This theme always feeled so otherwordly. Most FF9 music was so epic and so different from other Final Fantasies in PSX. Loved the them and story more related to the main characters people and towns, than themselves, always made me think in the whole of the world and lives, is very unique, like you don't fight as Vivi for Vivi,but for all black mages, even Steiner and Amaranth who were mostly thinking in himselves learned that everyone matter more than our ambitions or worries, even in the end with Kuja.
I love the original track due to its smoothing chords. Hearing a vocalized version that keeps the original beat and adds awesome lyrics fitting to the plot is just awesome! Keep up the good work!!💪

if anything im so used to hearing singers with heavy accents for this type of music that i expected it lol . the perfect english throwing me off . also , i get so many mitsuda vibes from the composition here , probably because of that flute , i love it :)

I've never heard it the same way again. But her chorus has always resonated with me. The part about "where darkness fades and hearts are ever believing" is just such a nice description of "home" to me. I do like yours, too, but I'm not sure anything (questioning why you travel or the reason for your existence) can ever be as...cozy?...to me as the thought of home being where darkness fades and where hearts believe. Though I REALLY love this arrangement. The music is fantastic and I love your voice and vocals, too. Not trying to downplay that at all.
I think her second part, by the way, was "Home, I close my eyes, and cling to you ever dreaming. Home, oh don't, forget, the child, for whom you are grieving."

As a longtime fan of Erutan myself, I love her arrangement of The Place I'll Return to Someday! While the motif is the same, my version is of Terra, to be precise. It's a different take on the "home" theme of the game, meant to capture the initial confusion and disappointment that Zidane felt upon arriving in his birthplace of Terra. So, the lyrics aren't really meant to feel "cozy." Like I mentioned in the description, the verses are in Garland's point of view, and the choruses are in Zidane's. Garland describes the setting and attempts to convince Zidane to join his cause. Zidane is pondering this and reflecting back on the meaning of his life, as he questions one of the goals he's been working towards all this time: finding his home and where he came from. In the game, he even goes so far as to call it a "dump" in Bran Bal. This song was meant to evoke the mixed feelings he has upon returning home, and it not being what he expected (a feeling I'm sure many can relate to). And yet, he's still yearning for a place to belong, and at the end of the song, resolves to make his own destiny, whatever that may be.
