The original V was sold to Amos Arthur's Music Store here in Indianapolis in 1958. Number 8-2357 and one of 81 sold in to dealers in 1958. There is a picture of Amos standing on top of the store pointing it up into the air- space travel was very popular then. Amos sold it in 59 to some guy but no record kept. There is a picture of Joe on top of the same building pointing into the sky just like Amos. The store is still here in the Arthur family. Arthur's was the place visiting musicians came to to jam and shop. If you are in Indy- look it up. I bought a new Tele there in 72 w/case for $400- wish I had it back. Used to hang out there a lot late 60s and early 70s.
I really liked the days where these companies just made great instruments and just let them become legendary based on their own merits. It's like now, every famous guitar is being reproduced for corporate profit. Buy a good guitar and age it yourself by PLAYING it.
I know everyone has their own opinion aging etc all I can say to each their own and everyone is on their own journey. What I will say is I've had many Joe bonamassa signature guitars and I've had many guitars in general. One of the best guitars and one of my biggest regrets that I got rid of was the Joe bonamassa Les Paul gold top. That guitar ticked off every box and was unbelievable for tone and feel at the time I had to let it go for financial reasons. But damn do I miss that guitar. There are only two regrets as far as letting go of guitars I have that is one and the other is an ebony Les Paul custom Black beauty that I had tweakes to near perfection for my needs. I'm still looking to get it back LOL. Keep shredding rocking and try not to roll too much
Surprisingly, a whole lot of people. I live in Seattle. There are nearly 60,000 millionaires just in this city. There are a lot of cities like that in the U.S.
I wonder if Joe makes more money in his ventures of buying and selling guitars, amplifiers, knick knacks, than playing gigs. It looks like more than a side occupation now. Even if I could afford it, I usually play the guitars I purchase. I don't see myself bringing a 20k guitar at my $200 +tips per shows.
For everyone hating on the price… this guitar isn’t for you. There’s a limited amount for people who can afford them, you are not obligated to buy it. There are more affordable guitars out there, quit your whining.
I completely agree, my problem is why they are not doing a Korina 58 style for the regular line. Its more costly then doing a regular 67 version really
Take my money. Wait....$20K? Let me take out a second mortgage on my house and sell a kidney to the Prince of Nigeria and the MAYBE I'll be able to finance it. What a world.
20,000 dollars?! While the industry is going through some really rough time right now (Q3/4 2024). But ok, all the JPs sold out… though many are now for sale for 80k. I hate that a brand knows this, that their products are becoming more and more like speculative crypto bs. You’re losing your soul guys, in the meantime official retailers are suffering.
But why? To be or sound like Joe? The story? Come on y'all. It's going to look good in a Doctors office while you wait to get the news on your hemorrhoids or your dentist office waiting for your broken tooth to be fixed. Call me a hater, but this isn't for a player, its for Steven Seagal and his ilk.
Not hating on murphy lab and gibson, but you gotta really want one to pay that much, they play no different then a production model, buy a production model and make your own story. I myself prefer cheaper guitars, ive had very expensive guitars and found there value in the mind of the beholder. I found this by buying first silver sky se, and then core silver sky, i love them both, but with my handwound pickups in the se, it plays better with lower action and sounds just as good. I love my black faded tee silver sky, just pull it out when inspiration is nil.
IS IT A GUITAR TO PLAY WITH OR A MUSEUM FOR THE GUITAR TO BE IN A CASE ON THE WALL??? I DON'T LIKE THAT AT ALL! WHEN I BUY A GUITAR? IR'S TO PLAY WITH!!! I'M RATHER HAVING MY OWN SCRATCH ON A NEW GUITAR! (DONE BY ACCIDENT!) + IT'S CHEAPER! LOL
Don't know the history of the original V? He bought the original 58 V- one of 81 sold to dealers in 58/59. It was sold to Amos Arthur at Arthur's Music here in Indianapolis He had the original replicated and gave the original back to the Arthur family. Arthur's has been in the same family & building since 1952.
@@J.C...you hit the nail on the head. These guys who can’t play and can never buy something like that are so jealous of Joe. He’s an incredible musician and person. He treasures these old guitars because he understands their importance to the history of music. He thinks, just like he said, the story has nothing to do with him and he’s just fortunate enough to be the custodian of them. This guy bucked the music industry and beat them. He’s successful because of his hard work and dedication to his craft. His shows are phenomenal and he’s always a humble guy. Let the haters hate.

