The fabric I use is Robert Kaufman Kona Cotton Fabric. It is very good quality neat even weave (plain weave) cotton fabric with a variety of colors. The price range is around $5 ~ $7 per yard (the cheapest, safe, and good website as far as I know, I ordered my fabrics from this website).

This has to be one of the best instructional videos I've ever seen. Very clear instructions, we get to see each stitch slowly-ish & we get to see each several times before you speed up the video or jump to the end of that section & then slowing down again to teach us the next step/stitch.. And the mini pop up window to show exactly what to do, as well as the pop ups of the stitch you are using & exactly what thread you are using with the color example is just such a valuable & essential approach to instruction. I do wish the mini pop up window would have been used more. I still don't get the split stitch lol But seriously, with all you did to make it easier on us to learn, thank you, thank you, thank you!!!
This is the perfect format. Please more with the drawings, strand numbers and the DMC floss color number. Thank you for these videos!

It's really easy for me..haha! Cos I have been practicing a lot. Don't be afraid to make the 1st step. You can't just expecting a perfect outcome on your 1st piece but you will see the progress you made after more practicing 😉
