I think it's more of Demon1's influence on the team. His impact on the playoffs for Tokyo gave EG the confidence as a team. During the Americas league with BCJ they looked like shit (hence getting 13-0 by loud) which made them barely hang on for the qualifiers.

DRX is a strong consistence team that everyone know , since then everyone is prepare / reading / studying them
