I really enjoyed your breakdown of the time chamber training. You did a much better job developing the characters in that point than the show did for me.
I base my entire training regiment on this part of the series. It’s all true. I’ve made great progress following the mentality Goku lays down during the training. Especially how he trained after leaving the chamber. Train rest train again. No need to over do it. Sometimes the hardest thing to do when you love to train is not to train, since that too can help with your training. It’s counterintuitive
7:32 it's more like: there are times when a "grinding" form of training is in order and other times when it takes a more philosophical, meditative approach... goku always had a great sense for this whereas Vegeta erred too much on the grinding side.
Yes during his travel to namek, he didn't have much time to do anything but work out as much as possible and spam the use of senzu beans. But one year in a time chamber. He has more time to focus more on spiritual and mental training
Never thought of Goku’s preparation for opponents as training camps until now. That’s exactly what they are, and that makes Dragon Ball even cooler to me.
What makes the Cell Saga training so interesting for me… is that it was basically a modernized take on classic Turtle School training, not in terms of method (after all, Goku didn’t take Gohan to a farm or anything like that) but in terms of mentality. Goku trained their bodies through spars and ki control exercises, their minds through the inherent study of the Super Saiyan form and the potential evolutions of it (resulting in Gohan eventually breaking through and becoming a Super Saiyan 2 against Cell, and of course Goku’s own break through in the Buu Saga with Super Saiyan 3), and as you pointed out, utilizing rest and recovery to stay within peak condition. Goku took all of the aspects of Roshi’s first training camp for him in the original DB, and applied it in a more raw Saiyan way. Vegeta in the other hand, being raised as a warrior and not a martial artist, likely did not see the value of rest and recovery, nor the value of having a partner to push him forward. Goku, meanwhile, likely remembered how Krillin being there pushed him further in his motivation and so motivated Gohan, who in term motivated him. While Goku did not become the star player against Cell, his Roshi like mentality through training pushed Gohan to become just what the world needed, while Trunks and Vegeta’s training might have actually done Trunks a disservice, since Trunks did not realize in his fight against Cell that Super Vegeta and Super Trunks (aka the Super Saiyan grade transformations) slowed them down too much to enhance their strength.
He didn't just power himself up massively... he got Gohan across the SSJ barrier and prepared him for winning the fight against Cell... thats a double victory.
All im gonna say is that if piccolo and krillin trained in the hyperbolic time chamber and as well as tein and yamncha too. Everyone would have been better off but there always has to be a massive threat for characters in the series to get better and if the characters were all stronger then that would just mean that the threat levels wouldn't be as high. Sensible even says in the vide baisically that when there are high stakes characters grow even more than they would normally because of the sense of a higher danger drives them. Fantastic video sensible : )
Been watching your fighting DBZ videos & really enjoy your content. Also really appreciate you ending every video with a Bible verse. God bless you & your success.
completely agree with hyperbolic time chamber camp being goku's best. namek spaceship camp was second best with senzu bean complementing saiyanjin genetic ability to became more powerful than before after near death experience need to add goku's one and only 2 months training camp with krillin wearing weigthed turtle shell just because it is so iconic and being the base of all his training honorable mention : kami's lookout 3 years training camp preparing for piccolo jr strengthening mind & body connection gosh i sound like martial arts enthusiast who watch too much dragon ball anw. enjoyed ur video so much.
I only included the dbz training camps for this vid. But I made a video about Goku’s DB training with Krillin. I think it was longer actually, like 8 months. Glad you liked the vid
Vegeta to me always seemed to have a train harder not smarter mindset in the cell saga even after going back in, now I could be wrong, it seemed like he still could use grade 4
Agreed, Vegeta always had the mindset of "Kakarot trained at 100G then I'll train at 200G" but never realized that Goku chose 100 not becuase he couldn't do 200 but because he had realized 100 would yield the best results in general, it is not just a competition of reaching the highest number you can handle
@@VGInterviews I do agree although Goku didn't do 200 g cuz the pod didn't have the option, logically Goku can do 200 g with kaioken same namek strategy

7:35 the reason they plateau'ed here was because the Cell Games Saga was supposed to be the end of the series with Gohan taking over, as per Toriyama's plans
Great video, loved it, thank your... probable agree that Goku's best training camp was the hyperbolic time chamber in terms of Goku's maturity as fighter, yet I don't think Goku gained anywhere near as huge a power level boost during the Hyperbolic time chamber compared to when he trained with King Kai or during his 100g to Namek training, yet it did show him growing as more matured and wiser fighter. 7:30 "Plateau", yes thank you, nice... I believe your completely right about the plateau effect taking effect here from as far back as the three years training for Androids, it the only way when Beerus said Goku in his base form wasn't stronger than Frieza after what 15+ plus years make sense because Beerus is a quite preceptive and in the know god.
