I found the trick to the bead NOT sticking to the toothpick is to coat the toothpick with vaseline and then add the bead. Just a little will have the bead sliding off the toothpick smoothly EVERY time.

I'm wondering if you have ever thought about using sealants like Mod Podge acrilic sealer spray. Krylon also has a great spray sealer. They come in Matte and Gloss and it makes glazing so much faster.

I have tried various sprays but I don't feel like they do as well for the money.

Do they not stick to the toothpick?

They can sometimes. It helps if you run the wood toothpicks on a candle first, or use plastic toothpicks.

Okay great video but you need to stick your toothpicks in candle wax first before putting the paper beads on them . I hope this help you because now your paper beads will not stick to the toothpicks.
