Kveik is the path to go.I have harvested yeastcake and reused many times since i first pitched dry Voss, in march 2020.Never bought any yeast since.Still get 80% attenuation.

Love your low cost approach and how inquisitive you are. Keep it going bud ! Would love you to see try some noble German hops like Tettnanger, Hallertau and Hersbrucker, they are my favorites.

Happy Brew Year! I have found using Nottingham I get a slightly fruitier profile the second time around. Works wonderful for my bitters. US-05 is the Chico strain (Sierra Nevada brewing in Northern California) the yeast has a very adaptive quality to it and mutates quickly due to subtle changes in it's environment. I challenge you to do this again but try another yeast. I will try to harvest Imperial liquid yeast 2 to 3 times since it is 12 dollars here in the US (I think that's 15 or 16 Australian?). I can get a whole pound of hops for what they charge for yeast so I try to stretch that a little.

@@parrey1985 yes, I have subbed - would love a walkthrough of your all grain setup, really interested in the heating element in the large plastic bucket to do the mash and boil. Ive not made the jump to lol grain brewing, I’ve done a lot of extract brewing, and am now fortunate enough to be able to afford fresh wort kits - working 10 mins from a couple of well known Melbourne home brew shops helps as I don’t to freight fresh wort. The quality jump from extract to fresh wort is appreciable, which makes me think about all grain - but the setup always seems complex or expensive.
Looking forward to the next vid in Feb!

@@jonoleslie trust me, move to all grain, its so much better.
As for my set up, it's a very normal looking boiler now, my "death bucket" sprung 3 leaks last week at the spigot, thermowell, and element.
Having said that, the plastic boiler was $100, and I got a year out of it.
