    Yuzuru has always struggled breathing ending his programs. I don't think it's a matter of age. I would say it's quite the opposite, if you watch him younger he was more exhausted at the end of his program than now. Perhaps more to do with his asthma.

    Yuzuru's 4A attempts cannot affect him in the free as he attempted it in the Gala practice. According to the interview he popped as he jumped at the same spot he bore a hole on the ice during 6 min practice. That's why he was pouting and tapped the spot where he popped after the free.

    I CANT explain how much i love this ladies podium (not because of the order, but bc of these ladies), Anna is such a consistent and unproblematic little person, she just gets things done and gives all she has at the moment. I fell in love with Kaori when she won 2020 NHK Trophy, i did not pay attention before that sadly, beheading some judges was her path into my heart, she is having a nice season and i am rooting for her like crazy. Liza is not responsible for her coache's actions but she did respond saying "He was looking for my components" not sure how to bold on here but components was bold, impling it was a joke. I'm not sure if it was an attempt to cover up his actions or brush it off but it came off as rude and insensitive, not to mention how long she took to come up with and answer for how she felt about her japanese inspired program at this comp. Sis took like 2 minutes it looked like anna was feeding her a politically correct answer. A 20 something year old should not be looking to a 17 year old to help them explain a program with stereotypical "asian" music that they preformed with badly written kanji on the back of their costume. Just not great vibes there
      Edit: a Russian speaker has kindly informed me through the comments that Anna was just translating for Liza and the long response time was just issues with English. Doesn't detract from the issues in the program but she doesn't necessarily have complete control over that. My bad, thank you for informing me 🙂

    To be honest, I am not able to wrap my head around the reason why Yuzuru doesn't go train to Canada to the Cricket Club where his coaches are if he so desperately wants to land the 4A in the past few months and instead insists on staying alone in Japan, plus barely having any Zoom call training sessions with them as Brian has stated - sure, he has enough experience to train on his own at this point and actually make some sort of progress, but not when it comes to the 4A, where one definitely needed some supervision and extra pair of eyes.
    And while I want him to finally land that "stupid" jump, I genuinely don't want him to get injured in the Olympic season, which is very likely going to be his last Olympic season, let's be honest - I don't think that he would still be around for the 2026 Olympics at the age of 30. The other attempts of his at the WTT that were caught on camera were without a doubt on the edge of another nasty ankle injury, which would be the least convenient thing he would need to deal with this season.

      I agree with your points. One of the reasons he is isolating so strictly might be because of his asthma. Contracting Covid with that pre-existing condition could very well end his career/this Olympic season. The Russian ladies all took such a hit with Covid (Anna hyperventilating, Aliona losing 3A...) and they are so much younger. (Not everything can be blamed on Covid but we can't forget that almost every single skater has some sort of pre-existing injury/health risk)

What he said about Plushenko and all this situation with students and coaches going towards and backwards is that you just can't achieve everything at once. It takes years to build a good team and make your own strategy that will be working. And as bad as it may seem, there is a good side - Plushenko will gain a lot of experience out of this and have a chance to learn on his mistakes. He can't become the best coach in the field at once, it's simply impossible. It took more than 20 years for Eteri to become who she is now. honestly, i'm really dreading the olympic season. i feel like one of the russian girls isn't gonna get an olympic ticket bc of Valieva and whoever it is, it's gonna influence russian figure skating A LOT. if it's Tuktamysheva it's gonna prove that grown women aren't really competitive anymore, if it's Shcherbakova it proves the Eteri expiration date (and i really want Anna to kinda "achieve the impossible") and if it's Trusova it's more or less over for Plushenko and he's right now one of the only ones fighting against the Sambo 70 domination.

