    Even it's an older vid.
    Your playing convinced me to get me one. I'm going to swap the Pickup to a Charlie Christian Type
    wich is done by other owners.
    Thank you for the tasteful playing and demoing the instrument.
    Best wishes from Bavaria Germany 🇩🇪

      Hello friend, what is the tuning of your instrument? As a reference from the thinnest rope to the thickest rope, from high to low it would be, thanks for giving me that information in advance

      I have mine tuned to C6.
      I don't have easy access to it right now, but just google for a set of lap steel strings in C6 so you can find the gauges. If i remember right i have John Pearse strings on it.

    The best lap steel guitar for the money out there. Pickup is a little weak but nothing that can't be fixed with a pedal or turn up the amp.

    You have some mad skills. I play a Rogue in C6. I've heard the Rogue has a slightly shorter scale. The humbucker on this Epiphone is nice though, compared to the single coil on some.

      Thanks! Cool. I need to work on more on C6!

    Thanks Troy! Great demo. You've convinced me 😅.
    Do you think it could do Open D tuning OK? I read a review that said it would need heavier gauge strings and that the nut saddles would need filing to widen them for the heavier strings.

      @shutupandpick  Рік тому

      You're welcome! Thanks for watching! I think it'll do Open D fine. Enjoy it!

    I’ve had my Eppy phone now eight months and I can tell you playing it in public. It is well accepted it as well liked , Just said they come with not good strings, I had to proper strings, nut Had to be re-seated and holes in string, and not big enough for proper strings

      I had to do that too.Plain guitar strings fit ok but c6 tuning strings especially the third string was too thick to go through the bridge hole.

    I was on the fence about which lap steel to buy.... no longer! Ordered the same Epiphone for Xmas for myself! Do you offer lessons for lap steel?

    • @shutupandpick
      @shutupandpick  Рік тому

      Great. Hope you enjoy it! I don't do lessons, but there are tons of lessons on YT and you might find a course to buy online. Best of luck with it!

    Hey! Thanks for stopping by! What kind of slide guitar stuff do you play? Rock, Country, Blues? If you like slide guitars here's a resonator guitar video. ua-cam.com/video/rp8fvo5h4Ok/v-deo.html

    Hi back! Sorry, it must have been my bad hearing. I love your playing though. I'm just starting to learn to play laptop steel guitar. I am just a beginner trying to learn, using an e7th tuning, but everybody keeps telling me I should be learning c6th tuning as a beginner. What is your advice. Should I be using e7 tuning or c6th tuning. Nobody around here that I know of plays steel guitar of any kind, so I am trying to teach myself. I would really appreciate your advice, (if you are willing to give it.) Thank you very much, and I hope someday I can play at least half as good as you do. P.S. I'm into old style country music, if that helps in what tuning, I should use. Do you have a website where I can hear more of your playing? Thanks again. Henry Partridge

      No problem. Thanks! I use "dobro" G tuning most of the time though in the case, all strings were tuned lower, I think to open E. If you want to do old country, C6 or A6 is a good place to start. I don't do much with those tunings. I love old country, and Hank Sr stuff is all 6th tunings. I'm sure there are good videos out there on that kind of stuff. I specialize in bluegrass/americana, so you can check the links in the description. Best of luck on your steel journey!

    Can you play along with someone playing in the key of G, A or E with what tuning on this??

    • @shutupandpick
      @shutupandpick  2 роки тому +1

      Sure you can play any key, just like dobro, but you won't always have open licks to use. Thanks for watching!

      @@shutupandpick Thanks....I wish there was a chord chart that shows all the major, minor and 7th chords in C6 tuning, that would make it easy to play along in any key...

    What does it really sound like without all the fancy pedals, and sound effects, and fancy amps? I mean what does it sound like, straight out of the box, plugged straight into a cheap a inexpensive amp.

    • @shutupandpick
      @shutupandpick  Рік тому +2

      Hi! If you listen when the "pickin" starts, it's just the steel with reverb through the amp. Amp is a $200 fender super champ x2, and it's a inexpensive TC hall of fame mini reverb. Wish I had some fancier pedals though! hehe! Everything I have is working man stuff, no boutique pedals. 👍Thanks for watching!

    You still wanted so badly to talk
    I think it's law slide guitarist's are required to talk 5 mins for every note played