I think a close second would be Goku's training in the Otherworld. He was surrounded by other deceased fighters from across the universe, and some of them were even stronger than he was at the time. I think a great example was Pikkon, who really brought out Goku's competitive nature, and his love of fighting. And, as we all know, Goku loves fighting with opponents stronger than he is in order to improve as a fighter, and get stronger. There's also the many different training methods and equipment he had at his disposal in the Otherworld as well. For example, Goku could simulate gravity training with weighted gear, like when he was shadow boxing with those massive weights strapped to his arms and legs. If you really think about it, the Otherworld is literally the best gym Goku could've asked for at that time. Next, there were also tournaments to compete in, so you can bet Goku would've been preparing to compete in those tournaments as well. It maybe wasn't as effective as using the hyperbolic time chamber, but Goku had nothing but time in the Otherworld to train his body, achieve new and more powerful forms of Super Saiyan, compete in tournaments, and spar with some of the most powerful fighters in the Universe.
@@atshabal I think you could be right about that. After Goku was revived in the Buu Saga, I think I remember hearing from some other sources that Goku's living body couldn't maintain the power of SSJ 3 as effectively, and that's why he had trouble trying to maintain the form during the final fight with Kid Buu. However, I don't remember where I heard this, so I don't know if it is actually official.
Sadly the Otherworld Tournament isn't completely canon. I say completely because South Kai _does_ appear in the manga and the Grand Kai is mentioned. (That said the villains in Hell part is definitely not canon)
The IntzTrans result training has got to be the peak - it cemented the capacity for infinite future gains. But 100% the concept of the Time Chamber is max camp, and the arc made what good training is super clear.
8:15 symboliezed by his gi having no kanji on it, like him being under roshi, kaio sama, and being beyond his own symbol in namek, literally is peak goku lol
Hearing you talk about how they dropped back down to Super Saiyan 1 to perfect it and then start working towards the true ascended super saiyan, Super Saiyan 2, reminded me of just how much I loved how the Transformations were treated in Dragon Ball Z
I think theirs another suitable reason why Goku cuts it short I think he was trying to show Gohan what he'll be fighting for, the peaceful world they enjoyed with friends and family, hoping this would be the final motivator to release Gohan hidden potential against cell
video makes me think of the way the series could hve gone. Goku would have been a great master to his students, following the way Roshi taught him. On another note, the diferent ways goku and vegita trained in the Chamber kind of mirror the turtle school vs crane school of he original DB, one more balanced and the other more literal, more ruthless and direct. Important in a series that as inpired many to learn to stay fit and to learn how to fight.
bro i feel like the best part about goku's "finger" move is that it meant nothing to him. It was just a side effect of him learning how to control his ki down to a fine point, just goes to show how underrated and op goku is
Bro! Love your video man glad I’m here for the first one! Would love to join in on a discussion one day! And you’re a believer! Love that touch at the end and it’s what we’ve been focused on at my church! Not a coincidence!
I appreciate the great content and the Bible verses at the end keep em coming. Keep us strong physically mentally and spiritually through the Lords Word
Piccolo stealing Goku's drip in the driving episode is crazy when you remember that Piccolo has clothing powers 😂 Like he must have really thought that fit was IT.
I like how it reflects real life. There are going to be periods when you won't really learn anything new and you become comfortable until something make you realize you have to take a new path so you can face your next challenge. It's pretty similar to Rocky. He had to change his ways to have a chance against Drago, Lang and Creed. He hadn't taken boxing seriously enough for years to be able win against Apollo at first. Plus he become comfortable after he won against him so Lang could whoop him.
If I had to pick what Z fighter to train me I would pick who Goku. He's humble and knows how to get the best out of it. The last one I would ask to train me is yamcha. I don't even think he puts forth much effort in himself, much less other people. But I think pretty-boys rarely know what it takes to put in the effort...
