebellious some would say that didn’t know me, but my Pops being real showing me the real helped me understand both sides of the church. I watched and seen several things go down and up in the church. I study the word for myself and trust and know that I am the church. Let your light so shine and be real. The Holy Spirit is real and so are the many demons. Just choose in your mind and heart who you will serve and the path will definitely come to you, knock and it shall be opened to you. C'mon ya'll. We need to stop! Tye spoke the truth about the church. This was a rebuke that should have been a phone call. Tye tribbett handled it fine. I've watched the interview a number of times. And I can't find where Bishops description was clear. It was more of his opinion than anything. Bishops acknowledged himself of the church mistakes. This was unnecessary. There was no need for the public rebuke on this one.

Tye was as wrong as two left shoes on two right feet. You don't go on a secular radio show/podcast and say the church -- it's systems, etc. -- is whack. He was talking out both sides of his face and wrong. The unsaved don't need to know about things that may have gone on in the church that one may not agree with -- it doesn't concern them. If Tye felt that way, he should have called the folks he had the problem with, not get on secular radio and under the guise of sharing his hurt, deter people from coming to Jesus Christ. It's no different than if you have an issue in your family; do you go tell everyone about it or do you address it with your family? That's the problem with the interview. Tye is trying to get acceptance from the world via his hurt. He had the opportunity to spread the gospel and he squandered it. God and His people are not pleased with it. Tye clearly forgot that it's the same church folks who who criticized are the ones who helped make him who he is today, buying his music. Jesus Christ is coming back for His bride, the church, very soon. Listen to Tye if you want to; you'll miss Jesus Christ and be on your way to hell. There is a time and place for everything -- The Breakfast Club was not the time or the place for His comments. Period.

This is interesting. I understood what he was talking about ..using the discernment of the Holy Spirit and needing to know when to say some things and keep silent about others. To be fair I didn’t watch the interviews he’s referencing but to be clear ..the church on its worst day is not better than the world. The large majority of Jesus’ ministry was spent condemning the church of that time. The church is not above the Bible, the word of God, nor Jesus. Ultimately we as humans are in no position to tell another human that they do not have the Holy Spirit. I wish people would just let people be. And what has been so clear and evident over these last several months is that the enemy is running rampant in the church causing chaos and division amongst believes and messages like these DO NOT HELP
How many of yall actually watched the interview? Did this preacher actually watch?? It does not sound like it. Tye Tribbett was a light and he mentioned the systems of the church in a short few seconds. Every thing else he talked about was how we should love, live and treat each other, especially as believers. Smh. Listen to the FULL interview instead of social media snippets.

You might need to stop worrying about the celebrities that don't do nor can nor will do a thing for you and start worrying about what Joe Biden and the Demonrats are really doing and the real reason that they don't want Donald Trump to become president again. As a PK myself I don’t trust churches at all. I saw so much and I am so grateful that I didn’t fall away bc of what I saw and experienced. As a small kid I felt uncomfortable watching my dad preach bc I knew he was lying to all these people and they looked up to him too!!

I wonder if persons listened to the entire interview. This is the same Tye who stood up against the gospel music industry with strong conviction.
This is the same Tye who was adressing a system that the church has embraced which is not reflecting the nature of Jesus Christ. In that same interview he engaged the host and had them share their experiences while he stood unwavering on his commitment to Jesus.
The last thing he did was pray with the hosts on their request. From what I saw Tye represented Christ fully while stating the damage that some systems have done to many people. Sometimes as leaders its important that we look at statements in their context.
When you isolate statements from their context we will end up with religious people criticizing Jesus accusing Him of wanted to destroy the temple and rebuild in three days. Tye himself is a pastor which says something about his commitment to God but what he was speaking about was the system that has been created. Maybe its time to have the hard conversations about what are the systems that have been built that ostracized people and damaged many. @@GodsDisciple I’m not sure where his message aligns scripturally but imagine you coming back to church and this man’s message is what you hear. You hear one man basically gossiping about his own opinion of another man’s opportunity on a media platform. Not one part of this clip showed the love of Jesus. At least Tye prayed for the people at the end of the interview. Tye mentioned the name of Jesus several times in his conversation…not a lot of people who are believers even mention it especially on these massive platforms. It’s crazy how it’s our own people ready to throw the stones.
