Waqf Act amendment is now sent to JPC. Instead the government should have simply repealed the existing act and also made a direction that all existing Waqf properties should have been kept in audit. What would have happened if the government had done this? They would have gone on appeal to the top court. If that happened, then all pending cases would have come out.
