There is air in the back of the cannula when flushing. Should the blood track all the way back into the blue bit before attaching the flush or does it not matter?
Mostly It doesn't matter, a very small amount of air will dissolve in the bloodstream before causing any harm ( air embolism). However, it is recommended that waiting for all the flashbacks to fill the back of the cannula ( for blood drops a gauze pad can be placed below the cannula site).
