I'm of the opinion that it's the culmination of the album's themes... and as such, a beautiful introduction for a new listener of this legend. Like if someone likes this and listens to the whole album, they're in for a real treat.
OPN's music is post tragic. post dystopia. this video is a visual metaphor for his whole opus. and it's been my anthem for the past 10 years. I've shared the vision, I'm strapped into the test car. And I know that once we smash through that wall there's something better for us on the other side. Salutes to other brothers and sisters on this ride.
OPN's music jacks itself directly into my nervous system. It's crushingly rich with emotion. Every song takes me along on such a distinct emotional narrative. One of the greatest artists alive.
I LOVE OPN!!!! His music always creates a true soundtrack to my life. His music is just pure expression, not formula, all heart. Excited for the 29th!!

I can't get enough of this song, it is just so incredibly beautiful. It makes me tear up almost every time. I love listening to it when I leave work, in the city centre of Glasgow, Scotland. It's already dark outside and with all the lights at this time of the year, it feels like a magical walk to the station. One of the most beautiful songs I have ever heard.
dopamine 3 years ago. February 4, 2019, at 0:30 [translated to English] Highway 1, morning. Flight over the left lane. The sun illuminates the nicotine cloud that fills the cabin, trying to warmly caress my body through the glass, from a world that is foreign to me. Always has been. I keep my right foot on the pedal. This foot is not mine. I hold the steering wheel in my left hand. This hand is not mine. A ball of abysmal pain, its' arms spreading out in all directions, touching my eyes, and they tear up. Those eyes are not mine. Loves that could have been. Expired dreams. Desires. I feel my breaths shortening, my heartbeat intensifying. They are not mine. The foot applies pressure on the pedal, the eyes look at the dashboard. 150, 170, 180... Vehicles to the right smudge and disappear backwards one by one. The separation concrete wall to the left meanders in waves. The car sensor beeps. Is there anything on the horizon? These ears are not mine. We are falling. Bumping into things on the way down and into each other, and pretending that this is free will, that we belong. That this is not a fall. The hand tightens on the steering wheel. The eyes close. The breathing stops. The ears are deafened by the heartbeat and noise of the engine, amplifying into infinity. This body is not mine.
That song is so amazing, it’s like having a near-death experience. When the tracklist of the album ‘Again’ is played in reverse, it feels like a story of coming back to life from death. To me, this felt like an album symbolizing ‘resurrection’.
Just got back from a walk through the forest in the rain, listening to his past albums to come back home to this. Absolutely stunning work - such a rich and lush soundscape, swirling, jutting and intertwining. I have always and will always love the worlds you create.
Ostridge Pond Never does it again. Thank you for curing my polio and fixing me a sandwich Ostridge. To me you aren't a flightless bird and ruthless killing machine, your spirit soars above the clouds. Your eggs are so big and your sounds so deep. Together they make a sonic omelet worth waking up for.
This is a pretty decent edit of the 6:16 version of the song. I feel like too much is missing and the longer version is the best version. Probably in my top five favorite oneohtrix songs. So excited to hear the new album this fall. Thank you for making and posting.
I once had an acid trip with the homies. On the way back from the rocky lake, we made a rash decision to drive back home as the sun was setting. It didn't occur to me the danger of the situation until we were already rolling down the two-way lane. I kept telling the homie, "Don't Crash!!" as we drove along the road. A semi approached going the opposite direction as we were going along a curved part of the road. It occured to me in that moment that we were going to crash into it. We were all tripping. I realized there was nothing I can do to stop the approach. As the semi reached the point of intersection, I was bracing and yelling, then everything exploded into psychedelic swirls. That was all there is. I'm still not sure if I actually physically died with the homies that day, but something tells me that that was a taste of what oblivion is. It wasn't bad really. Anyways, this track is quite lovely. Can't wait for the album.
opns music always brings me a sense of peace, even the most tumultuous and gnarly tracks. this one is so beautiful and orchestral, it would be hard not to feel peaceful listening to it. so excited for the 29th!
Maybe not a tragedy per se, but there's a very difficult situation that I'm dealing with right now and it devastated me emotionally. This track along with the music video feels extremely on point.
