  • The beautiful boy of French cinema whose steely, ice-blue gaze betrayed more than a hint of danger, Alain Delon was a favorite of modernists like Luchino Visconti, Jean-Pierre Melville, and Michelangelo Antonioni, all of whom were seduced by his impossible good looks and air of cool detachment. This selection of many of Delon’s finest moments spotlights his star-making performance as the gorgeous, duplicitous Tom Ripley in René Clément’s Patricia Highsmith adaptation PURPLE NOON; his career-defining turn as a zen contract killer in Melville’s LE SAMOURAÏ; his sizzling chemistry with a leather-clad Marianne Faithfull in Jack Cardiff’s X-rated counterculture head-trip THE GIRL ON A MOTORCYCLE; his subtle portrayal of an amoral art dealer mixed up in a case of mistaken identity in Joseph Losey’s unsung classic MR. KLEIN; and more.

      In plein soleil there is the scene when ripley just killed his second victim and then looks down from his apartment window to calm himself
      and to detect any danger.
      Rene clement said that you should not explain your work.
      A likewise impressive scene i only saw in melville's army of shadows when a man awaiting his execution goes backward too.

    I can relate to that sentiment. As a child, watching Alain Delon in Zorro was a truly magical experience. His portrayal of the swashbuckling hero left a lasting impression on me, and I too found myself wanting to grow up quickly and be just like him.
    Alain Delon's charisma, skill, and magnetism on screen made him a true role model for many, myself included. He embodied the qualities of a true hero, and his performances inspired countless individuals to dream big and reach for the stars.
    Thank you, Alain Delon, for being a beacon of light in the world of cinema. Your legacy will continue to inspire generations to come, and your spirit will live on through the timeless characters you brought to life on screen. Rest in peace, dear hero. You will always be remembered and cherished.

      It's not mina's l'eclisse twist, it is Giovanni Fusco's score for Antonioni's L'eclisse. Mina's twist has attached mood-killing vocals to it.

    These looks fall under pretty feminine sharp features even Clint east wood has it, mostly from their mothers side, because typical masculine features are broad heavy thicker types, some women inherit them from fathers too. i have. big round nose broad face.

    • @duetforherbivores
      @duetforherbivores 4 роки тому +3

      JAGQ True... but this isn't necessarily about his art per se. He is an icon, a celebrity, this goes beyond the separation of art and artist. His beliefs are imposed onto the public because he is well known. He beat the shit out of his kids and wife because he knew his fame would help him get away with it and still be worshipped. He has given thousands of dollars anti-jew hate groups. He wouldn't have been able to do that if he was not made famous and rich. This is more about him wielding his fame and influence around to be an abusive racist asshole not a perpetual condemnation of his art. I agree with your sentiment to some degree but not in this case tbh.