Love your videos man. Hey can we pleeeeaaase get Goku vs Majin Vegeta. That was always one that I thought was too close to call outside of the sneak KO. Yes I know SS3 would have ended it but still.
roshi taught goku how to train someone else, and that shows significantly with gohan. Move well, study well, play well, eat well, rest well. Roshi was the master of how to healthily get stronger.
Can't master something yourself unless you can teach it someone else. Goku finally took the time to focus on training Gohan and in the process learned the things he couldn't have learned on his own or even with his prior training with Piccolo.
Another reason why the chamber was incredibly affective, or showed that it was affective, was Goku got to experiment with the SSJ transformation. We see him use SSJ Grade 3, and immediately recognize why it wasn't viable. During that same period, Goku executed the idea to minimize the demands of SSJ, resulting in the perfected or mastered SSJ. I personally think he had been stewing on those ideas for awhile, he just wasn't able to really work towards it because of other circumstances, likely because he just wasn't able to push himself as hard outside of the chamber. The majority of their training pre androids seemed to be in the area near where the Son family lived, and I doubt ChiChi would stand for Goku being so destructive so close to their home, or, chance going far away and blowing up someone else's house, and Goku just doesn't seem to be the guy to go and destroy nature for shiggles. But in the chamber? There is literally only one thing to destroy in that place, and it is the building they walk out of and sleep in. And it honestly seemed pretty damn durable.
I think the android saga training wasn't a good point, because there was nothing he could do about the heart attack. Getting stronger wasn't going to stop it no matter how strong he got and holding it against him as a weakness and him not training well enough doesn't make sense. Considering how he was holding up prior to the heart attack his training was at least decent
Just imagine if Goku and Gohan didn't leave until they both reached ss2. I think Gohan could've been able to actively ascend without tragedy. He used his experiences from the saiyan and frieza arc, plus a life of death situation to go super saiyan. He pretty much could've used the same thing to reach ss2. The hyperbolic time chamber and the 7 years in otherworld were Goku's best training camps.
I don't think that would have been possible since it would've been a little hard to reuse the same past trauma to achieve a form even greater than the one you achieved using the same trauma. It's kind of like if someone did you wrong in the past and you got your get back after getting extremely angry and then in the future you think back on it and despite already getting your get back, you get even angrier than you were at the time it happened. The difference between Gohan on planet namek and in the chamber was that he was significantly stronger then which allowed him to be able to achieve super saiyan. They definitely could've been slightly stronger but it would have been useless since they were nearing a cap. (at the time at least)
@@matthiasceus Anger, rage, grief or whatever brings out the power. If a warriors mind is honed enough, they can bring out the power without emotion. Gohan first achieved the next level through intense training. It might’ve been brief, but he definitely had it in his back pocket. He was just exhausted. The only reason he didn’t have it on cue was because Goku didn’t tell him about it. He said that he wanted Gohan to be stronger than him. Gohan did become stronger, but he didn’t believe he did until his father told him after his fight with Cell. Later Vegeta, Goku, Gotenks and even future Trunks would achieve the form through training.
I've been weight training for almost 2 years now and I go to failure. I pick right back up after I catch my breath. I do multiple different muscles during and I always go to failure safely. Gotta say goku training for namek is a huge inspiration and is always in my mind during my sessions. I'm not super saiyan yet but I'm approaching kaioken.
i like training goku to namek i dont know something exicinting in this space ship 100 gravity and go to unknown and mysterious frieza... this is hard to describe but epic in some way but i really like his training at kaio planet his first death new other world its really amaxing😅😅 i cant choose one from this two😅😅
Personally I’d choose the roshi training in db with krillin, we saw him learn so much, and do so much, from swimming, to racing, to reading and studying and learning. But if this is like strictly just Goku training camps then yea this is right there at the top, showcased everything he’s learned from his masters and he’s utilizing it while also teaching it to Gohan. This is also my theory as to why future Gohan wasnt as strong as even post-namek goku, because he never got fully trained by Goku thus never learning the turtle school, or king kai or kamis training regiment.
I'd say the Time Chamber training was the ultimate best for Gohan, as it led him to being one of the key factors to defeating Cell. Whereas for Goku, his trip to Namek remains one of the most goated moment in DBZ. Why so ? Because we get a glimpse after Raditz, Nappa and Vegeta of real extra terrestrial threat, and having Goku arriving at Namek and making Captain Ginyu look like a complete moron was such a massive step up to the point he was before fighting Vegeta on earth.
