Edit: If you are registered as a sex worker, the state is going to expect you to report your earnings and pay taxes like everyone else. The trade-off is they don't end up getting arrested and having a criminal record, or having to pay off, usually with services, law enforcement.
Given her record, I'd be willing to bet my bank accounts that she also didn't pay state or federal taxes on her sex work earnings. That's illegal too

When more and more people have to turn to sex work just to prevent themselves or a loved one from going to bed without dinner, my first instinct lately has been to judge the socioeconomic system which likely took away every other possibility to make ends meet.

I do business with a lot of wealthy people. All I can say is Ted Cruz would ABSOLUTELY do something like that. That's what men in power do. At that level a good looking woman on your arm opens doors and closes deals. Because it represents status and stability. Idk if Heidi is Catholic but from my own experience Catholic/Christian wives often put up with WAY TOO MUCH just to avoid the stigma of divorce or often the loss of power that can come with it when married to someone powerful.
