This video is WAAYYY more useful then the iFixit one.
This. This is fantastic. Thank you for mentioning the screws.
Great teardown. Thanks so much.
Thanks for sharing this content. I did not follow your instructions (I followed iFixit) and while trying to disconnect the battery cable I broke the logic board connectors, now the laptop works but as a Desktop not as a Laptop. Do you know if it's possible to resolder the battery cable to have a laptop again?
Thanks for the video. I have a broken screen on model A1989 13.3" 2019. Is this the same screen as the A1989 31.3" 2018 screen. I want to order it online but am not sure if what am buying is compatible. May you please help and give me some more clarity??? Thanks
Any advice on replacing the oled in the touchbar? Ifixit says to break it apart but I’m sure you’ve got a better way.
No chance you would do the 16” MacBook Pro please? I need to reapply my CPU and GPU paste. Please. Thank you!
Does that one only have two fans because of the specs it has or do they come with two no matter what specs u have in it
What’s the minimum that needs to be unmounted to repaste cpu?
why are the fans in my laptop black but in this video adn the replacement ones i got are shiny on top
Anyway you can show a detail video on how to replace the battery?
We won't be making a video on battery replacement. The process is very difficult and a novice risks causing a battery puncture and fire.
can I replace logic board from MR9Q2 to logicboard with higher SSD capacity?
Richard Win Putra Yes, as long at it is the same year and model board, you can replace it.
If I want to replace a retina display on a 13" 2017 model is this the same? What tools would I need?
How would I take out the hard drive?
Replace the top case on this Mac needs T2 chip reprograming?
As of right now no. However Apple could potentially " flip the switch" at any time via an update that would make user installed parts require mating to the T2 chip.
can i replace or upgrade ssd from 256-512 in A1989 model MR9U2ZP/A ?
No, you can not. It is all soldered on the board.
Is it possible to replace the screen for this model? I hear they have some sort of T2 security chip that does not allow it.
You can replace the screen. As of now the T2 chip has not blocked replacement parts.
Does the 13" Macbook Pro have two fans? I wanted to see how much trouble it is to reapply the thermal paste, but I see the screws are underneath the CPU cooler and the board has to come out completely... I am not happy with that Apple....
Yes, it does have two fans.
Is it possible to replace just the touch bar on this model or it is attached to the top case?
If you hate yourself it's possible. Just did it, required chiseling it out since in their infinite wisdom Apple glued it in. You could use wire if you're lucky and it doesn't break like mine did.
hi i own a 2013 model air 13 and i want to ask if i will be able to replace the motherboard with the processor of someone with a new model such as 2018-2019
Dont think so
Lookin like a damn super car engine... 😱
Can I replace the flex cable at 01:27? If so do you know what it is called? Many thanks in advance.
Collie House Yes, you can replace it. It is called the BMU flex cable. We sell it on our website if you need one. Here is the link, www.powerbookmedic.com/MacBook-Pro-15-w--Touch-Bar-BMU-Flex-Cable-Mid-2018-p-183993.html
Thanks. Mine is now removed and will only power on now when plugged into the charger. Is that normal? The battery seems dead with the wire disconnected.
Collie House Yes, that can happen with that cable being disconnected.
Hi, is it possible to replace the batteries in this model?
It's possible but not easily done. Most people will just replace the entire top case with battery if they need to change the battery.
in order to remove battery, is there a nee to remove board?
Den Dem The battery is included in the top case. Yes, you will need to remove the board to get to it.
@@PowerbookMedic Thank you for reply, need to replace swollen battery, can't find anywhere how it is done
Can the SSD data be rescued if the motherboard has died? The repairs shop I've taken it to has said no.
It can be rescued if the logic board can be repaired. You can find more info on our logic board repair service at this link: www.powerbookmedic.com/xcart1/pages.php?pageid=67
WOW! i wanted to clean my fans but watching this video of teardown make me in tears why so much complication APPLE @******
Your volume is damn too low
Useless! You only took it HALFWAY apart! Where's the part to take apart the LCD screen and camera???
You don't take the display apart on this model as it is fused together. You will have to replace the entire display assembly if you have a problem with it.
@@PowerbookMedic UGH Well that sucks! I took away the "dislike". Why do they make it like that? That's a bit expensive if just the camera doesn't work. I'm working my friends Macbook and I'm sure she doesn't' want to buy a whole screen just to fix a camera issue. Thanks for the reply.