The time chamber had to be the number one, not only because in that dimension, the training of one year is done in one day in our reality, but also something im not sure it was explore: bringing training gear, specially with the help of capsules. With capsules, Goku could bring with him gym equipment, some supplies like senzu beans, or even better, bring something he could use in that infinito space like a space ship similar to the one he used to travel to Namek, with the gravity training room.
In my headcanon I think Goku realised that even after 3 years training still wasn't enough to catch the androids, he needed to train smarter, not harder. Personally though, I'd say the 7 years was immense. I mean he went from ssj1 to ssj3 where he can literally stop buu by himself if he wanted. It doesn't seem like much because we think "he probs got ssj2 quick" but remember, Vegeta also had 7 years and he only got ssj2.
8:16 the reason goku gave cell the senzu bean, is because he didnt want him to feel cornered. He felt like if cell felt like he was about to lose with no way out, he would blow up the planet without giving it a second thought. He did it to make sure he felt like it was still an even playing field. Smart move in my opinon
I agree with your choice, but would argue that the 3 years of training with Piccolo and Gohan were sort of related. The key to that training isn't Goku, like the time chamber, but Piccolo and Gohan, who likely received major powerups. It was also Goku's first time seeing Gohan's potential first hand as a sparring partner. They effectively had to get on Goku's level, to some extent. Also consider to unlock Super Saiyan, your base power has to be pretty high, as we see with Goku and is implied with Goten and Trunks. Sure, Piccolo and Gohan had some of their own power boosts on Namek, but nothing like Goku. Thus, I suspect in their three year training, Goku helped close the gap.

2:23 he learned how to drive
Fully agree. trained with a specific goal and he succeeded. Efficient training is the best.
He didn't just power himself up massively... he got Gohan across the SSJ barrier and prepared him for winning the fight against Cell... thats a double victory.
I would love to see a fullepisode of Goku and Gohan training at the Time Chamber.
God bless you & your success.
completely agree with hyperbolic time chamber camp being goku's best.
namek spaceship camp was second best with senzu bean complementing saiyanjin genetic ability to became more powerful than before after near death experience
need to add goku's one and only 2 months training camp with krillin wearing weigthed turtle shell just because it is so iconic and being the base of all his training
honorable mention : kami's lookout 3 years training camp preparing for piccolo jr strengthening mind & body connection
gosh i sound like martial arts enthusiast who watch too much dragon ball
anw. enjoyed ur video so much.
I only included the dbz training camps for this vid. But I made a video about Goku’s DB training with Krillin. I think it was longer actually, like 8 months. Glad you liked the vid
my bad. the manga said it was 7 months.
i literally just finished watching that said video
great channel bro
Love this bro
Thanks man I appreciate it!
@@VGInterviewsVegeta asked bulmas dad to make a spaceship with more gravity to train in. The capsule ship Goku went in capped at 100x gravity.
@@whydoyoukeeptalking and?
@@VGInterviews so it has nothing to do with "best results" it's just as high as he could train atm
Love the video, love your commentary, love how you break down and break down different ideas I hadn’t thought about. Keep up the great work.
How do u have only 462 subs with this kind of quality content ur vids are so good and entairtaining bro, youtubers with millions of subs dont make vids this good
Thanks man! What a compliment
Incredible his surge in subs being well over 6k
@jasonhearn5818 I hope bro keeps growing , this entairtainment I get from these videos are unreleal
Nice explanation this training arc had a little bit of everything
7:35 the reason they plateau'ed here was because the Cell Games Saga was supposed to be the end of the series with Gohan taking over, as per Toriyama's plans
@2:40 I never noticed but in this still King Kai in the back looking sad while Goku is happy is just hilarious lol
Keep it up, great blast from the past.
And he could pushed himself to the maximum since he couldn't die.
I'm in love with your content and I need more
I love these training camp vids you’ve done, hopefully you can bring them back for other anime as well
Bro i just watched all your vids and you for sure get a sub. Like i havent enjoyed a youtube channel this much in literal years
I’m loving these videos but what really sold me was the scripture at the end! Amazing work!
The IntzTrans result training has got to be the peak - it cemented the capacity for infinite future gains. But 100% the concept of the Time Chamber is max camp, and the arc made what good training is super clear.
4:35 Piccolo's Drip is so Iconic, people tend to forget that those belong to Goku.