I wish Joe would surgically turn me into a guitar
Wow. Lots of haters making comments. Why so much negativity? Joe is a class act and incredibly informative.

Finally a demo where the guy can actually play :)
Indeed. Minimum yaking, maximum playing.... lol....
The first riff he played had that Albert King vibe......
Truth.
Great guitar, great story. And the belt is so cool! Peace
Have the Epi version. Would love this as well...
what a guitar! wow 🤘😎
I do love Joe B!

Way otta my league ! Big $$
Buy something used that you like and customize it yourself. Don’t be a Joe, be you.
Actually, don't be a you.
Be whatever you want just don’t be this guy👍
Why not both??
My name is Joe and I can't not be me, but you do you! 😂
Didn't hear him say he replicated the original V from Amos Arthur and gave the original back to the Arthur family?
Nice guitar and story... But I'm not going to be able to buy 1 lol...
I still have buyers guilt for buying a 2 thousand dollar bass...
I’m still wait it for the “Custodian Burst” with a premium story behind it.
Who has a spare $20k for a guitar? I just don’t get it…..
Surprisingly, a whole lot of people. I live in Seattle. There are nearly 60,000 millionaires just in this city. There are a lot of cities like that in the U.S.
It’s called collectors edition for a reason? Buy an epiphone
If I only,,,,,,,.......I would buy this guitar,.....better than money in a bank,..it WILL gain more than interest,10,,20 years from now😮
They're marketed to blues lawyers who plug them into their handwired reissue Marshalls for some serious boomer bends.
Yeah they're the upper middle class.. $20k is spare change they don't mind spending such amount
Every time he talks about this guitar and mentions Pete Mitchell I think Maverick. 😂
“they check like this↗️ not this ↘️”
the camera zoom in:↘️
should we expect any new finishes on Explorers anytime soon? would make killer Q4 numbers!

Not a Joe expert but- he never sells much of anything. Check out his Fender tweed collection

Classic gibson appealing the blues lawyers and doctors.
Freemason bricks in the background....
Take my money.

This is why PRS is king.

Gibson = The Man
,,,,,,,...2024 =REMEMBER KIDS,,,,TODAYS DEALS --- ARE TOMORROW'S BARGAIN......😮❤❤❤❤
The sound isn't there for me. Not the tone I expect from a V. My Rocket Roll from 75 sounds closer
$20k, really Joe.
And the rich get richer. Yawn!!!

@dougdavis8986 nobody wants to sound like him, stop D riding.

🏆👌
Where the hell is an in n out hamburger $20? That’s a bold face lie… this guy is out of touch with the commoners 😂😂😂😂
Gibson once again screwing there costomers
In and Out is not that good.
Yeah he's getting annoying now
New way of layering money, buy guitars from Gibson.

I’m the opposite of you
Stop it's and ageing job....
Gibson just keeps alienating players to sell to poser collectors...

Joe doesn't care about the average player. Only rich people like him
He has 800 dollar epiphones.
I’m not rich and I love Joe.

Yeah, that's why he collaborated with Gibson to put out Epiphone models of his favorite Gibson classic guitars.
Shitson Guitars and Joe Shitamassa, what a team!

Good one Beavis. I remember when I was 10 years old.
@@J.C... yeah, jealous
Joe realized that he wasn’t that great at playing guitar after all, so now he’s in the sales department 😂
