Floor does not only feel the emotions of a song she is these emotions while she sings
She even cries at the end.

This, in my opinion, is Tuomas' greatest composition to date, with Ghost Love Score and the Greatest Show On Earth close second and third. The part where you were laughing about Emppu and Tuomas chatting is actually Emppu going to check on him to make sure he's okay, because this is an extremely emotional and difficult song to play for him (for obvious reasons). You might have noticed Marco and Emppu gathering around Tuomas at the end as a show of support. Even Floor, even though she's stuck at the microphone, glances over at him because she knows what the song does to him.
Tuomas said in an interview that he remembers asking the sound engineers to cut off the vocals in his ear monitor during this song because of the emotions attached to it. He doesn't need to anymore, but this speaks about how heavy the song is for him. They will probably not play it live anymore.
The drummer is Kai Hahto. He replaced Jukka in 2015 after Jukka had to step down from the band due to illness. He's doing better, though, and he's still involved with the band in a management capacity.
I'm always reordering those songs depending on which one I am listening to :). This is the one with the greatest and darkest emotions. The Greatest Show On Earth is the one with beautiful compositions and such a positive message and Ghost Love Score was my first. Difficult to choose.
i'll put swanheart (an original version ) and Kuolema tekee taiteilijan in competition with these masterpieces for the top place
If temember correctly Jukka is CEO of the NW company position currently.
As said they are a family... not just random group or a marketing effort set up by record company.
So, every change on their lineup hurts them, whatever reason made..

This is a show from 2015. Floor started to add the tatoo's over the past few years. You guys looked like you felt this song. Tuomas composes music to get emotional reactions from the listener.
Why there is no reaction of Nightwish Ghost River, such a good song with Marco.
when Floor changes her style of singing it is pointless to "feel" surprised. Just laugh and "of course she can do that" :)

It’s hard for Tuomas he even has the vocals turned off on his ear piece.
Floor nearly looses it when she glance at Tuomas at the start of mother and father ,the actual words his parents said to him .

I had the same thought when I first found them too. Songs were written for other singers specifically & Floor makes them in her own style while being true to the intention of the song. Every time. She’s a Goddess! 🔥🤙
Toumas is a lyrical genius, the content of his songs are way way above any other writer of his generation. That content, especially on the last two albums are quite astounding, not your average metal fare. Evolution, planet earth, every song has structure and meaning, just look at the complexity of 'Noise' as an example. As a guy who has been around a long time (66 next birthday) I would have no hesitation in mentioning him in the same breath as Lennon and McCartney. Just think, English isn't his first language either, amazing!

Interestingly, Tuomas has said that he finds it easier to write in English than in Finnish.

De drummer of Wacken is Juka he is the original but he had health issues. So he asked his friend Kai to fill in. Juka did not come back as a drummer but he is still with the band as sort of financial manager i think.
So Kai is now the official drummer up to now.
Technically, he's the Nightwish CEO. Don't know what that entails.
According Tuomas based on one interview, "Jukka is running all the money things", so not a tiny responsibility
Best to do all the Wacken 2013 songs, then go onto Wembley 2015 and Tampere, so you see the progression.

Great reaction , it is said that Tuomas feels stil so much pain doing this song and that 's the reason they have it seldom at the setlist while on tour , did you notice it was him 'also singing with Floor at the beautifull end , and see the pain in his face !
Floor is amasing , imagine singing about a dramatic story happened to the band when she was not in it and then put al her emotion in it like this , pure magic !

im here just to make a little suggestion! hahaha, maybe you coud watch the "Beste Zangers" show, the songs that Floor performance there, between the nightwish videos, just to have something else to see and make the waiting less long! haha.

Marko and Empuu were checking in on Tuomas because I think he still gets emotional with this song. I'm glad he decided to write the song instead of the alternative. The soft part near the end was actually his Mom's words to him.
Floor can cover both Tarja and Anette plus she can growl like a lot of Female Metal singers. She has an impressive range. She and Tarja are friends and have been for a long while. BTW, part 1 was sung by an English choir boy. Floor told Tuomas that she could sing it if he wanted her to but he said they'd stick with the recording of the choir boy. Part 5 (Mother And Father) gets to me every time. Breaks me up. My oldest son, 51, just died of cancer and that's why Part 5 gets to me.
So sorry to hear you lost your son..
Hope thou that music like this gives you comfort and good memories rises.
I Lost my parents 20 years ago (mum had cancer, father had heart problems), me as a guy in 30+ with little kid it was a hard times. But music helped a lot.

You are right, Floor got her first tattoo in 2014 - and they all have special meaning to her.
This performance was after Kai Hahto (also drummer of Wintersun) took over drumming on their tours due to Jukka Nevaleinen's health issues. Jukka formally handed the sticks over to Kai officially last year.
Darkly Tranquil kai is a Gatling gun behind the kit.

Nightwish fans like me....can we first explain what this special song is about. It is not about Tara leaving or what her husband said, that tuomas was in love with her...little asshole that jerk.
THIS IS ABOUT THE BACKLASH WHEN THEY HAD TO LET TARA GO AND THE BAND RECIEVED 1000's OF FEATHTREATS< THE MEDIA TOURCHED THEM AND EVEN THE FUCKING PRIME MINSTISTER OF FINLAND STUFFED THEM UNDER THE GROUND. Tuomas took the blame and in the end the fall. Totally destroyed and depressed, thoughts of suïcide hunting him.
a Goof friend advised him to write about the witch hunt and what it did with him and to kill him self in the song instead in real life.
TIS is fucking deep and I can't handle it if people respond but don't know about the immense pain behind it.
It makes me puke if people think Tuomas almost killed himself for a woman he did not even love Yes, Tara was special, they grew up together and it was an enormous loss for the band. BUT THIS GOES WAY DEEPER. That snake of a husband of her ruined the band and made some stupid remarks about Tuomas, little wimp. But this is again about what FANS....MEDIA...POLITICIANS EVEN did with them and specially Tuomas.

The guitarist hanging with Tuomas was not lazy fun talk....they check constantly with him. In the end they all stand with him. Tuomas is stil haunted by these events and often asks technicians to put out the microphones, so he does not have to hear the lyrics.
Can we please make that clear before we let people listen to this.
Sorry if I am emotional.....I experienced the same as Tuomas being crushed in the media, betrayed by "friends" for just seeking a target. IT KILLS.
If you want a demo of the quality difference between Floor and Anette then now listen to the Anette version live. It is not even close. It totally lacks the punch that Floor ads to the song. It has been rumored that Marco and Tuomas discussed asking Floor to join the band after their break-up with Tarja but decided not to because they did not wanted to be responsible for the break-up the band she was in at the time. Since Tuomas said he can hear the songs in his head before he starts writing them i just can not stop wondering did he write this song with Floor in mind? But then again she seems to have the skill to make every song hers.
Joshua Fields Annette was fine in the studio. Imaginerium is their magnum opus. But her live performances, you had better odds at the roulette wheel.

One detail showing the ingenuity of Tuoams: Exactly three minutes after the words "Now I have only three minutes and counting" he is "killed" by the pendulum. And afterwards into the darkness and silence just some heartbeats.Gives me shivers.
As this song is so emotional for Tuomas the other ones really take care for him and watch how he is doing.

He may write for the singer but he appears not afraid to tweak a song for a different singer. But when you have musicians as good as these, by the way being a proghead chops matter, you don’t have to stick to the original one plan. My favorite nightwish performance.