Bro just came across this chanel and it’s amazing. Please keep making videos!! :)
Will do bro 💪🏻
8:15 symboliezed by his gi having no kanji on it, like him being under roshi, kaio sama, and being beyond his own symbol in namek, literally is peak goku lol
That was you 1st video 😳!!!!?
Wow, great job!
Awesome videos dude I wish I had a friend who we could analyze their workout routines with a martial artist perspective 🤣💪👊
These are so good, and motivation for my training 😂
Hearing you talk about how they dropped back down to Super Saiyan 1 to perfect it and then start working towards the true ascended super saiyan, Super Saiyan 2, reminded me of just how much I loved how the Transformations were treated in Dragon Ball Z
Great video man. Can’t believe this was your first try.
I appreciate it man
I'll argue his training with Gohan was most IMPORTANT, he caught a glimpse of SSJ2
I think theirs another suitable reason why Goku cuts it short I think he was trying to show Gohan what he'll be fighting for, the peaceful world they enjoyed with friends and family, hoping this would be the final motivator to release Gohan hidden potential against cell
Hey like pray at the end thx u 4 video 🙏🏾
Everyone them is best
video makes me think of the way the series could hve gone.
Your videos are dope ! Do one on goku’s gi
bro i feel like the best part about goku's "finger" move is that it meant nothing to him.
Hyperbolic Time Chamber is my favorite. It’s an insane pocket dimension.
Plus he become comfortable after he won against him so Lang could whoop him.
diminishing returns
Thanks for that verse at the end
If I had to pick what Z fighter to train me I would pick who Goku. He's humble and knows how to get the best out of it. The last one I would ask to train me is yamcha. I don't even think he puts forth much effort in himself, much less other people. But I think pretty-boys rarely know what it takes to put in the effort...
Goku also stated those years in the hyperbolic time chamber were the best of his life when he was gonna instant transmission cell away from earth
Great first video
Great video
Neat video!
I wonder, do you plan to analyze the training camps he went through in Dragonball?
I do. I’m definitely at least gonna do one on his first training with Master Roshi and Krillin.
Goku before training: 220 million Power
After training: 4 billion power
🔥
Love your videos man. Hey can we pleeeeaaase get Goku vs Majin Vegeta. That was always one that I thought was too close to call outside of the sneak KO. Yes I know SS3 would have ended it but still.
roshi taught goku how to train someone else, and that shows significantly with gohan. Move well, study well, play well, eat well, rest well. Roshi was the master of how to healthily get stronger.
07:00 august back to the kame house teachings
Can't master something yourself unless you can teach it someone else. Goku finally took the time to focus on training Gohan and in the process learned the things he couldn't have learned on his own or even with his prior training with Piccolo.
Gotta sub for the fellow Christian 🙌🏼🙆🏻♀️🗣️🗣️
That bubble bath scene is my favorite lol
I've been weight training for almost 2 years now and I go to failure. I pick right back up after I catch my breath. I do multiple different muscles during and I always go to failure safely. Gotta say goku training for namek is a huge inspiration and is always in my mind during my sessions. I'm not super saiyan yet but I'm approaching kaioken.
Agreed with the choice
Just wanna say. Came for the DBZ breakdowns, subscribed for the scripture.
i like training goku to namek i dont know something exicinting in this space ship 100 gravity and go to unknown and mysterious frieza... this is hard to describe but epic in some way but i really like his training at kaio planet his first death new other world its really amaxing😅😅 i cant choose one from this two😅😅
Personally I’d choose the roshi training in db with krillin, we saw him learn so much, and do so much, from swimming, to racing, to reading and studying and learning.
"That's what makes it hypersonic, gohan!"
That was fire!
His finger thing with Trunks is a showcase of his ki training on planet Yardrat!
Goku didn’t have a heart attack he drank McDonald’s sprite 2:29
Lmao
I agree. This is exactly why people are mad that they made Goku an idiot in dbs..
They did him dirty. Character regression
Going from 8000 to 90000 to 3mil in just a few months is insane
Understandable. Namek is still my favorite. Senzu bean hack is crazy
8:16 the reason goku gave cell the senzu bean, is because he didnt want him to feel cornered. He felt like if cell felt like he was about to lose with no way out, he would blow up the planet without giving it a second thought. He did it to make sure he felt like it was still an even playing field. Smart move in my opinon
oh shut up -_-
I agree with your choice, but would argue that the 3 years of training with Piccolo and Gohan were sort of related.