    • @jychoi5026
      @jychoi5026 3 роки тому +2

      quads are naturally finicky and hard to be consistent with. she's popped/fell on them sometimes and landed them other times throughout last season as well. during russian nationals she was having trouble landing them in warmup, but landed it in competition without issue, and at wtt she landed them in warmup and stepped out on the landing in competition itself. it's a problem that you see in men's figure skating as well, and even among the rest of the quad jumping ladies as well - you see both Sasha and Kamila pop jumps or fall or step out on the landing from time to time.
      also the issue here is a step out, not a lack of rotation/air time. her axis is right for the jump as well so i sincerely doubt its a long term jump problem per se

    As usual, your commentary is flawed and your hyperbole is around the bend. But it is very amusing, I'll give you that. I want to know what you're stoned on when you put these things together - because I want some so I can annoy my friends, too. This particular effort is really entertaining and you do get more things right than you get wrong. A turn around of many of your previous opinions that is overdue. Cheers to you!
    I'm not sure which ISU Worlds Ladies event you were watching, but in the real one that actually happened and the rest of the world saw, Liza Tuktamysheva took the Silver medal, not the Bronze. Or are you confusing Stockholm with Osaka? But how could you do that? Liza won the Bronze for the FS in Osaka, and it hadn't even happened yet at that point in your clip.
    As I have commented before to one of your other posts, Team Plush was bound to self destruct - and I'm glad you have seen the light. Welcome aboard. Evgeni is no coach, he's a promoter using his wife's money to blow up his own skirt.
    I do agree that the best surprise of the World Team Trophy was Kaori Sakamoto. Best she's ever skated and she could be a new face of Japan Ladies skating. If she can get a 3A and a quad or two ... but that's a lot o' mass to get up in the air and turn so fast.
    Also, I'm glad that you can see/admit the grit and excellence that Anna Shcherbakova has displayed since she turned Senior. 12 wins (Gold or 1st) out of the 15 competitions she has entered as a Senior is not because of rigged scoring. She's just that good. She's also been adjusting to her physical growth and biological maturing surprisingly well - and my bet is that she will prove all of the 17 yo expiration date yodelers wrong. Her internal steel has proven over and over that she is the most balanced skater at the Senior competition level (that is, if Tuktamysheva hasn't already done that). Her only threat is likely to be Kamila Valieva - whose nickname ought to be 'The Beast'. She is already more athletic than Trusova and has more artistry than Sasha has ever displayed.
    The real battle for Ladies at the 2022 Beijing podium will probably take place in Russia for who makes the team.
    Time for fans of others (Kihira, etc.) to quit on the excuses and attacks when things don't go so well for their fave skater(s). Boo hoo. Lots of skaters either skate injured or bow out until they recover. It's wha sensible athletes do. The best skaters usually make out.*
    *Exception being Trusova at the Worlds, who should never have skated two programs that she knew would be fraught with missed jumps and would look terrible - no style, no real choreography - just skating from jumping pass to jumping pass to rack up points whether she hit or missed, with other content sprinkled in because it was required. It's the flaw of technical scoring value(s) - too much base score and/or not enough GOE penalty for bad quads - that she abused to get the bronze at Worlds. 12 > 3? No way. The smirk on her face until Lady Tuk knocked her out of the leader's chair said it all. She needs a real coach or she will be digging snow cone divots out of the ice on her falls for the other skaters avoid until she ends her career. She's the best advertisement for Zamboni that I can think of.
    Prattle on, Paola. It is amusing for sure, and I can't help but watch your schtick, even though at times it infuriates me. I do get a lot of laughs, too.
    Note to self: "Why so serious, son?"
    And ... what do you get stoned on? I gotta get me some o' that.

    • @divinearia1601
      @divinearia1601 3 роки тому +1

      Why would you insinuate that Nathan doesn't try or work hard just because his ego isn't big enough to care about being the first person to ever land a 4A? His goals are different from Yuzu's. You don't need to put another skater down just to make your favorite look better. That's so petty of you. Also, Nathan's artistry isn't at all like Yuzu's or Browns but it doesn't mean he doesn't have any. He has a completely different style. He has a style that feels very natural and genuine. Yuzu and Jason Brown, IMO, come off as way too artificial. It's like they're 'putting on an act' and there's a lot of over-acting involved...which, feels cheesy at times. Jason is a sweetheart but I find his skating the most artificial and, thus, not at all easy on the eyes. You're from the US and you don't admire Nathan. That's fine. Each to his or her own. But I and many others are from the US and we love Nathan. There's no need to trash him by making it sound like even his own country dislikes him...because that is not at all true.
