because it's cool to show off and you can resell it on other websites. it's not like you loose your money like other games where u cannot resell the skin u bought
I’m into skins because I like collecting things in general. Their also cool to show off in game. However, the number 1 way to win with skins is to just never get involved with them at all. 😂

What I really dislike, though, is how these microtransactions (and some games are even worse than CS) encourage kids, especially teenagers, to gamble £5 or whatever the cost is for a key to open a box in the hope of a big reward.

i mean around 1.5 $ for one open, 1/700 to get red which is around 300$, so you buy the collection for half the price of an case and get half the chances to get a red. it is not that bad

@@oskar5239 That's true but my thinking is that the current collections are going to last much longer than previous operations. Only the LTD item (heat treated deagle) has a timer. So if they only rotate the LTD and not the collections it would destroy the price of them.
Every case-like thing in the game share the same odds, where the next rarity is 5 times rarer, except for a rare special item, so charm odds are similar to the collections except for the collection red
The amount of "farmers" have gone down quite a lot, you cant even find a "farming" lobbies anymore. I'd say casual players aren't buying passes anymore , investors/content creators might. Everyone bought the pass at armory launch, we still have a lot of supply from this. The prices won't skyrocket, since you can still buy a pass and get the items from there but the quantity numbers are definitely gonna stay low. Not expecting to make profits from the armory items as long as the items are available, which seems long term. Personally I'm stocking up on the low price items, sniping blue gems. Fade is gonna hit $100 at some point, buy it then.
Which is more than they made playing the same game before where they made 0.00$ on Steam spending the same time. Also if you activate all 5 passes and sell for 1.16$ you made 25$ profit and it takes just 1-2 days to complete all 200 stars or 100 cases if you play a lot. Question only is if it's going to be worth 1.16$ right away so you can do it again or if you have to wait weeks or month for them to hit that price.
i genuinely dont know but i would assume the gallery case isnt going to be in the active drop pool for the cases. it might be put into the rare drop pool but 90% of cases are in that pool anyway so my assumption would be if your trying to be safe. just save cases. it also doesnt seem like anyone is listing the gallery case for anything below a dollar and 80 cents is where you just start to see profit. so as long as that trend of people not listing the gallery case below a dollar then it is profit technically. opening collections though i dont see as being a "safe" choice. im curious about ur opinion on the cases though.
I’m just not sure on anything in the pass long term. The only item we know for sure will be gone after 90 days is the Deagle. Valve has stated that the armory will be permanent and I doubt they are going to pay skin creators millions every 3 months to keep a rotation of skins. As for the case if it isn’t added to the drop pool it may be “safe” but no investment is ever safe especially CS skins.

If your playing cs anyways and u buy the Steam balance with skins, the case is okay profit and i think it will stay that way. Not worth it to play cs just for the cases

how is it worthless???? i bought 5 passes and unboxed 3 axia glocks and 1 rainbow spoon galial, sold all 4 for a total of around $260, the 5 passes cost me around $75, so i profited and also have tons of other skins as well in inventory. so how is this pass worthless exactly?
Obviously worth it if you get lucky. But the chance to pull pinks is under 1% for the average person they are not going to profit. On top of that the longer this operation/event goes on supply of those skins will increase, dropping their value. Just because someone unboxed a knife from a case doesn’t make it profitable on average just to the person that unboxed it.

Not yet. Imo as more of the skins are off market/tradehold the prices will continue to drop. Only time will tell though.

if someone were to redeem 20 cases with their 40 stars and sell for about ~1.05-1.1 USD, theyd make like 3-4 bucks on steam
